i have just figured out after searching, that it is not possible to change my email for my firefox sync. it is already a nightmare for me that nokia email provider just simply closes down my account which i use for EVERYTHING in my life... i have somany account to change the email in it, but firefox sync doesn't allow me to do that. i really don't want to lose any details of my mozilla settings, so will it be possible to keep it with a non-existing email? or is there a way to open a new account with a new email and merge my settings to it?

The pref.js file in profile directory contains this line:

I have run several malware removers on this. adwCleaner finds and removes the line. But, after restarting Firefox it appears again. I have directly deleted this line from from pref.js but it reappears as soon as I re-open the file. I have made the file read-only which stops the file from being written again - for a while. A sequential set of files are then created, about 3 every time I start Firefox, with names like prefs-1.js. I let this run several days and eventually the prefs.js was change to RW and snapdo was back in!

Something in my system wants to reset this line. IE and Chrome are not affected.

How do I stop snapdo???

Somehow, my browser font settings changed then I started playing around trying to fix it and it didn't work. So this is what i need:

Defaults for: The font The font size

Under advanced: Proportional and size Serif Sans Serif Monospace and size

I have looked around this site for answers and have not found a clear concise answer to this. I am hoping someone has the easy, simple answer to what I have asked. Thank you in advance.

Every time I close FF it will close but next time I try to open it, it gives the message "firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window you need to end previous process". I klick okay. Then it gives a message "plugin container not working". After choosing "close the program" FF starts again. FF is also very slow, and YouTube vids don't start sometimes too giving an error but not always. Also it doesn't let me to open it in safe mode or refresh it and crashes often.

When im using this 35.0.1 version everything works fine no youtube crashes or anywhere else. But if i chose to update ...crashes constantly NOTHING mentioned fixing it? Firefox, i believe this is your dam problem looks like you ignore your complaints of which about this are many ...cannot at least list what is or isn't compatible with your latest train-wreck loaded updates?????????

Video playback (and maybe audio) is not working at all. All tests from http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/graphics/videoformatsupport/default.html and similar failed. (Google Chrome passed all) Even opening video in separate tab -- just spinner and that's all.

Tried all from support forum: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues Tried some other stuff from web. Tried profile deletion, fresh reinstall several times, nothing works.

I have Windows 8.1 and the latest version of Firefox and Java installed. When I try to use the screen recording feature of www.screenr.com/recording the screen loads and looks great until I try to resize the recording window. If I try to do that then the recording controls disappear and the screen recording window does not resize. I tried to attach images, but Firefox would not upload them. It just sat there loading and loading and .....

If I just try to record as is then when I click on "Record" nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java, and installing earlier versions. I checked "about:config" to see if "true" was listed under "java-enabled" and it was. My son has the same setup as me and it works fine on his computer. My wife has Windows 7 Ultimate, but everything else is the same and it works on hers. I tried running www.screenr.com on Chrome and IE, and it does not work in either of those browsers either, so I am really confused.

I have gone into the settings of Firefox and added java.com, and screenr.com to the "Exceptions" box. I have clicked on the green lock in the address bar to see if "install add-ons" feature was set to allow for screer.com and it was. I have opened the Java Configure console and also added screenr.com to the whitelist and still no luck.

I had to clear and restore my Macbook Pro and when I installed Firefox the drop down Bookmark menu is gone. I have the same version of Firefox on two computers and one has the drop down menu and this one doesn't. How do I get it back?

The crash happens each time I try to upload any attachment to an email message. When I open the dialogue box to attach a file to a message or to any other web form the crash happens.

since Firefox as upgrade I have not been able to have Firefox as my default browser . Every time I start Firefox a window comes up and says Firefox is not my default browser I click to make Firefox my browser but if close Firefox I have the same problem .

Oh, please, kind gurus. My MacBook has Bookmark Toolbar Alzheimer's.

My MacBook (10.7.5) stopped showing Bookmark Toolbars in browser windows last night. (I can select it in View items for a one time use but it never reappears. After closing the browser window, It forgets).

Works fine always on my iMac.(10.7.5)

Also on the MacBook, FF Browser "customize" menu button doesn't display anything, no extra buttons etc. Same issue on FF default theme and all other themes.

Works fine on the iMac.

As a researcher, I'm totally dependent on my Toolbar Bookmarks.

Any thoughts would be dearly appreciated.

Lately I am getting the message on the top of my screen that says, "FIREFOX NOT RESPONDING." Also, there is the little circle icon that goes around and whatever I click on does not open up. I shut off my computer manually, and when I started it up again the messages always say: Do you want to start in Safe Mode.....so that's what I did. Now, the color in my task bar (bottom) changed from blue to black. How can I make it blue again. I have no idea what Safe Mode means but I thought I would try it; I won't do it again!

Recently I deleted some garbage history which I didn't wanted. I can give some examples: "Error 404" page , some ad page. I deleted them from the "history" option of Firefox. But it caused a huge problem for me. With those unwanted pages All my work page got deleted and I really need those history back. Now I can I recover those history?

When using Firefox I continue to get these left hand pop-out strips for links to Facebook, Email, Twitter, Reddit, Stumblupon and more. This strip of links covers the text on the page making it impossible to read any article.

How do I get rid of it? I've installed AdBlock, AdPlus, NoScript and still can't get rid of the thing. Here's a picture:

When I open Firefox browser, Avast blocks threat JS:Redirector-BWW. The program states that it is in Firefox.exe.

Due to Avast saying it has blocked this threat, I do not believe that my PC is infected however, even after uninstalling Java, Adobe Flash and Firefox and then reinstalling, the threat still continues. 
 This is not just isolated to "redirector-BWW", there have been others that have "js" in the infection, but "Redirector-BWW" is the most current. After researching these infections, many solutions recommended are to install more anti-malware programs but as I stated, Avast is blocking the infections, therefore I see no need to add more programs if my laptop is not compromised.
 I have Windows 7 64-bit premium as my Operating System.

 Any thoughts you may have would be greatly appreciated.
