A person helped me change my browser from Internet Explorer 7 to FireFox. Now I cannot find the email link on FireFox. I right click in the upper toolbar & hit customize. Their is no email. When I hit customize, the icons shrink & I can see more icons on the upper toolbar. When I cancel out of customize, I can only see 2 of the icons & I cannot bring up any others. Does Firefox not use email or does it have to be G mail, ect. ? My email is dolls@xxxxxxx.xxx.

I'm unable to resolve this after 2 hours of trying solutions on the web. I have tried going to about:config and changing the keyword to the google address url, and it is the google url, but still my default engine is search-results.com. (Why this has to be so difficult in Firefox is beyond me). I have run multiple anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and nothing is detected. I'm now officially giving up on this cr*ppy browser. I know it's free software and maybe I shouldn't complain, but Firefox is crashing so often (with the "cute" error message "snap!") and then there is this unsolvable problem that you can't set your default search provider that in my book Firefox is actually malware.

After a system reinstall: Windows 7 I had to reinstalled Mozilla and set it as my home page yet when opening Mozilla I get a hosting site with this address. http://www.http.com//www.google.com

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and still get this weird hosting website every time I open Mozilla. I've cleared cache. I've made sure the address does not appear as my home page.

Please advise, Thank you.

Currently, opening a new tab goes to a blank search page with an annoying advertisement, and I want it to open a new tab in google.com.

I've tried for over 2 hrs to fix this, following instructions I found. Nothing has worked.

I downloaded an add-on, but it did not work.

I then used about:config and tried changing "newtab" and "keyword" but those changes did not work.

I now see that the config list has dozens and dozens of files beginning CT 2504091, and I am wondering if those should be there.

I now fear i am making things worse if I keep trying, so I am writing to you.

Alos, I am reluctant to use the "reset" option because it says "will TRY to keep bookmarks," and my wife will NOT be happy if all her banking and other bookmarks disappear upon reset.

thanks in advance for your help.

I can get Firefox to open, but other than that nothing works. It doesn't respond to type or the mouse. In fact, it acts like your keyboard or mouse are no longer working. Which they are.

It was working fine & then it just stopped.

I've tried uninstalling & re-installing. That didn't help, nor did going back to an older version. I even tried using Windows restore point & going back in time. Nothing has helped.

My OS is Vista.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

My favorite news site originally displayed normally but somehow I am now stuck in a very low res and I can't get back to the original display. Not sure whether this is Firefox or the computer. I have Firefox 24.0 & Windows 7.

Recently, yesterday or the day before, some problems developed with Firefox. 1. Formerly, if I clicked a link in Word, it would open in Firefox. Now, when I hover over a link in Word, the arrow changes to a hand, the box appears showing the URL of the link, I click, the link changes colors, but nothing opens in FIrefox.

2. The same problem occurs with links in emails. (I use Outlook 2000 by the way.)

3. This problem may or may not be related. I was having a problem with Firefox crashing alot & also some other problem. So I uninstalled it & redownloaded it, & re-installed it. But when I opened it up, it was just the same thing. But a few weeks ago, for some reason all of a sudden Firefox 24.0 appeared.

Formerly, I had Lastpass installed in Firefox. But it isn't in the upgraded 24.0. So I tried installing it according to directions received from Lastpass. I go through the whole wizard & it says it installed successfully. But it isn't there. It still isn't in Firefox.

I went to www.lastpass.com & logged in. There was a message that said I needed to install the plugin to have full functionality. So I clicked on the link & clicked any subsequent clicks I needed to click, thinking that maybe this would solve the problem. Again, it said installation was successful, but it still is not in Firefox.

So, I'm having two problems basically. First, links in Word & emails are not opening in Firefox. Secondly, Lastpass is not installing, even though it says it is.

Thanks. PS: Automatically adding the troubleshooter just now didn't work either, even though it said it did, just like with Lastpass. So, I copied and pasted all the stuff in the next window manually from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/get-started/form?search=Can%27t+open+links+in+Firefox&step=aaq-question#troubleshooting-help

Often I've been following a set of instructions for updating or resolving some problem. At the end of the instructions comes the final instruction: "Restart Firefox." I'm always mystified because I've never been able to learn exactly how one is supposed to "Restart Firefox."

Your instructions seem to imply that this is so elementary, that no further explanation is required. I'm sorry, but I've tried very hard, many times, over several years, but have never been able to find any information about how one is supposed to "Restart Firefox.
