The prompt to save login details does not display when submitting the login form on the following site - please try it yourself: http://watch.nowtv.com/mytv/viewing-history

All other sites that I've used work as expected. What part of the site is preventing this option?

Things I have tried/checked: Everything on here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/usernames-and-passwords-are-not-saved, but to summarise: "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" checked; No sites in [Exceptions...]; Normal browsing, not private; No other password managers.

Changing the password field's autocomplete option from off to on using the built-in Developer Tools Inspector. I have also tried the site on another PC with a fresh install of Windows 10 and Firefox Quantum 62 and it does the same.

One hacky way I've managed to save it in the past was manually adding it to my profile's login.json file, but there should be an easier way than this. I also don't think this method syncs correctly when using the inbuilt Firefox Sycn.

Hello!

I'm using firefox dev edition, both Mendeley and Evernote addons have stopped working with PDF files.

I have reset the key "disable_full_page_plugin_for_types" in about:config (using right click > reset), because the value was "application/pdf" (now is blank) but I see no improvements.

When using the web version of the pdf.js both clippers work as expected https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Yesterday I upgraded my Ubuntu 16.04 (apt-get update && apt-get upgrade) and my Firefox Beta upgraded to Beta 62.0b6 (64-bit). However when I restarted it, all my add-ons were disabled, and I can't re-enable them. I was also log out of Firefox Sync, but still have my history and saved password (so I guessed my profile is still ok ?) Does anyone have the same problem ?

Why do my downloads often have strange (but related) names and no file extensions?

EDIT: Okay, seems I didn't quite look thoroughly enough before asking this, apparently an add-on for "Ninja Download Manager" was causing problems. Please disregard this question, I apologize for wasting anyone's time.

For some reason, a lot of my downloads end up with strange names and without a file extension. For example:

If I try to save a PDF file from my university with the following link. https://mylo.X.edu.au/d2l/le/content/235142/topics/files/download/2789744/DirectFileTopicDownload the file gets saved as "DirectFileTopicDownload" (that is part of the link, it has not been replaced or changed like the X has).

Alternatively, when I try to download executable files, often I end up with a string of numbers and letters which Im fairly certain is related to the files in question, though I can't tell how ( a quick google search of the string tends to lead to a related site etc.). FOr example, when trying to download a companion app for the firefox extention VideoDownloadHelper, i get the extension-less file "c036135a-7faa-11e8-87ad-cc9be00dd6d8"

I would appreciate any help in this matter, bearing in mind I have reinstalled Firefox once already.

The application I am developing requires authentication. After logging in, I access the program, for example http://<website>/<program> Now, when I press F12 and look in the debugger, the source for this program displays the login page source instead of the actual program that is displayed in the web browser.

The Inspector shows the javascript that I want to debug, but the debugger > sources shows the login page.

How do I debug the javascript that is displayed in the inspector? It doesn't seem to be anywhere in the Debugger tab of the developer tools

How to make Firefox re-autodiscover proxy autoconfiguration?

Firefox supports automatic discovery of a proxy autoconfiguration script. Specifically, in “Preferences | General | Network Proxy | Settings”, I can choose “(*) Auto-detect proxy settings for this network”, and Firefox will attempt to download <http://wpad/wpad.dat> and use it as the proxy autoconfiguration script.

Sometimes, I want to add another condition to wpad.dat. In order to do that, I use ssh to log in to the machine that hosts wpad for my home network, and edit the wpad.dat file.

Now my question is, how can I reliably cause my running Firefox to re-download wpad.dat, without having to restart Firefox?

Things I have tried (that don’t solve my issue):

  • Turn “≡ | More | Work Offline” on and back off.
  • In “Preferences | General | Network Proxy | Settings”, choose “(*) No proxy”, then choose “(*) Auto-detect” again.
  • In “Preferences | General | Network Proxy | Settings”, choose “(*) No proxy”, click “OK”, click “Settings” again, then choose “(*) Auto-detect” again.

Also, there is an option “(*) Automatic proxy configuration URL” that has an input box and a “Reload” button. Entering “http://wpad/wpad.dat” in the box and clicking “Reload” does in fact reload wpad.dat, but requires entering the URL. I would like to avoid that, preferring autodetection via DNS. The “Reload” button is disabled when autodetection is selected.

I find the way of finding the correct bookmark folder quite cumbersome. What do you think about adding a folder search to the bookmark dialog?

In addition, if I have the following bookmark folder structure:

  • Folder A
    • My Folder
  • Folder B
    • My Folder

The bookmark dialog will display My Folder twice, without me having a chance to distinguish the two. Maybe we can think about some sort of breadcrumb mechanism, or just a tooltip that tells me where that folder sits.

FFq 62.0b9 64bit w10pro. When I open in this FF, a monthly bank statement, the built-in pdf viewer shows only underscores/check boxes/lines. I download the pdf (open w/pdf app) and all data is present. I go to same bank w/chrome, view bank statement online in chrome builtin pdf viewer & all data is visible. I restart FFq w/addons disabled and the problem recurs (no data), so it's not an (apparent) add-on. This is an issue new to me, but it wasn't a problem last fiscal quarter when I last "went to the bank" and viewed the pdf online in FFq. I did brief search here & did not find this issue addressed. Thanks.

I am a subscriber and want to watch Sling TV on my desktop Windows 10 PC using Firefox 62.0b10 (64-bit).

I open the Sling.com website, sign in and see a big blue button that says "Watch Now". When I press it I am taken to a Microsoft.com page ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/sling-tv/9nblggh4x7wp?rtc=1&activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab ) that is devoted to Sling TV. I then press the big blue "Get" button and get a Firefox.exe pop-up window with the following text:

"This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page."

I am totally UN-technical. What am I missing here? Does Firefox need an app? If so, which one? Where do I get it? I just want to watch Sling on my PC.

Hi, as I remember, in earlier versions of Firefox I could have a list of websites in the options menu, which were loaded during startup. Now I cant find this anymore, instead there is an option "Restore previous session". Is this correct? I would very much like to have the previous option. Thanks, Hans-Hermann
