Been using Firefox for years, just started having issues with it not being able to keep my bookmarks. Tried the entire help section for this issue, but it did not fix it. So I uninstalled and reinstalled v19.0.2.

Now each time I open firefox it asks me to Choose User Profile and none of the earlier profiles are in the selection area. So I create a new profile. When I close Firefox and open Firefox again, whether or not I restart my computer, the Choose User Profile box comes up again. But the profiles are in the folder location "profiles". Any suggestions?

Recently parts of the text but not all the text on a webpage has started to blur or distort. Sometimes this distortion moves to the right. If i hover my mouse over the distortion or scroll the page it disappears. This is especially annoying on Facebook ect. I have not noticed this problem in IE or Chome but i havn't used either for prolonged periods to be honest. It's hard to test what causes it because the problem is intermittent, Facebook is affected the worst but have had this problem on other websites including this form and even in the Addon menu.

I have tried, running in safe mode, disabling plugins and clearing the cache none of which have solved the problem.

Since my last Firefox upgrade (Mac 19.0.2), many websites that I rely on, that worked perfectly well in prior versions no longer work, either partially or fully (examples: Pandora, Apple Support, My Banking Site, Firefox Support--can't use the reply button, etc.). In some cases, the site won't load at all, but in many cases, simple functions like buttons just don't work. Whenever this happens I switch to Safari and everything works perfectly well. I have tried all the solutions offered in other parts of this support site (clearing cache, cookies, resetting, checking proxy settings, etc.), but none of this makes any difference. I like Firefox, but I'm so frustrated, I'm ready to give up on it.

I want to reset Firefox to troubleshoot, but I dont want to lose this massive session.

Is there a way I can reset firefox and then reload my session?

Also i attempted to "Automatically Add Troubleshooting Information" and the response I got was:

   Ensure this value has at most 30,000 characters (it has 33,418).

If I go to Tools-Extensions some of my add-ons have updates are available. After I download it says it will be installed after restarting FireFox but it does not. I'm not sure update is being down loaded, but it looks like it is. The Progress bar moves forward but it does not show on down load page. I'm using Mac OS 10.6.8 with FireFox 19.0.2

I always relied on the automatic connection to the wifi router landing page. This is in practice not an issue when I am using my own portable router (MIFI 3352), since I can easily connect to the router just typing the IP address in the Firefox address bar. Nevertheless that might be a problem if I try to connect to a public wifi router, whose address might be different from the standard 192.168.1.1 .

I do not remember whether the behaviour of Firefox has changed after I have updated to the last version via "yum update", but I am almost sure that I did so recently ...

P.S. I have installed the troubleshooter, but this is not relevant, since I am now working on my Desktop workstation with optical fibre Internet connection and not of my wifi connected portable. Also the portable has got version 19.0.2

Here's the sequence of events:

1) Start FF on my MBP (OS 10.8.2), and retina display works properly.

2) Connect my MBP to a 24" external display, which has max resolution of 1920x1200 (set as primary). FF displays nicely on external display.

3) Disconnect external display and FF is now pixelated on MBP retina. Refreshing System Dispay preferences doesn't seem to help, or I haven't found the magic technique.

4) Restart FF and all is well.

So the issue appears to be FF not recognizing the need to revert to Retina resolution.

Due to a legacy application, we must continue to use an old version of Reader with Firefox. Firefox 19 changes it to the built-in viewer, and once someone has upgraded, setting "pdfjs.disabled" to "true" changes the action to "Always ask" (not back to Reader). If I set it through Tools and Options, it only changes it for the current user.

I need to be able to apply to set this for all users, and preferably in a way that can be deployed to many machines.

Periodically, Firefox 19.0.2 will completely lock up. All I can do is use Windows task manager to kill it. then Firefox will not launch again (but firefox.exe shows in task manager) until I reboot the computer.

After rebooting, the Swagbucks toolbar is gone from Firefox. It's not anywhere in the plugins or addons or anywhere to re-enable, IT'S GONE.

So I have to reinstall the toolbar, and it works until Firefox locks up and deletes it again.

P.S. Fix the scrolling to support ALL devices just like every other web browser and application. This has been broken since Firefox 4.0. I have a 4-way scroll button on my laptop (with vista Ultimate) that works with everything except Firefox. Simple fix? Use the same HID API everyone else does. Microsoft provides that so programmers (such as those who code Firefox) don't have to write their own support for everything - that's the major point of an OS like Windows.

Firefox keeps on opeing up where i left off instead of starting with my home page. I am using the lastest firefox with windows8. Dosen't happen with windows7. This has happened with the latest update.

I have a long term, normally used instance of Firefox 19.0.2 (Windows 7).

I wanted a separate instance of Firefox. Using IE, I downloaded and saved a setup file of 19.0.2 into a specific folder, I installed it into that folder.

Upon opening it from that folder, it had the Bookmarks, etc. from the original instance. Stupidly, thinking it was a separate installation, I deleted the Bookmarks and Bookmarks from the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Is there any way to recover the Bookmarks? Where are the Bookmarks/Toolbar Bookmarks saved; and what is the file name? I have a good recovery program, Recuva, from CCleaner.

I have run a deep scan with it. There are some recoverable files. But, what am I looking for, and where/how do I insert them if recovered? Is there any hope (a gazillion folders and Bookmarks)?

Then, whether recovered or not, how do I create separate instances of Firefox, that do not share any files? I don’t mind if the add-ons/extensions, and scripts are duplicated, but I can do that separately.

Also, “firefox.exe –p”, which worked previously, now will not work. The error message is:

"Windows cannot find ‘firefox.exe’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

i've been using Firefox since FF12 (now ff19) and every time i use a search function on a site eg winehq and select a link from the results then click on the back button i am immediately hit with the Document expired page and have to click on try again then resend regardless of the browser.sessionstore.postdata setting which is currently at -1, i have searched for an answer and it seems that many users of firefox have the same problem and all given the same answer to set the browser.sessionstore.postdata to -1 which clearly does not work. Please give us a way to turn off this annoyance.

The error occurs when we get ads, primarily on Juno.com. Is this a problem with Mozilla Firefox, or with the ad files? How can I correct the problem?

When I search with Google, as I scroll to near the bottom of the page, the next page of results automatically loads. I can never get to and use the similar searches, or "Searches related to ***", which are at the bottom of the page, as the next page loads and focuses at the top of that next page. Also, there is a bar with the page number, and a field with a "Jump to" command with a pop down arrow with page numbers, and up and down arrows beside it which go up or down one page if used.

This does not happen with, say, Bing, nor if I use Int Expl (aagh).

I have no autopage type of add-ons, or plugins.. I may have had an add-on at one time. There are a bunch of autopager "strings", or lines, in about:config. How do you remove them, if that is the problem?

How do I stop this from happening? It is extremely annoying.

I cannot do an auto update to the latest version. Whenever I try to accomplish this I get an error message:

When i "awaken" the computer, a small "window' appears that shows the Fire fox logo and is headed "express settings'. Where the space for entering any choices are to be made, it is all black and I cannot "X" it out or close tha the window.

Before whenever I pressed ctrl+shit+t it would just open my most recently closed tab, but now for some reason it reduces Firefox into the hidden icon folder in the right side of the taskbar(next to the wifi and battery). Has anyone else had this problem?
