This problem comes only with Firefox, all other browsers (Opera, Chrome, Microsoft Edge) don't show this problem. I am developing a website and I use an iframe to show html content from the same area. In http mode it works fine, but Firefox changes spontaneously at every second access to https and doesn't show the content, next time it uses http and it works and so on. How can I suppress the spontaneously cahnge to https?

There is a problem described /questions/976248 here. An answer on that page supplies a work-around. Surely the workaround should be unnecessary. Who wants a supposedly full-screen video partially obscured by a URL? Note also that the web contains quite a few questions/complaints on the matter - and that the workaround is somewhat arcane. EDIT: Moreover, the instructions are unclear!

The problem besets only some websites (including - sometimes? - YouTube - and DailyMotion). The problem may be restricted to Linux. (I forget.) The problem applies to Firefox 91 and to many versions of Firefox earlier than that.

Thank you for your time. If you can, please forward my comment to Mozilla's Firefox team.

When clicking on a hyperlink in a webpage in Firefox 91.0.1, the link fails to open. If I right click it will open. In Preferences/Settings , Firefox is set as default browser and I have left Open Links in Tabs instead of new windows unchecked (I prefer to open in new window). If I right click on the link I can open in either a new tab or a new window.

This does not happen in Safari. Any ideas?

Hello,

Every time I log in to Outlook.com in Firefox a pop-up automatically appears below the address bar. The persistent pop-up: Add "outlook.live.com" as an application for mailto links? See screenshot attached.

Troubleshooting and modifying Settings to eliminate pop-ups and recommendations didn't stop the pop-up. Deleting Firefox beta and installing the standard version of Firefox didn't work either. The only way to manage this pop-up is to click on the "X" button to close it each time I open or refresh my Outlook.com home page. Then I get some screen space back.

Using Edge, the pop-up includes other options to choose from such as "Don't show this again", which I selected. I don't see the pop-up any more in Edge.

Why can't I get rid of this unwanted, persistent, recommendation pop-up in Firefox?

Thanks, Gordon

Hello,

I noticed recently that Firefox 91.0.1 (64 bits) freezes on my PC Windows 10 when I try to download a file, or even to modify download settings in the parameters page.

So, I have deleted all hystory, cookies, and cache and I started in "fail safe mode" (extensions disabled), but same problem.... So I created a fresh new profile, and it worked Ok ! No freeze, no problem.

I have probably a conflicting setting in my main profile, but which one ? How to find it ?

Thank you by advance if you you have any idea to help me.

I truly cannot fathom why a browser, in this day & age, cannot put the list of open tabs & windows in the drop-down menu, in even SOME KIND OF ORDER! But no, it's nothing more than a long list, impossible to filter in any way, that is not in chronological, alphabetical, order of most recent used, no option to list via website or page title, etc. This is so ridiculously frustrating, along with the molasses lack of speed in opening up windows or tabs, that I'm on the verge of just chucking this entire app, for good. Why do our state-of-the-art advanced technological devices and apps, feel more like we're going backwards, and not forward??

We can ascertain that NOTHING seems to help this condition. In fact these threads apply to me as Win 7 / 64 bit apply to me. This started probably about 1.5 years ago.

I too have this problem and yes, it is random. BUT once locked in with this condition, it may "get stuck" for another 5 attempts for the same link. BEST Example, I do surveys every Friday and Saturday night. I use my netscape (AOL) email account. At random, while clicking on the survey link the tab will come up blank and no matter what you do, you CANNOT get this tab to do ANYTHING. No reload, no clicking on a new bookmark, no clicking on home, or typing in the address bar and pressing enter on THAT particular tab. How often does it happen? Maybe 12 times a month (during survey time: maybe every other weekend).

One step further on this. My wife's account on the PC actually does this on a DAILY BASIS REPEATEDLY EVERY DAY when she opens FireFox. In her case, it can ONLY be solved by closing and reopening FireFox after waiting like...say...2 minutes after previously opening it? I have tried opening new tabs etc as mentioned above (including the old right clicky trick and using the "Open in new tab" function). Kinda silly when you have like 27 tabs of blankness. Considering it is her account on the Pc, ok, maybe the "refresh" function might work on her? BZZZT! Nope.

Current version. I can attest that a PC at my 2 jobs that both have Win 7 and at least one, if not both, have 64 bit versions and do NOT display this malady. Also, I did re-install FF about 2 years ago for some other problem. I just ran the troubleshooting more...no go. Per this lead, try https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0... and guess what? No such help . Anyone have have something to kill this bug?

After updating to Firefox 91.0.1 ALL websites show damaged style and layout. Even the browser itself seems to have broken layout elements.

  • Links have a white background box around them.
  • Extension/Theme tabs in the settings are unusable with dark theme (white box around white text).
  • Sidebar background and all objects with white backgrounds (treetabstyle, ... and other plugin sidebar content)

I even tested the version with an empty profile and in the debugging mode - same result.

Is this version broken? when is a working version to be released again?

I'd like to keep the new Firefox upgrade but have my text shown as Black. I've tried changing the Font Color in Preferences but that has no effect. Hi. All of a sudden Firefox on my MAC is displaing websites incorectly. It is happening on all websites. It seems that the background colours / transparancy of text boxes are missing / not being displayed. Also some font sizes or images seem to be to large. I have cleared Cache, history, cookies, deleated Firefox and reinstaled it ? Out of the two images I have uploaded, the one with the transparent background is corect and displayed in Chrome. Also some tick / text boxes will not alow me to tick / enter text.

Hi! I believe this began with the most recent Firefox update but not 100% sure. I am running Firefox 91.0.1 (64-bit) on an iMac. Gmail, google docs, and many other sites (even some of the Firefox preferences options!) are either not showing up or showing up without some lines or (as in the gmail sign-in page case with black lines on the sides.) In docs when I try to highlight something it underlines instead or doesn't appear to do anything. I have attached screenshots that further illustrate the issue. I have gone into troubleshoot mode and the issue is still present. Any ideas for how I can fix this?
