I have been using Thunderbird with two POP3 Hotmail accounts for some time and I am trying to set up a third account with exactly the same configuration. However, both the automatic and the manual configurations failed. The new account receives mail, but the outgoing smtp server config seems to have a problem. Sending messages times out or keeps prompting for a new password.

The Hotmail account has POP3 and IMAP enabled. Thunderbird is set to receive all cookies. I cleared history and cache after every attempt and also temporarily disabled the firewall.

Any suggestions about what the problem could be?

I have tried to follow various help files, but can't recover any bookmarks. Everything bookmark related seems to have completely disappeared. I have the current bookmarks backup from my laptop, but when i go to the bookmark library and click on "import bookmarks from HTML" nothing happens. I am on an iMac OS 12.7.3, Firefox 150.02

Firefox crashed and now my shortcuts have gone and the bookmarks are not easily accessible. I tried importing from the desktop but they are now in a long list and not as they were (in the toolbar. I can't gt the "bookmark summary" showing in the toolbar area.

Hi whenever I use my Google account to sign into websites (Google, ebay, YouTube, & anyother sites,) Firefox will become unresponsive, the window containing the tab i was using becomes unresponsive, sort of. - I can't click any open Firefox Tabs, - the red 'Close' radio button is greyed-out, so I can't close any tabs or the window - right-click is unresponsive, so i can't close tabs that way, but Command-W closes the tabs normally, but the others are still unresponsive.

- i can open a new Firefox window (with &/or without Tabs,) which works normally.

- & unrelated, but earlier, Firefox was running really slowly, Youtube videos were slowed down, but audio was normal, and scrolling was slow.

Try connecting on a different device. Check your modem or router. Disconnect and reconnect to Wi-Fi.

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

I have been testing all browsers I use (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) on Cloudflare Post-Quantum Key Agreement to verify PQC support. They all support the X25519MLKEM768 hybrid scheme (i.e. Cloudflare web page returns "You are using X25519MLKEM768 which is post-quantum secure").

The issue: When I run the test in Firefox multiple times by doing repeated hard refreshes (Ctrl+Shift+R), quite often the result is "You are using X25519 which is not post-quantum secure". Sometimes the very first run after opening Firefox gives the X25519 (failing) result. "Often" varies. Sometimes it's around 10 fails out of 50 tests, other times it's 1 out of 50. It seems random.

I have read that sometimes networking equipment or even ISPs can be the cause of PQC requests falling back to non-PQC due to the long keys in PQC, but I do not see this intermittent issue with Chrome or Edge on the same computer/network/ISP as Firefox. I have not seen a single failure so far on those two browsers. The only variable I am aware of is the web browser.

I also tried connecting to a cellular hotspot as well as disabling my Norton 360 firewall and the results are the same as above.

Hi I cannot add my BT mail account. I keep getting authentification error. I can use Firefox to login to my email account so I know the password is ok. The account recently had 2 step verification added. Could this be the problem? My email account has two sub email id's. I have added both these email addresses to Thunderbird and they work fine. I use POP3. The two addresses that were added were done using the automatic installation. I have tried to manually setup the problem address but to no avail.

It may be a BT problem because I tried to change my password, I went through all the on screen prompts and received confirmation of a password change but I still can only login to my emails using Firefox with the old password. The new password doesn't work.

When I start Thunderbird, the same message is downloaded each time.

The status bar then reads "Downloading message 2 of 17," except that 17 is now up to 27.

Thunderbird remains in this state. No second message is ever downloaded.

When I close down and restart Thunderbird, it's Groundhog Day all over again.

Trying "Clear Recent History" has no effect on the issue.

I am on Thunderbird 150.0.2 (64-bit) on the release update channel. I'm on a Windows 11 HP Envy Laptop purchased in July 2025.

I'm wondering if I am experiencing intended behavior or if I've stumbled upon a bug. I am sometimes downloading files in a staggered manner (i.e., waiting for files to finish downloading before I start the next file downloads). However, any file after the first in that session shows an inaccurate progress indicator in the toolbar which includes progress of the already completed downloads.

For example, if I download two files completely, then start the download of two new files and both sit at 0%, the progress bar for the downloads actually shows 50% completed (2 files at 100%, 2 files at 0% -> Average of 4 files at 50%). I can't imagine this is intended behavior, for I imagine users would like to know how their current downloads are progressing only. This behavior is only fixed when I clear previous downloads, which resets the list to only active downloads, or when I restart the browser and start a new session.

Is there a setting where I can make the indicator report only active downloads?

Whenever I search something on Firefox on iPhone it immediately appears in Facebook advertising. I thought Firefox was supposed to prevent Facebook tracking? I want this to stop.
