This being the second time I am filling this out is also annoying but I attempted to get the correct info about my system-the issue is that I continue to be notified of an old issue "Bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrade" and I think that was when I moved from Firefox 2 to the next step and was a total newbie to Firefox not knowing that things can get worse prior to getting better at times. I simply want these messages to stop and the link offered does not work. Instead it takes me to a country which uses different characters than our letters and so the only thing I got from the answer to the link was the number 404 which I think in any country means "did not work" so all of this time still has not stopped the messages that I do not need.

I need to be able to add some cabinet files to firefox for a specialized spellchecker. The exe file was set up for IE; it tries to work in Firefox saying it is installing, but it does not install. For IE installation I am given an alternative to unpack the CAB and install via INF, but I do not know how to do this in FireFox. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Minefield just would not open pages, whatever I tries to type in the addressbar the URL just stayed there and nothing happened. Even if I opened a new tab and put a new url again it did not even start loading the page. This is happening since the last updates from today or yesterday. I already removed minefield and installed it again

When ever I am trying to view streaming video from websites, such as CNN or ESPN or You Tube, I now see the same video stacked twice in the panel where it used to only show by itself. I think it happened after the last updates to Firefox and Flash Player, but not sure what was changed to create that effect?

I launch Firefox with -p switch and profile name. How do I get Firefox to choose that profile as default without using that switch? - needed so that when my mail program launches a browser (as specified in Windows), it launches Firefox with correct profile. At present it uses correct version of Firefox (I also have a Minefield beta installed) but wrong profile.

download large (> 500MB) files uses vast amounts of memory which causes the system to grind to a halt. You need to restart firefox after the download completes to free up the memory properly

When I use Firefox to view an FTP site that contains East Asian languages, the page appears with gibberish instead. HTTP displays correctly, only FTP is affected. Opera is able to display the FTP site correctly, so I know that it's not the site that's the problem. And yes, I do have East Asian language support installed (I'm not an idiot).

Like many people I suck at typing. For some reason, a certain accidental keystroke combo makes me go back the to the previous page, thereby losing everything I typed, such as form data or forum comments. This happens randomly and I NEVER use keyboard shortcuts while browsing because I always use the mouse except when typing. I really, really want to disable all keyboard shortcuts but there is no option to do this. What do I do? Go back to Exploder? I hope not!

I set up both computers [actually in the same room on different desks]. Same Password, same secret phrase. It said it was working ON both computers. but nothing happened.

xp64 is not supported and never has been, outside of that some versions of firefox work quite well with this OS, looking to find which version has proved to be most successful with minimal operational problems.

I am using Atlassian Confluence as an intranet Knowledge base with Firefox as the browser. but if I put a hyperlink to a local file Firefox will not open it (I have tried the - http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Error+opening+Internet+shortcut+or+local+HTML+file. -link) but all my entries are as per the recommendation. What I notice is that the hyperlink starts File:\\library\databases\paint.mdb but on the status bar in Firefox I see File:\\\library\databases\paint.mdb (ie three slashes). It all works fine when I open the knowledge base with Explorer.

Something called 'Foxstart' has set itself as my default home page. No matter what I try with tools/options (including deleting the URL) it keeps resetting itself as my home page. I now wish to remove it from my system completely as it is of no use to me and I object to having software installed on my computer remotely, especially when it is so difficult to remove.

I open Firefox, use it then close it. Next time I try to open it, I get a message saying its already open, but, it isnt. I have to constantly restart my computer to use Firefox. What can I do to fix this?

I have this weird problem, when I try to go on Firefox about:config section to add a new string the string isnt added.

I need to add 3 strings in order to get website loading some pictures directly from my HDD.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox, going Safe-Mode to try add these strings, but it wont accept them, no error or anything pops up.

On work I have done the steps without problems, here it works fine.
