The latest version of Firefox (I have 77.0.1) has suddenly distorted some of the photos on my web page. For example, the first two photos on http://www.yonggee.name/Genera/Gongora.html at the top left have been stretched vertically. Notice the settings are 217px wide and 325px high. A number of other portrait photos are distorted in the same way.

This did not happen until a few days ago after an upgrade to Firefox. I have the same problem in Safe Mode and have Refreshed Firefox.

The problem does not happen in Microsoft Explorer or Microsoft Edge, so it is a Firefox problem.

What has happened? Is this a known error or something to do with the latest upgrade? Can I fix it or does Mozilla need to?

This is driving me nuts.

My desired behavior is that, when I middle-mouse-click on a hyperlink, Firefox launches a new window (not a tab) with that URL.

This is how it was working before a power interruption forced my computer to restart tonight, and my desired behavior has gone away.

The middle mouse button works for other functions; and, middle-clicking on bookmarks in my bookmark bar does launch a new window with that bookmark as expected. However, middleclicking a hyperlink does nothing.

I have browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick = false and in the options menu, "open links in tabs instead of new windows" is unchecked. Additionally I have set browser.link.open_newwindow = 2.

Can anyone help me here? This is driving me slightly batty.

When opening firefox it opens to newtab instead of my homepage which is Yahoo. If I click on the home button it will go to my homepage but I shouldn't have to do that every time. I have cleared the cache and it will work once or twice only then back to the newtab page.

My website, www.orthodoxdelmar.org, won't load in Firefox but will load in other browsers. I get a white screen in Firefox. I haven't had a problem with any other website.

I've tried going directly to specific pages on the site. I've exited and restarted Firefox. I've restarted my laptop. I can't find any setting where I might have accidentally blocked the page.

I'm running Firefox 77.0.1 (64 bit) on Windows 10. Laptop only 4 months old.

What am I missing?

Thank you.

What I need to know is how to get back my tabs that disappeared when you updated Firefox just now? 19h00 June 4, 2020. I don't understand why they disappear - I need them back...please

I have a shopping cart that is now breaking, despite working without a hitch for many years. The behavior happens only when using the FireFox browser. Does not happen on Chrome, Edge, Android, etc. I am seeing this behavior from any customer visiting the cart using FireFox. Every ASP page loads twice. A customer puts quantity 1 in their cart, they are presented with an order of 2. I have traced execution, and every ASP page loops thru twice.

After significant debugging, I have the problem stripped down to the simplest form. ASP page consisting of nothing but VBScript which writes a record to a SQL database. Every write happens twice. Debugger shows 2 GETs -- the ASP page and Favicon.ico Tried to nullify favicon, but the problems remained

Below is the stripped down code. Fairly basic. Creates 1 record in the SQL database under other browsers, creates 2 records under FireFox. Any assistance would be most appreciated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

<% 'DEFINE SQL DATABASE CONNECTION STRING

dim pDatabaseConnectionString, pTrapDbErrors

' database (access, sqlserver, mysql) private const pDataBase = "sqlserver"

' input string filterin type (1-3 being 1 hard, 3 light) pFilteringLevel = 1

' SQL Server local or remote IP in SERVER=

 pDatabaseConnectionString = "Provider='SQLOLEDB';Data Source=HARBORSALES;Integrated Security='SSPI';Initial Catalog='HarborSales'"

' error debug level, trap common DB errors pTrapDbErrors=-1 %> <% ' MAIN ROUTINE -- WRITE A SINGLE RECORD TO THE TABLE. ' THIS ROUTINE RUNS TWICE IN FIREFOX, ONLY ONCE IN OTHER BROWSERS on error resume next

call customerTracking("dummyTrack2.asp", request.querystring)

%>

<% ' SQL INSERT STATEMENT INTO THE DATABASE function customerTracking(pAction, pMisc)

dim rstempgSN, pIdCustomer, pDate, pHour

mySQL="INSERT INTO customerTracking (idCustomer, action) VALUES ('99','dummy')"
 call updateDatabase(mySQL, rstempgSN, "customerTracking")

end function %>

<% ' CALLED DATABASE ROUTINES HERE. 'OPENDB(), UPDATEDB(), CLOSEDB() function openDb()

if varType(Cnxn)=0 or varType(Cnxn)=1 then
  set Cnxn	= CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

  Cnxn.Open pDatabaseConnectionString
end if

  set openDb = Cnxn

end function

sub updateDatabase(mySQL, rs, scriptName)

 on error resume next
  set Cnxn = openDb()
  set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
 Cnxn.execute(mySQL)

end sub

function closeDB()

 on error resume next
 rs.close
 set rs = nothing
 Cnxn.close
 set Cnxn = nothing

end function

Hello SUMO Team!

I always had this question but never really asked it. Why isn't DuckDuckGo or a more privacy based Search engine set as default? You even have to manually add Startpage and others...

It just hurts me how a privacy browser has the Google search engine as default after all, most people come to Firefox for privacy and Google is the opposite. Maybe one of the developers can change that?

Thank you so much for trying to help me and Stay Safe!

With the latest update to 77.0.1 the the little urlbar drop down is gone again. I use this all the time and there are usually 20 or sites I go to that it was nice to have quick access to those urls. How can I restore it with the latest version of Firefox, the previous fixes that were posted do not work any more.

Thanks, Alan

I run Firefox on a number of systems and two of my work computers seem to be unable to check in with the Firefox update servers to get updates. See image for the exact error message.

"Firefox can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Firefox and we'll help you to install it."

My suspicion is my network team is blocking my browsers from getting to the Firefox update servers but I don't know how to test it. One of my browsers is 77.0, the other is 77.0.1. Both of them give me the error in the image. Both of them insist I'm on the latest version of Firefox when I use 'Help/About Firefox' to check.

If anyone knows what data I should collect to get this figured out I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Why is Firefox 77.0.1 becoming harder to use with every update, less and less user friendly, so much so that one has to question the point of Firefox anymore as your leaving your users behind, WHY??? Make it easier to tweak things as I like like them not what some darkroom coder aspires too. Maybe time to dump Firefox and use Chrome or Explorer, same sh1t as being pumped out here.

Please enlighten me thank you.

Windows 10 Firefox 77.0.1 64-bit

I've selected "Always ask you where to save files" in options. When I attempt to download a file, the dialog box appears.

The filename flashes several times, rapidly.

None of the controls work.

I can't change directory, save, or cancel.
I can only close the window.

If the "Save files to" is selected there is no problem saving.

I have not modified it from the default "Downloads"

To resolve this I have: Disabled protection software Refreshed Firefox Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox

   Revo Uninstaller used.
   New Profile created.

Note: I attempted to load a snapshot of the dialog box. I ran into the same issue.

   I can select the file.
  Controls do nothing.
   I can't load the file.

I am at a loss. Help is appreciated.

Hello, I was trying to work on an assignment today and I found to my dismay that downloading images causes firefox to freeze (which I then have to kill).

I was unable to find a solution that could work for me in the forums. What should I do? I do not have any malware on my computer, though I do have autodesk programs.

Thank you for your time.
