Downloaded what from where?

Thunderbird comes in a flavor for Windows, Linux, Mac and Android and all are different and will only run in the operating system they are built for. So my question is not facetious, genuinely where did you download it from and what exactly did you download?

Next, what does the error message say exactly. I have a feeling there may well be more to that error message that just "will not run on the computer".
