I've been using TB for years and all has been working well. But now I have no idea what is going on.

When I try to download new email from my Yahoo account (using pop3) it tells me that it is downloading 1 or 25 (say) and none get downloaded.

Then I delete some emails in TB and a little while later those deleted emails get downloaded again but none of the latest emails. Even if I logiin to Yahoo and delete those emails, TB seems to manage to download them again. How?

If I delete the first email it should download sometimes the rest will download but not always. Sometimes when I update to the latest version of TB emails start downloading.

I have tried to doing a repair on the Inbox but this seems to make no difference.

I've no idea what to try. Anyone got any advice/suggestions?

Also, how do I get from the Beta version of TB to the stable version? I don't even remember choosing to use the Beta versions.

Lastly, I often get pop-up messages saying that folders cannot be compacted because something is using those folders. I've never understood why TB puts out this message. Why does it not just compact the folders when it has done whatever it is doing? Is there a way of stopping these messages and finding out what is using the folders?

I have a large number of filters, and an important email was processed to move message into a folder. but the filter had no rule that would apply to the message. all the filter criteria were based on the sender, but that email did not have that sender. the filter log shows the filter being applied anyway. I suspect the filter database is corrupted. How can I fix that? i noticed my version is slightly out of date, and I will update it, but I dont expect that would fix a corrupted filter database .

When replying to an email or sending a new mail I get the message :- An error occurred while sending mail. Server responded : You need to authenticate when sending mail from (ip address) Please check "message Recipient" and try again. How do I authenticate ? Thanks140.7.1

I'm a newbie. I am financially obligated to have an ATT/Yahoo email acct. It is 2-factor ID. Can't properly save and utilize the email there, but must keep acct. Need to set up Thunderbird so that I can transfer/save those emails to Thunderbird. ZERO help from Yahoo... If it is possible to do, hoping someone can give easy steps to accomplish. Hello everyone! I also had the error, it randomly started moving messages to folders. I deleted everything, reinstalled (155.0.1), started building message filters. I'm at 29 now. (Gmail account) now I'm not getting new messages. For every filter I get a message saying that the filter could not be applied. No messages are coming, anywhere. What's going on?

Today I started to receive this error message when I went to download emails from my aol account to thunderbird. This is the first time this has happened. "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox." We have plenty of disk space so that can't be the problem. I could see many other people are experiencing this problem and there seem to be a variety of solutions depending on the circumstances. We are on Windows 11, we don't have McAfee installed but us Norton antivirus. I tried checking the settings, I've rebooted, and not sure what else to do. I can't remember some of the other comments I read. However, I am not technical and couldn't understand most of the suggested solutions. How do I get remedial help to figure this out?

All my new incoming e-mails are ending up in the trash instead the inbox. This happens since about a week. I have to move all e-mails from the trash to the inbox. There are no active filters, so what is the problem? Also the layout has suddenly changed. Please help.

Again this morning and yesterday I am receiving no incoming messages. The outgoing doesn't work either. You Thunderbird need to find a different server access!!! The server you are using is apparently Connected with my carrier which is Spectrum. They could care less about third parties and they have stated so. Thus nothing gets addressed or fixed!!! I hate to give up on Thunderbird but I might have to. Please help if you can!! Lee Noga

Thunderbird has stopped getting messages and 'get messages' doesn't work & I have to close & restart thunderbird to receive them. Nothing has changed with the email client itself.

I know messages have arrived by checking my providers phone app, but for Thunderbird to download them to my PC I now have to restart Thunderbird to get new messages

When I attempt to send email I get the following message: Sending of the message failed. The message was not sent due to exceeding the allowed number of recipients. The server responded: Policy-SC01 You’ve reached your sending limit. Don’t worry, you can send again soon..

TB is sending most of my email to the wrong folder. I had 21 message filters, but then I noticed that a lot of things were going to a folder named "bridge" for no apparent reason. I looked at the filter log, but there was nothing in the log for the last few months.

I did have a filter sending certain messages to the "bridge" folder, but TB is sending things there for no reason. I disabled all 21 message filters, and it is still doing it.

I have version 155.0 and I'm using Windows 11 25H2.

How can this be fixed?

The last message in my inbox was on 9/3/2027. After an update, now all messages are now going into a different folder, which has only one rule, and that is all messages from a specific email address. Just now, all messages from my inbox just emptied into a different folder. I don't know what happened with Message Filtering in the latest update, but I have to turn off filtering.

The message filters simply are not working. Not only are they not directing incoming messages to the correct folders, they are also moving some messages in a folder to another folder without a rule!

I did a complete review of my message rules, cleaned them up, had some success, but the next time I opened Thundered to check email, some messages were still directed to the wrong folder. I have used Thunderbird for years, know how to use/create message rules and had no trouble prior to 155.

ALSO - tried reloading Bird 154, but it wouldn't do it because of "Profiles." Bad move there. Frankly, those multiple Profiles are a pain in the butt in Bird and Firefox, a perfect example of if ain't broke, don't fix it.

When I start a new message, it's always shown 'Copy message to'. This has suddenly disappeared. (It puts copies into 'Sent'). I have 3 accounts set up; this seems to happen with all of them. I've probably clicked om something unusual, without noticing it. How can I get 'Copy message to' back again, please? Any suggestions? (I've tried clicking on things in Account Settings, without success.)

I see I've had a message from Mozilla saying 'Use 618307 to sign in'. I've been able to sign in and create thus message anyway. Is that normal, please?

When sending a message, the email reaches the recipient but is not saved in the sender’s account. This email is not displayed anywhere — neither in the web version nor in Thunderbird. Please help resolve the issue.

Mozilla Thunderbird will not pull through new emails to my inbox. The message is this: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. I've checked that I have enough disk space so not sure what the problem is or where to go to make sure the file system allows me to write privileges.

Problem with message are going to the Trash folder, not the Inbox with all local folders in place. After taken in profile the local folders off, the new downloading from message are working just fine to the Inbox . What is the problem Thanks for helping.
