What does my organisation need to do to allow Firefox to update automatically through its corporate firewall (Astaro)?

All downloads of files ending in .exe are blocked by our corporate firewall (Astaro). What does our IT dept need to do to enable Firefox to auto-update? E.g allow access on a particular host:port? (Presumable the filename will change with every release?)

Updates are done via a .mar (Mozilla Archive) file and not via an .exe file.
Only full versions are exe files.
