Since upgrading to Firefox 29, Firefox no longer closes properly. Error message says something like "process is running, close process or restart system". This began immediately after upgrading to Firefox 29. Running Windows 7 Professional (SP1). Firefox 28 worked fine. No changes other than to upgrade Firefox. Cannot keep restarting my system to use this browser. Will have to switch to an alternative if this bug isn't fixed. Have used Firefox from the beginning but this is a deal breaker. Hope you can fix it. No time for workarounds and inspecting plug-ins. The problem clearly lies with this version of Firefox.

I can see where the bookmarks toolbar should go, as when I deselect, it goes away, but when selected, I cannot see the bookmarks that are listed in my bookmarks toolbar. I can see them when I choose show all bookmarks, just not as a one button item I had before in the bookmarks toolbar. Not happy. Is there a fix, or should I look to Chrome?

Since the update to Firefox 29 I have been suffering from a glitch that causes the Session Restore to not function correctly.

I have checked over on Bugzilla and not found a bug that does the same thing so I am asking here in case anyone else suffers from it and/or if there is a potential solution.

The problem occurs when Firefox crashes and attempts to restore the previous session. However, when Firefox restarts "about:sessionrestore" is shown in the Tab, but the page itself is a blank white page. Further, checking the sessionrestore.js shows that the previous session is still stored there, but cannot be loaded for whatever reason.

Without touching the sessionrestore.js file, manually typing "about:sessionrestore" in the address bar does fully load the about:sessionrestore page, but it shows the previous session as blank and wipes all the previous session data from sessionrestore.js.

Anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it?

I've attached the about:crashes entry for it here: 75492a6a-ff78-4388-9d97-e2c222140513

Also, I do have Session Manager and Tab Mix Plus installed, with Session Manager as my default manager, though currently I have Firefox set to load my Home Page at startup.

I installed the newest update of Firefox 29.0.1 and before the update, everything was working just fine but after the update, the whole area above the address bar is blackish and there is no close button for tabs and even I click on a particular tab, it won't open it unless of course I use any keyboard shortcut. Please guide me to fix this problem ASAP. Thanks!

My 'old' Firefox crashed a bit ago, and the 'new' version installed on me. All my add ons & book marks are gone, including several saved sessions.

I tried restoring to a default state, and also found the Old Firefox data file on my desktop. Please help!

Note- I'm pretty 'computer illiterate', too.

Just in the last few days some major websites have not been opening - Google, BT Yahoo, and Facebook, yet some lesser known ones which I use are working well. The following message appears after a prolonged period (10-20 seconds) :

"Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).

Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap"

Due to the fact that Google is one of the problematic sites I can't even Google it, although when I ask a friend to do so, the results seem to point to a problem within Firefox. I am unsure if this is correct, as IE is also problematic with these sites too. I have scanned my PC for viruses and it appears to be clean. My ISP has checked and they can see no problems with the network. I can also ping external sites, as well as the router itself. I don't seem to recall these issues until the latest update was installed, although that might be coincidence.

Any help will be gratefully received.

I'm looking at three different pc's - two are on a domain, the other is from a different domain and network. All three systems report that "updates are disabled by your system administrator" in the help, about firefox screen.

To my knowledge, the system administrator team (myself and co-workers) have not done anything to disable this. It also seems odd that a random laptop not related to my business' domain would have the same error.

What is causing the updates to be disabled? How can this be enabled?

Hi, I keep having a screen open up in my Firefox that says: "Recommended You are currently browsing the web with Firefox and it is recommended that you update your video player to the fastest version available. Please update to continue. "

Now, I have checked with Mozilla and I am running the most up to date Firefox. I am also having all these weird issues to do with pop ups and tabs opening of their own accord with redirections which is not helping.

What can I do to rid my computer of this happening? Thank you.

I am using Firefox 29.0.1, and it fails to end the process after opening Gmail. I am using the standalone Linux build on Ubuntu 10.04. All add-ons have been removed, and the theme is set to default. I have deleted the default profile and created a new one. I have also cleared browsing history, cookies, cache, etc., and reset Firefox.

During normal browsing, the process will close in about 1 second after exit. After checking Gmail, the process hangs continuously. I have waited for over 5 minutes for the process to close in Firefox 29, but I eventually had to kill it. This bug occurs every time I check Gmail. I have tested the latest Beta version, and the problem persists. I have also modified the History settings as mentioned in other posts, but the process still remained after exit. Please advise if additional information would be helpful.

Running Windows XP,Firefox 29.0, and Adobe Flashplayer 13. Computer acknowledges install but won't display player. It shows itself for a few seconds and then the black window disappears and nothing else happens. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried stand alone installer, everything that I've seen suggested. Is there some kind of block or timeout mechanism I'm missing?

Firefox 29.0 and 29.01 don't appear to save cookies for several sites I visit regularly that requre login & every time I visit them it means 2-step verification. It looks like the deed is done but the next time I visit those sites, I have to again go through 2-step verification. I have Firefox set to remember history, which is supposed to include saving cookies, etc.

I cannot figure out how to change the names of folders and reorganize my bookmarks. The new method of just clicking on the star and getting all bookmarks placed into an unsorted folder drives me crazy! When you click on the star the second time, you can designate where the bookmark goes, but if you create a new folder for it, you do not get enough time to type in the folder name, so now I have a bunch of "New Folders." This is much more difficult than the previous version of Firefox.

Since I updated to Firefox 29 I have got the following problem: if I have a longer session and I open more and more tabs and windows (e.g. 30 tabs in 2 windows, so not that much...), Firefox crashes. I haven't had that problem before. So I also reset my whole profile and started with a clean one, but the problem is still the same. (Crash ID: eg. bp-0833c256-71df-494b-89d0-78b572140522)
