I have been happy with FF v43 until I decided to update to v50. It installed but would not launch, saying "mozglue.dll" was missing. I found on Google that some other users had the same problem, with some advice that AVG might be the problem. I found the mozglue.dll was in fact in Program Files - and repeated uninstalls and reinstalls of FF v50 with AVG also uninstalled made no difference. I (mistakenly) found that reusing my original install file of v43 then produced the same result - until I discovered that FF was updating my v43 to v47 within seconds of launching. I finally beat FF automatic updating to get to the Option "do not update," so I have a working, albeit old version of Firefox. Any advice would be welcome - while I fiddle with various workarounds of annoying warnings about my FF being out of date and its knock-on affect on add-ons etc. PS: I am very happily (and stubbornly) Windows XP Professional 64-bit sp2, but I suggest it's not my operating system at fault because other sufferers use a variety of OS. Starting Firefox makes annoying drop down notice "Your Firefox is out of date. Update now for better performance and security." No S*** Sherlock and the reason is that dev team has ruined the browser bit by bit the last five years so I stopped updating after the tab groups were removed and the ah so familiar "use an add-on" answer was given.

So about:config value to disable this notice is all I need?

i download huge file and it failed to download in midle. i want continued (retry download proces) but, accidently i hit clear download history. after that, my failed download is removed too. how i restore it?

Every once in a while an add from Facebook will open up with a fake "You computer is infected call #" page. This hasn't been a problem in the past because I use ad-blocker, flash blocker, and no script. But these pages that I have seen lately ask for authentication ex. "A username and password are being requested by http://errorx3458i.ml.".

How can I disable Firefox from making a popup asking for authentication?

These popups stop the page from being closed because they pop back up. They also prevent going to another tab. I can open up a new Firefox instance and use that. The only way to close this is be very very quick and hit the X on the page just after the one on the popup or use task manager and force close Firefox.

Ok Firefox is officially broke! Been running build 28 forever because it was stable, now had to update to use paypal functionality and it seems like more issues have arisen than solved. All google services no longer work, I get certification warnings on almost every site now, including Google. I can't just access my gmail account by clicking on it from Google search page (my home page) anymore. The google services tab(app) no longer works, to use google maps I have to enter the site in my address bar, and Maps no longer works in search mode, it just sits there no results at all. Did Google Chrome pay you guys so that this would screw up and drive everyone over to them?

Notified that my version of Firefox is out of date. Have been trying for three nights running to download latest version on Windows. Install has been running for four hours tonight and still is not complete. No error messages, the green line keeps running across the screen and I assured it will launch in "one moment". Help, please. Many thanks.

I want to use Adobe Flash player as the only one on youtube. No more then ever since many resent upload do not play in the HTML5 player that Firefox use and I want to do this without extra add-ons.

I foolishly responded to a prompt on my screen suggesting there was a problem with Firefox. I clicked Refresh Firefox and seemed to be on a genuine page. After that I had lost my add-ons, like Ghostery. All attempts to access it failed as I either got an 'Untrusted Connection' message or simply a list of words from the website (in blue). Even the page for add-ons from the Firefox menu does not work. Then I discovered that other pages like Yahoo, gmail, and Wunderground gave the same problem. Firefox has become unusable. I uninstalled it and renewed it, to no avail.

Firefox will not run in safe mode or at all. It always crashes on startup. Only options are to restart or quit. Removed and installed newest version, also removed the Mozilla folder for a clean install.

My browser used to work fine but it now always crashes on startup. It has crashed when I try to go into safe mode. I have uninstalled Firefox and have done a clean reinstall but it has not fixed the problem. I uninstalled Firefox, removed the remaining files in the Program Files and Documents and Settings\username\Application Data folders to ensure a completely clean reinstall, reinstalled Firefox and I still crash. I think that the problem may lie in my operating system.

I am one of the few that still uses Windows XP Media Center, Service Pack III. I use a Compaq Presario computer with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+, 2.19 GHz. I submitted a report and this is the report: Crash ID: bp-d1fac27a-df30-494c-a889-9acd22160913

This morning Firefox starting crashing all the when starting up. What is really bad about this is that the popup about troubleshooting and safe mode screen does not stay up when crash report comes up. For this I have tried to start in safe mode and it crashes as well. Proceeded to download and install latest version, same results. Uninstalled firefox and did a clean install and it is still crashing, even in safe mode. I have read through the previous questions on this and nothing there has worked.

Have restarted my computer a number of times, but have not down a shut down and start.

No new extensions or plug ins have been added. The last Norton update was 1 week ago.

after multiple restarts....it still won't search for anything. My other search engines are working normally. I have updated with the latest version about 1 month ago and there were multiple problems so I had to use system restore just to get any functionality back....this worked fine and for the last month all was well in the world of Firefox. Firefox will not search for anything but it still brings up bookmarked site and sites from my history.....it appears to be redirecting itself into a loop which results with a blank screen....no error message at all. Can you help or do I need to get rid of it ?

This happened recently, so not sure what changed. I know I did not upgrade firefox, it has stayed at version 43 since before this problem happened. When I go to print preview it looks the image attached. Also when I print, it prints a tiny box on a 8.5 x 11 paper. I tried the other solutions suggested here, making sure my margins are 12.7 mm and that print height and print width are set to -1. Set print preview to "Shrink To Fit". Nothing has helped.

If I use IE or Chrome, print preview shows 1 page at a time and the outcome is that a full image is printed. This happens on any website I go to w/Firefox, so its not just google maps.

Any idea on what may be causing this and how to fix it? Its frustrating.

everytime i click a new tab, my home page shows up. I recently changed my home page, now when i want to, lets say facebook, I open a new tab and my home page keeps coming up. is there a way to fix it. TIA

I downloaded the encrypted communications extension to my Firefox Browser. It says to click compose email and then right click to select "encrypt communication" . After I select "encrypt communication", it asks me to put in a password and re-enter the password to verify it. After I re-enter the password, it gives me this message even if the passwords match."THIS IS NOT A SUITABLE OBJECT (DIV)"
