Hi.

Please, how can I have a normal Firefox display on android? I would like to see the menus, file, edit, etc.. and the bookmarks toolbar, and the extensions icons. The tabs tray I can live with.

Hi Nicolette

That’s a great question — and you’re not missing anything! On Android, Firefox doesn’t include the full desktop interface (menus like File, Edit, View, or the bookmarks toolbar). The Android version is designed for touch use and small screens, so it has a simplified layout.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to switch it to “normal desktop mode” inside the Android app. The menus and toolbars you’re used to only exist on Firefox for desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux).

What you can do:

1. Request the desktop version of websites:

  • Tap the ⋮ (three dots) → turn on Desktop site.
  • This makes pages look more like they do on a computer.

2. Sync bookmarks and extensions

  • Sign in with your Firefox Account to sync bookmarks, passwords, and tabs from your desktop. That way, your mobile browser stays connected even without the same toolbar layout.

Why this is the case

Firefox for Android uses a completely different interface built for mobile performance and security — the classic desktop UI isn’t supported on Android (or any mobile OS).
