I added the duckduckgo extension and gave it the required permissions, but despite it saying that it set duckduckgo as the default search engine, it hadn't even showed up on the list at all. I tried removing and adding back the extension, but that didn't work either.

I had Amazon in the search engine along with Google, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, etc.., and was using it frequently. However after some point, at least a month ago, only Amaozn disappeared from the search engine list. Even resetting the search engines to default doesn't bring back Amazon.

I've been waiting for a fix to come but since it hasn't come yet, I'd like to know if there are any way I can restore it.

current environment: - macOS 15.4.1 - Firefox 138.0.1 (I had this issue on v137 too)

HOW CAN I GET RID OF GOOGLE? THEY'RE SO INVASIVE. I need Firefox to take over every single thing! The worst single thing I did, is downloading the app from Google! Mozilla and Firefox need an alternative for their downloads, of the app. Can't you help me, please?

Whenever I highlight text on a website and right click a popup appears enabling an automatic search for that highlighted text. But that search sends me to Ecosia's website. A great cause, but I'd prefer to choose my own instead of Mozilla doing so for me.

How do I either: 1. Change that context right click search default search engine (please note not a provider search engine in settings. I mean right click activated searches only).

2. Or remove Ecosia search from it completely.

I do not have any Ecosia extentions installed. I also have gone into config:about and not found where this right click functionality in Firefox is.

I use Sequoia on a MacBook Air and I have used DDG in the past but recently it has become increasingly restrictive in its searches....to the point where it won't even allow me access to my own accounts. I have tried deleting the application, uninstalling Firefox and then re-installing it but it just won't go away.

I'm bumping into a strange issue when searching stuff through google.com. if i do a search for anything I get the google recaptcha page to verify that I'm not a robot. This is happening only when i have my bookmarks toolbar set to always show. If I turn it off then google.com lets me search with no issues.

This only seems to happen on google.com. If i use bing.com or another search engine this does not happen. No captcha when searching from those engines.

Also this seems to be a Firefox issue only and i have tried doing searches through google.com using Chrome and Edge.

I have scanned my entire system thoroughly to be sure there was no malware.

Again this only happens when the bookmarks toolbar is always on.

Any help would be great.

I can no longer switch search engines via the pull down list available to the right of the search bar. I used to be able to switch from a list I set up in settings. I now have to go into settings to change my search engine. This is annoying. Also, recently, when I make my first search with Google Search I have to enter the search criteria twice. The first time the system just sits there with no response. The second time it responds normally. This is the same on both of my Dell Lattitude laptops running the latest version of Windows 11. I run NORD VPN and Trend Micro internet security

I added the bing for the background on my computer; now I have somehow made it the browser when I open firefox and I want to remove it even if it means not having the backgrounds. I WANT FIREFOX AND NOT BING

i do not want to reinvent my entire life with passwords you do not share with my previous search engine. please let me return to Safari, with Mozilla Firefox in the background.

There is a drop down menu with a list of search engines to swap between. I'd like to never see this again for the rest of my life. How do i remove this from my browser?

I use the google search engine with the mozilla app on my phone, but every time i do a new search i get logged out of my google account. This didnt happen before, how do i fix it?
