Hello all. Since the update to Version 113.0 I have been getting an error in my Event Viewer which is Event 2 Firefox Default Browser Agent . I am now on Version 113.0.1 and still get this error. Firefox is my default browser. Below is an image of what I see in my Event Viewer and also the full view of the event itself. I seem to not be having any problems with the browser but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why this is happening or forward to the Devs.

Respectfully, Don

Hello,

I've spent several hours today trying to fix FireFox slow start up on my system. After start up (about 2 full minutes), everything works normally. The hardware is an ASUS A88xm-A MB, A10-6800K processor, 16G DDR3, runs OS and programs off an SSD. I worked through all the slow startup suggestions, ran memtest (0 Errors, 1 Pass), disabled all add ons, (even the OpenH264 video codec (I use the onboard HDMI, no graphics card)), turned off hardware acceleration, etc. When starting in troubleshoot mode, less than 30 seconds, (acceptable), but I really don't know where to begin with the "More Troubleshooting Information" when I look at the table generated by it. There have been no other problems to date with the system, and the long start-up time began with 20.04 Ubuntu (about a minute), then got worse when I upgraded to 22.04 to try to solve THAT problem. Currently running FF 104.0, and the update page says wait for a distro update if that is how it was installed. I believe 104.0 is the latest Linux 64b version though. All updates to the system are done as soon as I'm notified of them. there have been none since the upgrade a few days ago.

Any suggestions? Gotta get some sleep now... TIA, Dave

Whenever I attempt to access DRM content such as netflix or spotify I am notified that the WidevineCdm plugin has crashed. I'm running firefox version 101.0.1 on Kubuntu 22.04, I am running the debian package release, but I had this issue with the snap version too. I've submitted crash reports, but they're all "EMPTY: no crashing thread" (https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/20af09a5-6bc4-4719-9242-38f5c0220614 here's one).

Just now, after a massive and catastrophic SUPER-MELTDOWN-crash that arbitrarily decided to absolutely murder my day, ALL my tabs and windows and ALL history of "Recently Closed" tabs and windows is gone!

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

What is the reason for the existence of a SYNC feature if it isn't to MAKE SURE that a record of open tabs and windows is SECURELY maintained no matter how many times the application crashes, so that AT ALL TIMES, this information is kept INTACT, regardless of the state of the end users device? That is BY FAR the most important part of the sync feature! Are you telling me that there is no backup process of that information?

This is the kind of thing I never expected from you guys at Mozilla. I've been using Firefox for MANY years because I trust what you do. Today that trust has been SEVERELY and BRUTALLY wounded, most likely beyond repair...

I need you to fix this...

I need you to recover that information for me and I need you to make sure that what just happened could never, ever happen again unless God himself caused every digital storage unit on earth to disintegrate.

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 which is using the snap package of Firefox.

It seems that I cannot open local files in the /tmp directory. When I place a test.html file there and run `firefox /tmp/test.html`, it returns a file not found error. Why?

I don't have the problem with files in my home directory.

Hi, so my problem was exist for several times both on my PC and laptop and can't figure it out keyword to fix my issue and tbh i don't know what trigger this behavior. When browsing sometimes came situation can't type anything using my keyboard, even when outside firefox.

my current workaround to encounter this, i just need open any web with place I can type like search bar or text box and type there then back to normal (so I guessing it's maybe related to when I open web with this kind search box then move to other tab it's stuck on that box? but i can't make sure, it just happen randomly but often). and I don't know if this issues related to windows or just firefox because I didn't know the trigger so i can't recreate this on other browser.

If anyone know how to fix this, please help me.

thanks in advance

Hello, I am using a personal PC. So I don't require the Firefox to be managed by an organization. In settings it shows "Your browser is being managed by your organization" . On clicking on it, it says "The Enterprise Policies service is active but there are no policies enabled". I have attached screenshots for the same. Does any one know how to resolve this bug?

The BBC website believes I am in another country, other than the UK. It currently redirects from bbc.co.uk to bbc.com, with some content no longer being available.

I have checked my IP, and it is currently a UK-based IP address. I do not have any active VPN profiles.

I have refreshed Firefox, deleted profiles, and redownloded but still the issue presists.

This problem is not reflective on any other browsers on the same machine.

Grateful for your help.

This is the BBC's advice, which I have followed - https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/questions/behind-the-scenes/website-domain-change

Firefox has been awesome. But, my computer just updated to windows 11 and now it doesn't work. Sometimes I try to open the browser and nothing happens (but I somehow end up with something like 7 instances of it running in the background, according to task manager), sometimes I get it to open, but it won't load my homepage or anything, and sometimes it seems to work fine but only for a little while - then it just stops responding.

I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. I tried the browser reset, which helped for a little bit but then the problems came back. I think having a theme installed makes it worse, but now I can't even get settings to open so I can try turning it off to see if that helps.

Any ideas? Not being able to use the internet on my computer is a pretty big deal. I'd prefer to not switch browsers, but I don't know what other option I've got at the moment.

Thanks!

I'm running Firefox 99.0.1 on Ubuntu 22.04. Recently (I think since I updated to Ubuntu 22.04 about a week ago), Firefox has been refusing to show me file upload dialogs. When I click a button that's supposed to give me one, nothing happens.

This has been happening with: - The "attach files" button in Gmail - A file upload button on Gradescope (website for managing homework assignments) - File -> Open File... and Ctrl+O.

Dragging and dropping a file onto an email in Gmail does attach the file -- it's just that the button doesn't work.

I've tried restarting, and I've tried running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode -- so far nothing has fixed the problem. What else should I do?

I was directed here from Mozilla Connect. Since the update a few days ago, my Firefox browser keeps freezing permanently. It seems to happen mostly when I interact with Google Search (sometimes just loading Google will cause it) but it does happen occasionally on other sites. When it freezes this way, the only fix is to End Task and reload. It will successfully reload to the state it was in just a few seconds before freezing. I'm on Windows 10. I keep everything (OS, browsers, etc.) up to date, so I doubt that would be a factor. I wonder if there could there be an issue with a Google-based script (hence it occurring on other sites)? I don't know how I'd test for that.

I'm having a number of issues with my Firefox out of nowhere.

1. My mouse will no longer scroll, nor will my keyboard arrows. I must use my touchscreen. 2. I have "new tabs" instead of "new windows" selected, yet if I click anything, it goes to a new window. 3. I cannot close tabs without right clicking. 4. I cannot SWITCH tabs at all. 5. I cannot close Firefox without going to my start bar and right clicking. 6. Firefox seems to be aware something is wrong, opens up in a troubleshooting mode... and then doesn't troubleshoot.

(It is entirely possibly my infant slammed on the keyboard and changed a setting I can't find.)

Firefox (97.0 64 bit, windows 10) destroyed all my previous tabs (4 windows lots of tabs) when I opened it despite always having "Firefox will" set to "Remember History". It just opened one window with the Home page.

Trying to sort it out using restore all tabs and then all windows, it just made the problem worse and the restored tabs eventually stopped restoring so now I have useless json files.

The files I have in my profile are:

previous.jsonlz4 15/2/2022 18:46 recovery.baklz4 15/2/2022 19:10 recovery.jsonlz4 15/2/2022 19:10 (this file changes its name from bak to json and back to bak again, very odd) upgrade.jsonlz4-20220119190439 26/1/2022 00:23 upgrade.jsonlz4-20220126154723 29/1/2022 04:31 upgrade.jsonlz4-20220202182137 12/2/2022 17:40

Is it possible "previous.jsonlz4" may have all the windows and tabs that I lost?

If so, how could I get Firefox to use it when I next open it? (assuming if I close this browser it won't overwrite the "previous.jsonlz4" file??).

Also could I use the upgrade.jsonlz4 file to try to restore all the windows and tabs that I lost? The windows would have been much the same on 12 Feb as they were today before the destruction.

I got a new computer recently and it was already upgraded to windows 11. I downloaded Firefox because it is my main go-to. It worked for a few days then all the sudden, it just stopped loading, if I tried to search something it would just load forever and never show up. Even dev tools would not display, it just was like in a frozen state, I tried downloading the Developer version of the browser, nope! Deleting all program files, Nope! Then when I tried to use edge, smooth as can be. What the heck is going on here?

I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 recently. Since then Firefox 104.0.2 (64-bit) has been arbitrarily freezing; sometimes i have to restart the computer while most of the times I am able to kill the Firefox main process and restart Firefox.

The freeze occurs when i try to save a Web page; i don't see any "logic" as to which Web pages cause Firefox to freeze. It seems totally arbitrary.

I clear my downloads list everyday (sometimes more frequently than that) and clear cookies & cache everyday.

I have selected "no proxy" by default, in 'Connection Settings'.

This never happened until after i upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04.

I've browsed the support pages and don't find anything relevant to my problem. If I'm overlooking something, I apologize in advance!

I have attached a 'screen capture' image of Firefox processes just before i killed the main process.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Ramki

Hi, so I recently installed arch Linux and want to use Firefox as my browser. However ever since I installed it, it takes a long time to launch the program. It consistently takes just over 26 seconds to launch. After it's open everything works fine besides that. Also when I launch Firefox from the terminal I get this message "ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment. Hopefully this makes some amount of sense to you.
