After downloading and loading Firefox 7, I cannot use it unless the Firefox drive icon is on the desktop.

I upgraded to Firefox 7. After loading the application as directed, I cannot run the new Firefox unless the Firefox drive icon is on the desktop. If I eject the Firefox drive icon, it reappears when I open Firefox 7.
