My Windows 7 is optimized and works great with every program except Firefox. I downloaded the latest version of Firefox 28.0 and reset. All add-ons and almost all features are turned off.

The problem is that Firefox uses between 380MB to 500 MB for one window and up to 600MB or more for two or three windows. This does not happen with other browsers or much older versions of Firefox.

Other than going to Google Chrome or Safari, I am at wit's end for a solution. I am fairly tech-savvy and can implement most solutions.

Any ideas?
