Hello, Mozilla Firefox is my default browser and my favorite one

However, I have an issue when surfing on Youtube because at least one of the keyboard shortcuts cannot be used with Mozilla Firefox, while it works ok with both Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge

Precisely, while on the French keyboard striking the "?" (question mark) key allows to reduce the speed of the video, the opposite shortcut "." (dot) does not works when it should increase the speed

Is there any technical conflict preventing for this dot shortcut to work, or was this forgotten in a way during the development phase?

In any case could it be possible to implement this in a next update?

Reopen closed tabs DOES work if I do it by hand (right click -> Undo Close Tab). But when I type Ctrl + Shift + T, it opens an empty tab (as if I had typed Ctrl + T).

For the record I'm using Mozilla Firefox 71.0 on Linux Mint 19.2 I have this issue on three different computers with the same distro, so I suppose this is a common issue?

Hi, I am using Firefox 62.0.2 (64-bit) on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. I added into System settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts this keys: COPY CTRL + C CUT CTRL + X etc. I am also using a window keyboard. This shortcuts work on all apps. With my keyboard I am also able to use the "home", "end", "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys in all the apps.

All the apps except for firefox. In firefox none of this shortcuts and keys work. If I go to Firefox -> Edit I can see that the function copy etc are all associated with CTRL + C etc shortcuts. In addition if I do CTRL+C I can notice that the Edit menù entry get highlighted. What's the problem? I have also tried to restart my laptop but nothing happened

Firefox updated itself to version 64, and now instead of shift+enter or ctrl+shift+enter causing it to navigate to the address bar contents surrounded with www. and either .net or .org, both combinations open a new window which then navigates to whatever was already there with nothing added on. That is - if I put "test" into the address bar and hit shift+enter, I no longer navigate to "www.test.net," but instead get a new additional FF window that immediately searches my search provider for "test." Was this functionality broken in this version, or is there just some new option I need to change to get that behavior back?

Hi. I'm not sure when it happened, because I usually leave Firefox update itself automatically.

I like to use ctrl+enter to complete .com URL, shift+enter to complete .net URL, and ctrl+shift+enter to complete .org URL, and add alt key to these hotkeys to open it on separate window. Only ctrl+enter seem to work and shift+enter was replaced to searching on default search engine on separate window. But I do it by doing alt+enter.

What are the new hotkeys and how do I change them back?

This is a difficult question to search for answers to, because the word "tab" is more often used to refer to browser tabs. I'm using it to refer to the TAB key -- used not to move through browser tabs, but to move through tools in the Firefox window.

I have frequently used the TAB key to move from the URL field to the Search field. Previously, this required using the TAB key only once, but with the latest upgrade (67.0), one TAB from the URL field goes to one of the other tools that I have between URL and Search fields. But I have no need to TAB to those tools. Is there any way, short of moving those fields around, to change the tabbing order so that I can go back to only needing to hit the TAB key once?

I'm using FF 67.0 (as well as 69.0a1 Nightly) on macOS.

Now that we can finally change keyboard shortcuts for Extensions (yay!) I would like to use `⌘S` as one of my key bindings. Problem is, that is already mapped to "Save Page As..." — a menu item I hardly ever need.

Is there any way (current or planned) that users can change keybindings for built in native commands? This would be especially useful for the many switchers coming over from Chrome after the adblockalypse.

A lot of times, I will accidentally 'blow-up' the browser to full-screen size while moving the mouse around, equal to intentionally hitting the 'green' traffic light circled button, or using the Firefox pull-down menu 'WINDOW > ZOOM.'

This is a hassle in Mac when done accidentally, because then I have to make the tom menu bar appear by swiping down and up, then manually drag the corner of the active window to reduce the window size. It also upsets my pre-set, preferred size of the window (critical for professional film/tv editors who usually work on dual, 24 to 30-inch screens; where a full Firefox window is way too big for e-mails, surfing the web, and other tasks).

I can't believe there is no "Un-zoom" keystroke (way easier than mousing to a pull-down menu) to return the Firefox window to the size I had set it to!

Please consider adding this.

I was wondering if firefox has something similar? I used element picker on uBlock origin way too much for me to just abandon it. Someone please tell me I am able to create one.

It used to be very easy to navigate and add an extension or plug in. You could always find a list of your plug ins/extensions and if they were active or not. I cannot find anything. Can someone help? I am using a mac and Firefox is my browser. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I have not checked it in a while and now I cannot find anything. Thank you

What I would like is to have a keyboard shortcut when I highlight text to search the text in the default search engine. The next fastest option is to right click (after highlighting) and press S, or click 'Search DuckDuckGo for "selected text"'.

Is there a way to disable the F3 function key in firefox? I work in webfile and F3 is supposed to work like "exit" but instead I now get the "find" search tab and it messes up my workflow to have to press esc all the time.

It used to be "K". I could right-click on a link and simply press "K" on keyboard to add link to clipboard or let the other software grab the link. Now it's "A" and it's duplicated in context menu so it is not working that way I have to click with mouse it anyway. And it seems "K" is not in use anyway.

I know it's "first world" problem but it's very frustrating for me.

Would be good if you could restore it.

I use a lot of UNICODE characters when typing on several sites. I enabled the hex numpad through a registry key as described here: (https://superuser.com/questions/47420/insert-unicode-characters-via-the-keyboard) and so far it has worked fine with firefox. However when trying to type "Alt+14B" for the character "ŋ", firefox defaults to opening the bookmarks tab from the menu bar (which is the shortcut Alt + B in firefox). The B overrides the previous characters and firefox treats it as a shortcut instead of a unicode entry. Alt toggles the menu bar, but only if let go before a valid unicode is recognized. So i can write a schwa "ə" by typing "Alt(plus sign)259" but not "ŋ" (pasted here). Is there any way I can disable the ALT menu bar shortcut?

For ages now I've used Firefox and to save time as i swap pages a lot doing hobbiest web development and such, I use ctrl+e. Recently, like tonight recently whenever I do control+e it's started putting ? before it. Whenever this happens any domain I enter is searched. It may be a minor thing but it seriously annoys me that this started happening. It's one of the main things I hate about MS Edge! Is there any way to stop/fix this so I can just go back to my normal lifestyle? Thanks in advance - Steve

On macOS one can insert Emoji characters with the short cut CTRL + CMD + Space. This works fine, when Firefox is set to English, but when I switch the Language to German, the short cut no longer works.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hey, could you please add an entry in "about:config" or point me out a trick to auto-focus the searchbar when opening a new window/tab ?
