I want to get back to a system that I could actually work. Somehow, the present state of my computer is unuseable.

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?
Type about:support in the address box and press Enter.
Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard..
Now in the Reply Box on the forum page,
do a right-click in the box and select Paste.
If the data is too big, do not worry. It's the top part we need to look at.
This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.
My problem was solved by a tech. at the local supplier of my computer from 10 years ago. I could not follow all he did, which was generally deleting stuff, but it all works, I think, as before.
