This can be deleted once I get an answer, but I'm asking, because I had a long-running thread on the other forum and need to know if I need to repost my problem I was working on. So when firefox is running slow or crashes, it usually suggests that I refresh the browser. This involves opening the menu, then clicking troubleshooting programs and the refresh firefox. Doing this, usually works. But, for about two months now, I can't refresh.
What usually happens is the browser will close, a new window will pop up, saying it's refreshing, and then the browser would open right back up. But, since March(when this problem started) the browser would NEVER open again. I sat for almost two hours the last time I tried. I even tried to reopen it in a bunch of different ways, but it never would. I usually have to restart my whole computer.
It's still running slow and will crash every now and then. I don't really want to reinstall the browser because I'm not 100% sure how to get my profile back and I have a lot of unsaved bookmarks I can't lose.
I really hope someone can help.

I've recently been having issues where Roll20 (an online tabletop game app) is very slow and laggy. It works absolutely perfectly in Chrome, which I don't use at all other than for trying this out. So, to troubleshoot this, I did the "refresh firefox" option which ported over my previous saved passwords and bookmarks. It still ran poorly. After that, I tried CTRL+SHIFT+DEL to delete just about everything there. Still no dice, and now Firefox encounters random issues such as seemingly random freezing/hanging, or having high CPU usage/1mil K 'memory' in Task Manager, when only having like 3-4 tabs open and listening to music on YouTube in one of them. I'm unsure what the problem is, exactly. I don't think it should be hardware-related as it only started occurring after doing troubleshooting in FF. One thing that raises a flag for me is Malwarebytes AdwCleaner advises my Firefox prefs.js is a threat. Could this be related?

Low .. speed, .. hangs, you developers ... is this that hard to make it multi process?

My RX 580 arrived yesterday and replaced my old GTX 770. It does a fantastic job at gaming so far and overall I'm satisfied with it. My monitor is a 1440p@144Hz monitor that supports FreeSync, which is the primary reason why I upgraded to an AMD card instead of a new nVidia one.
But there's one huge issue that doesn't make any dang sense to me:
Watching YouTube videos at 720p or above in full screen puts severe stutter to them. But that's not the main head scratcher: it only happens when Firefox is the active window! So when I turn on full screen and then click on a blank space on my secondary monitor, the video playbacks completely fine. When I click back into the video the stuttering kicks in again.
It's not like the card isn't capable of rendering the videos fast enough. Heck, it does 4K@60FPS just fine when I click away from video. It's only when I set focus to Firefox that it does this obnoxious stuff.
The problem definitely lies within Hardware Acceleration (not a real surprise, really). It does not happen in Safe Mode, but manually disabling all add-ons and themes changes nothing. Disabling HA fixes the issue somewhat, but it introduces consistent sluggishness to Firefox as a whole, so not a suitable workaround.
It also doesn't happen in Chrome or even Edge. I've already updated my drivers to the latest version and also played around with FreeSync, GPU scaling, and whatnot. All to no effects.
Any ideas?

Clicking on 'Stop it' or 'Wait" only temporarily removes the warning message. The presence of a web page as stated in the warning makes no sense to me.

Many people are still using Windows 7 due to privacy concerns caused by later Window versions. Please continue to support Windows 7 for Firefox?
