How do i create bookmark in 7" Android tablet w Firefox when there's no star symbol & when i touch "menu"(3 vertical dots on upper right?)get list,no options

When i open the 3 vertical dots-thing on upper right get list w. "bookmarks" on it--- when i open that i get 3 Firefox bookmarks, nothing else. Am trying to use Firefox49 for Android
