Yes, this again.

It USED to exist, and now it doesn't. There's an add-on to provide this functionality for the many, MANY people who want this feature in spite of Mozilla's persistent claims to the contrary. I want this feature, and I can see plenty of evidence in several (closed) questions this topic that I'm not alone.

I've tried using the add-on, and not only is having to navigate to the add-ons page an unacceptable compromise, but it's also refusing to work properly on my computer anyway.

So it would be nice to have a way to restore this functionality which COMES STANDARD WITH ALMOST EVERY OTHER BROWSER.

I use Firefox because I want FULL USER CUSTOMISABILITY, and while I'm still getting many important tools that are missing from other browsers, this is a key feature that I not only want, but EXPECT from a browser with ANY degree of competently-implemented customisation.

The absence of key features like this is starting to frustrate me, and I may end up forced to use an otherwise-inferior browser to get what SHOULD be some of the most basic options.

this has been going on for a while and i am considering the previously unthinkable and switching to Chrome, i don't want to but waiting five minutes for firefox to open is getting on my last never. the thing is, it only is this slow the first time. after that it is fast as usual. i have tried disabling all addons and plug ins, nothing works. as i said, it only does this when i try to open it up first thing in the morning after booting up the computer. i have a fast computer too, an intel i7 3770 processor and 16 gigs of ram so that is not an issue. i am running windows 8 by the way. i click on the firefox icon and it does nothing for at least a few minutes, then opens. very frustrating. also, i have disabled prefetch as well, no good. attached are screenshots of my addons and plug ins. yes, i have uninstalled it completely and reinstalled, no luck.

Firefox no longer works properly. I tried the reset Firefox option, but that did not help. When I try to delete an email, I receive the not responding message. When I try to move an email into a folder I receive the message. When I try just to go to the next email, I receive the message. If I try to mark a message not spam, nothing happens. If I wait, eventually Firefox responds and I can move on to the next email. Obviously this is very time consuming and I find that I just don't read my email as I don't what to spend the time. I contact Yahoo and they responded back that it is a browser issue. Because Firefox is the only browser I have on my computer I need to get this working properly again. One more thing, sometime this non-responsive message shows up when I am using other sites, but just not as often as when I'm trying to read my Yahoo emails. I thank you in advance for answering my question and try to help me get this issue resolved.

I restarted and checked my disks and memory. All other browsers: IE, Safari, Chrome & Opera work fine. I installed from Firefox Setup 36.0.3.exe this morning. Same problem. I downloaded something from download[dot]com (I'm not typing in the address because I don't want anyone to link there without proper warning). I've searched and done *everything* I've found for removing this extension. MBAM, Spyware Terminator, Windows Defender (I'm on W8 and it's built in, so no reason not to use it), uninstall manually, nothing.

It's not listed *anywhere* on my computer. But while searching, I did find something. It creates a Windows Task object that re-installs the extension and it's component software (i.e. a separate program that collects user data) on startup if it's removed.

Can anyone provide help? I've even found the solutions listed here and they don't work anymore.

EDIT: for anyone else reading this, you have to find and delete the global folder that the extension has placed itself in.

I run three websites. One is personal (www.rossolson.org) and two are for non-profit organizations (www.outpostministries.org and www.tccsa.tc). All have site search through Google, my own site is paid to be ad-free, the non profits are free and without adds because of their non profit status. For a while now, site search does not work with Firefox for the non profit sites but does for the paid site. Chrome and IE work fine. Is there a solution? Some setting to activate? Is this Google's doing?

The Tab on my browser is double sized under Windows 8. I have already searched the forums for a solution and none worked.

Already tried: 1. Safe mode 2. Create new Profile 3. Reinstalled with NO extensions 4. Cleaned out everything entry in appdata/programdata/registry

After everything double sized tab persists.

So I am led to believe that this is some new setting for Firefox where it detects an unknown 'Tablet' mode and sets the default theme as having double sized tabs. -- And just FYI -- I am NOT using a touchscreen. So whatever it is detecting, it is faulty. If you are going to put this in as an option, please add an option to DISABLE it.

When I change to another theme, such as Mx3, it does fix the double sized.

For the past few days Firefox browser videos requiring Flash player do not open but give me the 'crash screen'. It works fine with Internet Explorer because it is built in. I have tried all of the recommended fixes from adobe and and firefox.

I have refreshed Firefox
I have enabled in firefox
I have disabled all plugins and extensions then tried enabling Flash Player
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash player a few times
I have tried adjusting Flash player settings
    " deleting FPs cache, etc.

I have not been able to adjust FPs "hardware acceleration" because it won't open in the support pages.

I have: a newer toshiba Satellite L70 (intel i7)

windows 8.1

I am stumped!

Yesterday I visited a site to which I often go, pingtest.net. Normally, when I visit that site, a thin horizontal bar appears at the top of the browser viewing frame. I do not recall what it says, but it stretches the entire length of frame, from left to right. On the right edge of the bar is an x, if I wish to close it. In addition, when this horizontal bar appears, I also get a box which is about six to seven times the height of the thin horizontal bar that appears over the left edge of the thin horizontal bar. This box stretches across the width of about a sixth or fifth of the width of the horizontal bar. It contains something like the following: Show All, Allow, Allow and Remember. I normally click the Show all option, and I normally select Allow Now for all options.

Here's what happened yesterday: I went to pingtest.net, the horizontal bar appeared, and everything seemed normal. However I took no action. Instead, I changed my mind and decided to go to a different URL. My cursor was in the middle of the screen. I moved the cursor up to what I intended to be the URL field, in order to enter a new URL. Unfortunately I didn't move the cursor sufficiently. So, instead of clicking in the URL field, I clicked right in the middle of the horizontal bar. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I CLICKED BUT FROM THAT MOMENT TO THIS THAT HORIZONTAL BAR HAS NEVER RE-APPEARED. WHATEVER I CLICKED, IT APPEARS I INSTRUCTED FIREFOX TO NEVER PROVIDE ME WITH THAT HORIZONTAL BAR AGAIN!!!

As a result, I am also no longer getting the grey box with the Show All, Allow, Allow and Remember options.

How can I restore normal behavior, and get the normal horizontal bar and the normal box with the Show All, Allow, Allow and Remember options?

I've tried various methods of sorting tags. None of them really represents the conventional output one would consider "sorting". I've had to, for example, prefix categories of tags in order to get some semblance of order. Lately not even this works very well after going through various updates to Firefox.

Further, there doesn't seem to be anything on the Mozilla website for Firefox that addresses this question. Perhaps my library of Bookmarks is more extensive than most, and those who program the interface have never seen a need to provide this capability to sort tags. In my case, since I've used tags to introduce order and fast access to information, tags have become indispensable to that end.

Maybe the reason this capability is missing is because it is not technically feasible. I would like to know whether or not it is so I don't continue to search for a solution.

and furthermore, I see that almost all the question threads asking about this have been closed. I've downloaded the suggested add-on, but my question is ..what changed? Firefox was the best at blocking popups but now it's as if the popup blocker is nonexistant. I have not changed settings, but popups started becomming increasingly abundant, I have checked and unchecked and rebooted with no improvement. It's not an occasional popup ad, literally every third click I make (even within one window) causes some popup ad to appear....I've counted. Has something happened to firefox or have the ad guys just gotten smarter about going around popup blockers in firefox? Either way, PLEASE FIX THIS. Otherwise, why have the option of checking a popup blocker in Options? Thanks!
