There are several posts on this site regarding uninstalling Firefox. I am running current Firefox on current W10 64bit 1903 desktop PC using Ethernet with Spectrum as my ISP. I am having a couple of problems in Firefox that are not happening in current Chrome. 1. Page-not-found 2-8 times a day that resolve every time by simply clicking the "retry" (or something close to that) button. I reset my router to "factory" and installed most current router firmware but that did not help. Netgear Support has been unable to help. 2. In current LastPass addon, I have to re-login to LastPass every time I start Firefox - did not used to do that (a year ago), and in Chrome or Edge that does not happen. I have re-installed the LastPass add-on. I have upgraded Firefox many times and have cleared history/cache many times. So now I want to COMPLETELY remove Firefox, reboot, and then install Firefox from scratch. Can someone please point me to the web page that tells me how to properly remove all of Firefox so that I can re-download/install it from the beginning? I do not care about retaining my Firefox settings or other from my current Firefox install.

The issue arises with the following steps

   find a cell with text (not formula)
   place the cursor in the edit line (formula bar)
   backspace to remove all of the text
   type in new text
   hit enter

A new line, char(10) is inserted after the text. Confirmed with a find function.

It did this with Firefox but not Chrome. Reported in Google sheets forum title "Why are line breaks being added to cells randomly" Can't see how to add link here.

Will not play videos fox news, the video opens but when you click the play button it just spins the curved arrow and never loads: Firefox- updated 70.0.1 64bit and indicates no updates available, updated graphics card, windows 10Pro version 17763, not an N operating system so I did not reload media player, it will play in safe mode, unchecked performance play, None of these changes fixed the problem. They play fine in Microsoft edge.

I have read every article on this I can find, including everything in Firefox. I cannot get videos to stop automatically play. I can get them to not play sound. I have changed every single setting in about:config, media.autoplay. Nothing stops them from playing. I have used numbers from 0 to 5 in media.autoplay.default. Attached is a screenshot of my settings.

I do not have any plug-ins at this point, as I just installed Windows 10 and am configuring my computer.

I am extremely sensitive to these moving videos; they make me feel sick. So I really need them disabled. PCMag is a good example of a site with a million different (types?) of videos playing.

Using Firefox 70.0.1 on macOS 10.14.6. I'm running into two issues that seem related and which I haven't solved. Firstly, there are some websites that refuse to let me log in (notably Flickr) except in a private window. There are others, such as a Leica camera forum, that let me log in but only show images if I do so in a private window. What I've done so far: -turned off extensions for those sites (uBlock Origin and Malwarebytes Browser Guard) -turned off Firefox tracking protection -tried in safe mode -cleared cookies and cache -(in response to a recent thread about a similar issue) ensured dom.webnotications.enabled is set to 'true'

This issue seems to have arisen with the update to v.70. Any thoughts?

I have Firefox 70.0.1 (64-bit) running on Windows 10 Pro. I recently added several addons to firefox on a fresh install (new laptop) prior to syncing to my account from another PC, but despite appearing on the list of addons as enabled, (and all having worked for me previously on my old laptop) the new extensions do not appear in my toolbar or on the list of items to include in the toolbar when I click on customize. I have closed and restarted both firefox and my machine, and removed and reinstalled the addons several times but none of this has helped. I also synced my account and clicked the include addons checkbox and this did not help either.

I have tried clearing history in all ways possible via "clear recent history", I have tried using ccleaner, and I have tried using the computers disk cleanup however nothing will delete the history.

Dropdown list is not working. I tried to uninstall/reinstall, also disabled "using hardware acceleration" and ran Firefox in safe mode. None of the previous attempts worked. Any help would be appreciate it.

The title of my question is a bit hard to understand. Let me try to explain.

My library gives me electronic access to the Oxford English Dictionary (my favorite dictionary, with all those helpful quotes/example sentences!)

What I should get:

1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary

2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)

3. I'm taken to a page that says "VPL Electronic Resource Authentication", where I enter my library card number and PIN.

4. I enter my card number and PIN, then press the Authenticate button

5. I'm taken to to a page that says "Your login was successful." I then press the "Continue ➡️"

6. I'm taken to https://www.oed.com/ where i can now happily use the dictionary

What I experience:

1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary

2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)

3. I'm taken to http://www.vpl.ca/digitallibrary

4. If I go to oed.com directly, it shows that I'm not logged in /authenticated.

The Problem: I recently noticed that decoding youtube videos in 2160p60fps is choppy beyond recognition.

Diagnose: While playing said videos in firefox i was able to observe in the task manager that actually none of my graphics cards video decoding capabilities were used. At lower video qualities/resolutions the hardware accelerated video decoding of the graphics card was also not kicking in, but in these cases my cpu was still able to cope with the decoding load, so I never noticed the missing hardware acceleration. To narrow the origin of problem down I tried watching the same videos in edge, chrome and even downloaded a short 2160p60fps clip to play with VLC and everything worked fine, just not in my favorite browser firefox :(

What i already did trying to solve the problem (in order): -Restart Firefox without addons -Refresh Firefox -Create a new Profile

Additional Info: Nvidia Driver Version 441.20

I don't normally save and restore sessions, but do have firefox set to restore the previous session in the event of a crash.

Recently, following a power cut, such a session restore occurred, correctly restoring all the pages I had open at the time (not many), and the scroll position within the page.

Since this happened, any page I open on one particular site (https://www.theguardian.com) now always scrolls to the end of the page, and I have to manually scroll back up to the top. Once loaded, you can scroll the page normally, but F5 refresh will reload the page and scroll to the end again. This effect is persistent across restarts, and I've not found a way to get rid of it.

I've tried simulating another crash with that site open, scrolled to the top, and I've tried enabling saving the session on exit and restoring on startup - none of this has changed anything. In both cases it restored the session and scrolled to the end.

Any suggestions as to where this effect might be coming from?

Sometime recently (as of 11/3/19) Firefox ceased to reliably print entire web pages. Instead it prints the first, last, and sometimes one middle page. The print preview function suffers the same error. Since the problem shows up in print preview I don't believe that it is related to the configuration of a specific printer. It doesn't seem to be a coding error in the web page as other browsers like IE, Chrome, and Opera render the page accurately. Because I don't print pages often, I can't tell with what version the problem showed up.

When I try to install an add-on it says "only with Firefox - get Firefox Now" and I am doing this from Firefox which I updated to the latest version before trying to install the add-on

Starting yesterday, Firefox will not load the description section of any eBay listings (Chrome is doing the same thing). This is the error:

I am on my Mac Pro, running OS 10.14.3. If I open listings on a Windows machine on the same internet connection, the pages load fine. The problem persists even after clearing the cache/cookies. I need to find out what is causing this, as I use eBay on a daily basis for work. If anyone has any ideas, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. The only extensions I am using are UBlock Origin (pages do not load properly with it disabled, either), Facebook Purity, and New Tab override.

Crash ID: bp-d11e3251-e87c-4846-82c9-4c6400191125 Cannot load in safe mode (Firefox wont open) Uninstalled firefox and reinstalled - still wont open and gives me info that Firefox has crashed etc

For reasons unclear to me, I lost the download function in the Firefox built-in pdf viewer. In place of it is the function to open an existing pdf file (and that works as advertised). See the uploaded image. What happened?! I need the download function back.

The reason I need to solve this problem is that I cannot get Firefox to NOT use the built-in viewer. I have tried changing the associated actions to pdf files to Always Ask, to Adobe Acrobat reader. Nothing gets applied. Help!

I was filling out a Vermont PDF tax form online and made the tragic error of choosing firefox over their default for this. Immediately hundreds of tabs raced across the top of the screen and I had to cancel and cancel and cancel until they all were done. I closed all history restarted my computer and tried again and it happened again with any Vermont tax form that I tried. This is what was appearing in the usual https area while this was going on. file:///C:/users/Lynn/Appdata/local/temp/S-3epdf

Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated I have no tech savvy at all!

When downloading a file, the file download window pops up. The option "Save this file" is automatically selected, which is good. But the OK button is disabled until I hover over it, or for several seconds or something? Sometimes it stays disabled, and sometimes it enabled itself quite quickly. It seems kind of random.

Bottomline is, I want that OK button to be ALWAYS enabled. I want to be able to hit the enter key as soon as the download window pops up. I don't want my browser to make me wait arbitrarily. That's annoying.

I would also like to know why the "Do this from now on" checkbox is disabled. Why can't I make downloads always start right away without that (to me, silly) download window popping up? That's what that checkbox is for, is it not?

I would suggest that disabling a UI control is always bad if it's not absolutely completely 100% crystal clear WHY it's disabled. Instead, display a message or whatever explaining why something can't be done.

When moving tabs from one window to other firefox keeps opening new windows when you miss.

I NEVER want to open a new window by dropping a tab on other window, so how do I disable that functionality?
