For a while now I've had a problem in Firefox where images randomly show up with green blocky glitches or yellow lines on them. Also sometimes text does not show correctly. I've attached a couple of examples. The image is from my Facebook feed (but it can happen on any website it seems) and the text is open tabs - the one on the right is this page.

Any suggestions? I've refreshed the Firefox install, and have only one add-on - an ad blocker. I've tried two different ad-blocking add-ons and the problem persists with both.

I currently have a problem not being able to stream films on netflix, amazon prime, disney plus using firefox browser. This issue happened overnight. Depending on the site a certain error code message will pop up then the same yellow bar at the top says "the widevineCdm plugin has crashed..." i have reloaded the page, sent the report. uninstalled and installed firefox...but the issue continues. This happened roughtly 2 weeks ago and the problem hasnt resolved itself. Safari allows me to stream most sites barr disney plus. Can anyone help. I've tried many of the things google has suggested and it hasnt fixed the problem. I have tried chrome also, there seems to be the same issue. does anyone have suggestions

I'm having a new problem with Firefox, which I think appeared with Firefox 84 (but I'm not 100% sure). When I type in some text boxes, the cursor gets very slow and unresponsive to move around by the keyboard _if_ the text in the box is long enough so that a scrollbar appears on the right hand side. Sometimes. It doesn't happen at all sites -- it's not duplicating in this textbox that I'm typing in right now -- but it happens all of the time in the message boxes at playdiplomacy.com, and sometimes on GitHub.com when posting issues. Sporadically and unreliably.

As far as I can tell, the cursor is still moving quickly and responsively, but the blink itself isn't happening so I can't see it. If I hold down the left cursor key, it looks like the cursor isn't going anywhere, but if I hit a letter key that letter appears instantly at the location where the cursor has apparently moved to, with no delay.

The problem does not occur when I hold down shift (to highlight) while moving the cursor via the arrow keys, which further suggests that it is somehow related to the cursor blinking.

Restarting in safe mode makes the problem go away instantly. Disabling all add-ons myself does not. Starting with a brand new profile does _not_ make the problem go away either. So there's something safe mode is doing that a new profile doesn't.

Any idea what might be causing this?

(Ubuntu 20.04, Firefox 84.0).

On clicking on it, it says "The Enterprise Policies service is active but there are no policies enabled". I have attached screenshots for the same. Does any one know how to resolve this bug?

This is also happening when I am using Firefox Troubleshooting mode, to see if maybe it's a plugin/extension causing this issue, but it's not.

Hi all After update 90.0.2 installed on my computer, FIrefox started flickering all the time a new page gets opened. I have never had such a problem before, nor I had any hardware change in the last two months. I tried several proposed solutions concerning flickering like refreshing, disabling hardware acceleration etc. but nothing helps. I wonder what happened in 90.0.2 which caused that. I just installed update 91.0 and the flickering still persists.

I am using Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit on a Dell Vostro 3750 Laptop if that matters. Thank you

MQTT (wss) Not Connecting in Firefox, Works in Other Browsers

I have a website that uses live data from an MQTT server. The server has proper certs, and works fine with Chrome, Opera, Edge on various platforms (mobile, Windows, Linu… (tuilleadh eolais)

I have a website that uses live data from an MQTT server. The server has proper certs, and works fine with Chrome, Opera, Edge on various platforms (mobile, Windows, Linux). The live data does not display in Firefox and has not in several months/FF builds.

The console shows The connection to wss://weather.ghammer.net:9001/mqtt was interrupted while the page was loading.

No further info is available. In order to continue to use and recommend Firefox, this needs to work as in other browsers.

Any ideas?

Several days ago (approximately 12-3-20) my Internet Download Manager add-on stopped working. Removing it and reinstalling it by using a link provided by IDM does not work. It will work only if I open the webpage where I intend to download (e.g.--YouTube) BEFORE I reinstall the add-on and only for as long as that page remains open. Closing the page and then reopening it somehow deactivates IDM, as it will no longer link to the video I want to download. Have tried everything i can think of to solve this, including deactivating all other add-ons and by uninstalling and reinstalling the IDM program itself. I also unchecked the "block popup windows" management tool within Firefox itself. Anyone have any ideas what is happening? Initially, I also received the error message added below, but as far as i can tell, none of my other programs are set to block IDM. The error message no longer appears.

Firefox RAM usage on M1 Mac has dramatically increased. Unfortunately, b/c the memory usage is in firefox parent process, I can't simply terminate a process corresponding to a "tab", meaning I have no choice but to restart Firefox (closing & reopening all tabs) every hour or so of usage.

This is a new issue from a long-time firefox user (on multiple operating systems). It happened after I upgraded the Mac to "Monterey", which may or may not be coincidence.

Seems like a bug; I can't think why you would want that button to be removed when the window is maximized.

When using built in search (google default) -- browser stops responding. Shows Firefox new tab background when loading the search. Issue resolves on Firefox close and re-open. Paste and go, creating new tabs also fail with same 'new tab background' displayed. Issue is intermittent but appears often, at least 4-5 times a day.

Tested same sample search with google chrome in same time period, no issue.

Issue appeared around the V99 update. Fix would be greatly appreciated - exiting and re-opening browser, dropping all tabs to reload is a serious usability issue.

It worked for a few days then all the sudden, it just stopped loading, if I tried to search something it would just load forever and never show up. Even dev tools would not display, it just was like in a frozen state, I tried downloading the Developer version of the browser, nope! Deleting all program files, Nope! Then when I tried to use edge, smooth as can be. What the heck is going on here?

Hi there, not a question but I wanted to put this out there for those who may be running into the same issue as me. I hate searching for things and not finding a straight answer, and I'm hoping that I can bring light to others who may be undergoing the same issue.

I was infuriated by YouTube (and only YouTube) and how slow it was to respond to pretty much any command I sent via my keyboard. Clicking was fine, but if I wanted to skip 5 seconds in the video by mashing the right or left arrow a bunch, it would buffer those key presses and then register all at once. Basically, YouTube was lagging out of its mind and decided that any kind of action I wanted to take on the page would be done incredibly slowly (by modern computing standards, so ~700ms). I play rhythm games, so any input delay more than about 2ms will annoy me to no end.

This ended up being something called GC or garbage collection, and it was "minor GC" and "non-incremental GC" and something to do with a Nursery being full. Whatever that is, switching over to the Call Tree function in the F12 performance menu (F12>Performance>Start Recording Performance>*input commands on video*>Call Tree) told me that the function GC was taking up around HALF of my time recorded. This gave me a place to start at least, and I'm glad that Firefox has this feature and that it's user friendly. I know NOTHING about webpage design or coding, and it wasn't that hard to figure out what was going on.

Expanding the menus was helpful, and I found out that it was actually my Kaspersky Antivirus causing the issue. I dug around for another hour or so and found this helpful article on how to fix it.

A TL;DR from that article is, if you have Kaspersky, go to Settings>Additional>Network and untick "Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages"

This script injection was doing something to slow it down, most likely trying to scan and monitor the inputs I was making on YouTube to be sure I wasn't getting myself into any trouble. Hope that this helps anyone else having this issue, and any moderation can mark this as solved.

The BBC website believes I am in another country, other than the UK. It currently redirects from bbc.co.uk to bbc.com, with some content no longer being available.

I have checked my IP, and it is currently a UK-based IP address. I do not have any active VPN profiles.

I have refreshed Firefox, deleted profiles, and redownloded but still the issue presists.

This problem is not reflective on any other browsers on the same machine.

As of v.76.0 this is no longer true. The parameters are ignored. If we use no parameters, the menubar, etc. do show, but we can't control any new window features. We have not changed our programs at all, and window.open() parameters still work correctly in Chrome, Brave, Edge, etc. How do we get Firefox to recognize the window.open() parameters (again)?

Half the time my doc doesn't even show up the first time Preview loads and I have to repeat it. The only work-around I've found is to open my doc in Safari and then print - which is insane. What's wrong with Firefox??

I contacted GMX and they have been unable to tell me why I can't access their signup page. I had my brother do a test from his home. He's on a different ISP. He is using a VPN, but this worked off VPN too. He is using the same ESR version of Firefox that I am, and he's on the same Windows 10 version I am. Also, he's using the same router I am with the same firmware. He can access the page without issue.

What I've tried;

I do not get this error for any other site. I've been trying to access this page on and off for about 6 months. It doesn't appear to be a temporary error.

Any ideas what might be causing this? thanks
