I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) file:///.../index_details.rst or file:///.../index_details.txt in my default system editor.

This has worked pretty well last in version 127. (https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/127.0/linux-x86_64/en-US/)

But after v127 Firefox always opens files directly (see screen). I can't find any settings to change this behavior. Something has been changed.

I keep back the firefox upgrade so long it was posible for me but 127 is now old and i use the last version 133.0-1.

I'm using Linux (Debian).

What has happened to the "More actions" menu button - the one that normally is in the upper left corner of windows (see the attached image)?

I have just installed a new PC, with Debian 12 and KDE (plasma 5.27.5); the other windows have this menu button, but not Firefox and Thunderbird. Is there a way to get it back, eg by moving the menu bar out of the title bar and back to where it used to be?

I use Firefox 132.0.1 under Fedora 14 Linux. Whenever I click an urls in another application (e.g. Libreoffice, Keepass...) a new tab is opened in Firefox (according to Firefox's settings), but Firefox itself does not pop up in the foreground, it remains in the background. I highly appreciate the setting 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. But FF only comes to foreground in case I deactivate 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. How can I prevent FF to stay in the background in case 'open links in tabs instead of new windows' is enabled?

I have a Linux PC where, when I right-click, I see shortcut letters in the context menu (the one that appears when you right-click). So, if I want to inspect an element, I right-click on it and press Q, and the inspector opens right away. This saves me time from navigating through the menu. However, on my other MacOS PC with Firefox, it doesn't do the same. I've searched for solutions but haven't found any.

I am running Firefox 132.0.2 on Pop_OS, using Gnome. I have a dual monitor setup, with my leftmost monitor being a 1080p set as portrait, and my main being a 4K set as landscape.

Every time I open Firefox, the window is exactly 1080 pixels large, no matter what I do. I can of course resize it, but it's frustrating having to do that every time.

If I tell Gnome that my secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side of my primary, everything works perfectly: Firefox stays the size it is when I close it.

It seems that Firefox uses my leftmost monitor's size to determine the maximum windows width, and even overwrites my xulsettings.json every time I close it.

I tried different builds, and even different forks suck as librewolf: no difference. I can´t of course change the position of how my monitors are placed on my desk.

Any ideas?

For the past few months, the browser will no longer download any files. The only diagnostic that I can see is failed when the download is attempted. I have refreshed firefox and the problem remains. Chrome can download without any problems, but I used firefox for many years and wish to continue.

The latest version of Firefox (115) always launches at fullscreen size in linux. I rarely use any application at full screensize because I like to have other windows open on the desktop at the same time. Virtual desktops are not always convenient. I have tried using the -geometry option at the command line, which is usual honoured by applications running under X11, but this is ignored. Nor can I grab the bottom right-hand corner and drag it diagonally to resize it dynamically. Maybe there is a setting somewhere for initial size?

After a few days I noticed that the option "open with" on the downloads dialog is always grayed out (see the attached picture).

If I go on the settings and tell the browser to not ask and open directly the file, it opens without any problem... (actually it shows an advertisement saying it is an executable file, but when I dismiss it, it opens)

I am running Lubuntu 22.04LTS (have been for months now), with Firefox 130.0.1 installed via the normal vanilla apt.

It was working fine until a few days ago (perhaps after an update, but I can't recall specifically), and then just stopped being able to save anything.

For example, right clicking on an image will bring up "Save As..." as an option, but when I choose that, nothing happens. No prompt to save, nor does the file appear anywhere.

When I choose "Save" as a pulldown on cloud XLSX files...similarly, nothing happens.

When I download something, Firefox is supposed to open up a prompt asking me where I want to save the file but that never opens...nor does the file download.

I am totally baffled.
