I just updated to Firefox 32. When I have FF open but hidden in my Dock on my Mac 10.6.8 it will not open links from my email in Outlook 2011 for Mac. All it will do is unhide Firefox from my dock. Once FF is visible and I click the same link in my email it will open a new tab to that web page. If FF is completely closed and I click a link in an email it will launch FF and open the web page. Only when FF is already open but "Hiding" in my Dock will it not open a new tab with the web page when I click a link from email. I didn't have this problem before the update.

FYI, Firefox is my default browser. I opened Safari and have FF listed as my default browser too. When I did the update I did a brand new download and install.

I am currently using Firefox 32.0.3 now on my Windows XP machine and I hate the look and find it difficult to navigate customizing the thing. It took fifteen minutes to set everything up to even come close to resembling what I used to have. Even with the Classic Theme Restorer it is horrendous. Will Firefox be able to restore the look and feel of 28.0? I would appreciate it if the next update went back to the classic settings and appearance as a default. The only reason I updated was due to supposed vulnerabilities in 28.0, otherwise I would never have upgraded. And as it is, I am seriously considering returning to 28.0 as it is, because honest to God, I cannot stand this thing. I wish I had a screenshot of how it used to look to show as a comparison to how it looks now.

I have used Firefox for Mac for several years. I have always had my pref set to "Clear History when Firefox closes" Up until version 32, Firefox would close in a few seconds. Now it takes 2 - 4 minutes to close. I have to quit Firefox separately before choosing "Shut Down", otherwise the shut down is stopped.

I have read articles here that suggest that unchecking the preference for clearing history is a "solution". Giving up the automatic clearing of history may solve this problem, but now there is a new problem. Do I need to manually clear history every time before quitting Firefox? That is not a true solution.

In my case, why did this problem start with v. 32?

After recent update to Firefox 32, Flash player crashes frequently whenever i open any flash video. I have latest Flash player installed (14).

I tried to uninstall Flash player and installed it again, also tried to instal flash player 15 beta and also tried to instal older flash player 13 but all in vain and problem is same.

Update: i have noticed that this problem occurs in Firefox only while lash Player works fine in Google Chrome..

Please help me to fix this problem.

When I try to open G-Mail & twitter and some other trusted websites, I got the following warning "This Connection is Untrusted" with Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer.

For most of the site, I can bypass by clicking « I understand the risk » but this is a bummer but for Gmail and Twitter, there is no other button than "Get me out of here"

When I go through « about:support » and « reinitialise » system, I no longer have the problem, but not only it erases all my personnal set-up but the problem always come back when I restart my system

Date and time are set right.

I have also tried to reinstall completely FIREFOX to no avail

I am using McAfee Total protection 2014 & Firefox 31.0 on Windows 7 64 bits.

I have had this problem for the last 5 days and only Firefox.

Other Browser ( IE8.0) is working fine

I have searched for solutions but they all failed -

Deleting cert8.db did not solve the problem either

How do I solve this Problem?

I love Firefox and don't want to use another browser. I frequently get the error "Firefox is already running". I even created a batch file to kill the process so I can re-launch it. There has to be a real solution.

The key to my issue is... I use shortcuts to web sites from my desktop. This is what seems to trigger the error (but not every time). Please don't tell me to stop using shortcuts; that isn't a solution.

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit Firefox 32.0.1 (had this same problem with all prior versions too)

the minus, shrink, & exit buttons in the top right of the page is missing? How do I get them back. In their place, it's just black? I can click where I know each is & it works, but I need to be able to see them. Thanks for your help.

Hi! In Ubuntu installed version 24 of Firefox, and there does not work HTML5. For example, at the site http://audiobook-online.com/?page_id=3595 files are played, but at the browser on Ubuntu only visible inscription "Download."

I wish I knew why Firefox has been crashing, but even in Safe Mode it dies. Here's what I do know:

1) Firefox was running fine in Fedora 17. Very rarely a crash even with 30 windows and 100+ tabs on multiple desktops.

2) I upgraded (as in: new install, but same home directory) from Fedora 17 to Fedora 20. No new hardware. Constant crashes - sometimes multiple times per hour. Sometimes multiple times per minute. Sometimes, crashing immediately on 'restart' of session while opening all my tabs back up & I have to do this a few times to get it working... usually, once it's up, it stays running for an hour or two.

3) Reduced windows to 12-15, and tabs to ~30. No effect.

4) Tried creating a new profile; tried different desktop environment (Cinnamon vs Gnome); tried uninstalling Flash plugin, other plugins, and then tried Safe Mode. Crash, crash crash.

I'm kind of at my wit's end. Fedora 20 is updated with latest packages. I am using the Nvidia proprietary drivers, but it crashes even in "Safe Mode", so hardware accel shouldn't be the cause.

I can run memtest86+ (which could take quite a while on a 16G RAM machine), but it would be quite a coincidence that I would have a memory failure right at the time I upgraded to Fedora 20, would it not?

I had so many tabs open at one point (I was in the process of getting rid of them, one by one...if you've used Tumblr, you know what I mean) and Firefox crashed. When I clicked the 'Crash Report' thing and Firefox restarted, all my previous tabs now appeared as a New Tab. This happened about 2 or 3 weeks ago...I've done dozens of crash report restarts, as, one time, it actually did restore all my tabs and I got through a number of them before it crashed again and they all went back to New Tabs. How do I recover all those all tabs? Any help? I really, really need those tabs back.

I had an automatic update install to firefox around 2 weeks ago. Since then it has gone from being the best and fastest browser on my computer to the slowest.

Even just typing this message there is a massive lag between me typing and it appearing on screen. Prior to the update it used to run perfectly. If I try and clear the search bar to type in a new address it can take 5 - 10 seconds or won't do it at all so I end up typing into what's already there! Basically every action I take with keyboard or mouse has a delay attached to it.

I have so far tried to reset Firefox option which has made no difference.

Am running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with 4 GB of RAM. Over half of hard drive space remaining.Chrome which I also have on my PC is running perfectly normal. If possibly I'd like to carry on using firefox! :-)

I'd like to do some tweaking in the config file (about:config) but really need to know how to backup the config file (assuming it is actually a file) before I make any changes just in case I mess things up, or I didn't get the desired result, and need to put Firefox back to the way it was before I started messing with it.

Since I guess it's just one file that all the settings are stored in, what is the name of this file and where would it be located on a Windows 7 computer?

How do I totally remove Shockwave Flash 15.0.0152. Using Ubuntu 12.04, FF 32.0.3. It seems that I have Shockwave Flash 11.2.202.406 installed also...How ???. When I disable SWF 15.xxx, it disables SWF 11.xxx also.

This was happening before I installed Chrome browser. Chrome is the only way I can use my computer without throwing thing about the room.

When I enable SWF 11.xxx, and leave SWF 15.xxx disabled, SWF turns on SWF 15.xxx. Seems these two versions are screwing up everything on my computer. Can't watch videos, FF goes gray screen and stuck, for 30 seconds, then recovers, then goes gray screen, then a message comes up "bad script -- Stop?", etc.,etc.

Lately when I am using T-bird email the screen goes gray and stops working.

Whenever I start Firefox, I see wmiprvse.exe load as a running process. I see this happen by using Sysinternal's Process Explorer. This has been happening since I updated to the current version of Firefox (32.0.1). It also happens whenever I start up the current version of Thunderbird (31.1.1). I have two questions:

1. Is this normal behavior? 2. If so, why is it necessary?

And just to clarify things, I have researched this for HOURS using "my friend" Google. I have also tried to get answers to these questions in various newsgroups to no avail. My copy of wmiprvse.exe is NOT infected (I ran it through Virustotal) and is only located where it is supposed to be on my hard drive.

Please help me by sticking to answers to the two questions I have, and bear in mind that I'm only talking about XP SP3.

Last week, my anti virus software (bitdefender) expired, and I was without one for a couple of days. By now I have reinstalled the updated version and it is fully operational, with no security issues or messages or updates waiting to be installed. It might be a coincidence (but I think not), but since a couple of days, Mozilla firefox no longer allows me to visit google.com/be (I'm Belgian); it claims it can't confirm that the connection is secure. I most often use the search engine duckduckgo, but would still like to be able to use google if need be!

I have tried running Mozilla Firefox without add-ons and there was no difference. Every time, I get this message:

"This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. ..."

Please can someone help me? I run Windows 7. According to the action center, everything is running normally, and internet security settings are "set to their recommended levels". That's as far as my internet problem solving abilities go..

OK, ever since I upgraded to Firefox 32, whenever I skipped to a part of a video I like, including intros for videos like Angry German Kid videos, etc, the gray bar would stop moving. I want Mozilla to fix this and this was not resolved for 32.0.1. I hope this gets fixed for Firefox 33. I have tried Safari and Google Chrome and the gray bar does not stop moving. Please help.

All these while i have been using Hotmail and it's fine.Until recently,after i log in Hotmail it will say

"We can't connect to Outlook.com right now. Please try again later." 

then after i refresh it said

"This Connection is Untrusted

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. " i had seen Hotmail asking others to contact Mozilla to solve this problem instead.

When Verizon changed its email sign in process to a two page step, Firefox auto-fill no longer places the correct email password for the corresponding accounts in the second page of the sign in process. Auto-fill seems to remember only "one" password, and that is the password I most recently hit "remember/update password" for. When I try to sign in to the 2nd or 3rd email account, and hit remember pass word for those accounts on the 2nd page of the sign in, the auto-fill then tries to use these new passwords w/ the previous/primary account. I have cleared cache and history, but I am reluctant to clearing all passwords since I've got about 70 of them for website sign ins. I am using a MacBook Pro, OS 10.8.5.

The wheel on my mouse will not work with Google Calendar. It works everywhere else. It also works with Google calendar on IE. Therefore I believe it is a Firefox issue.
