I cannot login to my account (had to open a new one to even post this post..).

I do not have my authenticator app since my phone broke. I do have the "One-time use codes" which I saved. But, alas, how to make them work?

For some reason I was not presented with the "step 2"-code when I reset my authenticator the last time...

I will now be rude: Should I just give up on my Firefox account, and thus Firefox, and go straight back to Chrome (which does not have this problem)?

If the 2FA fails or reset email fails there nothing anyone can do to help since that isn't something the FireFox forum can resolve or fix here. Those accounts are considered lost and one is to create a new account to use but this time use a free email service so one doesn't get locked out when doing resets. If you loose logins for chrome they will do the same process and if that fails you are locked out as well.

Well, that's too bad. I know the forum cannot directly help, but perhaps I was just doing something wrong. I guess it is the correct answer - but it does not solve my problem. Which I guess is that I somehow have gotten bad codes. Just FYI I have never had this problem with Chrome/Google.

At least Mozilla should start to support the deletion of profiles somehow - but for investment/fundraising purposes I guess they like to have as many accounts as possible, even though they are blocked/inactive...

Oh well, have a nice weekend.

BTW according to GDPR in the EU it is most likely illegal to not be able to delete your profile as it could contain "personal data".

I wonder what Mozilla thinks of that?

You can't recover from accessing the Firefox Account website in case of 2FA issues. You are using the 10 character 2FA TOTP codes and aren't confused by other codes like the 32 character recovery key for bypassing a password reset ?

Note that best would have been to disable 2Fa if you can foresee issues with the authenticator app. Note that at least with Google Authenticator you can easily transfer the TOTP codes from one mobile device to another mobile device as a backup if you still keep an older device active.
