Firefox is my primary browser. I get this Network protocol error message so often now that I am considering using another web browser. See below It happens with sites I routinely use. I have tried several of the solutions from Firefox and also searched other solutions online to no avail. I like the Firefox web browser. Can you provide me some other solutions

Hey there, I had two windows in firefox open, one of which had a lot of tabs. I was using firefox on my surface pro, and then got up to get a snack. I came back, and the window, which I had been using for some time, was gone. The other window was still open, and firefox had not been closed. I thought I would just open it up by restoring recently closed window, but it was gone. I routinely clear my history, but even tabs that I just had open 5 minutes ago are missing from my history, like I never opened them in the first place. What is going on?

I encountered a website today for which the reCAPTCHA dialog wouldn't appear. This is not a case of the endless blue circling of the reCAPTCHA screen. In this case, the reCAPTCHA screen does not appear at all.

I thought it was a problem with my account at the website since nothing happened when I clicked LOGIN. It wasn't until I tried Edge and the reCAPTCHA dialog appeared that I realized the problem was not with the website, but with Firefox not presenting the reCAPTCHA dialog.

I do not know whether the problem is with the site specifically since I have not encountered any other sites recently that required reCAPTCHA authentication.

Currently running Firefox v125.0.3 (Standard Browser Security) on Windows 11 Pro (v10.0.22621 Build 22621)

My default search engine is Duck Duck Go. I frequently use a VPN.

I am usually in North America and want to search sites in North America. When I run a search by typing a search term in Firefox, I get results beginning in UK, and I see that a blue toggle switch has been set to UK. (See image.)

This started 2-3 weeks ago.

How do I set things so that my searches begin in North America?

I have checked "about:config" preferences and do not see anywhere that UK is specified. I don't see a region preference setting, either.

My yahoo homepage on firefox looks totally different than it did last week. Chrome and edge still look like the home page should but firefox does not. I screen shared with yahoo and they said it was a firefox issue. Anyone know how to make the homepage look like chromes and edge? I added pics from edge and firefox for comparison.

when I log into wetransfer.com the file transfer box is greyed out and I cant use. It works in Microsoft edge.

i.e. surfing around german site.. .leave it german, but i if i am interest in "german.de/talkshow" select it and translate only this

i see option to translate EVERYTHING and use some exception, but its the opposite of what looking for

Hi, I can't use Firefox because a captcha won't complete loading. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache and disabled add ons. I am using a vpn (PIA). Chrome and Edge both load and operate OK. Thanks in advance.

Captchas are an ongoing issue. Firefox seems to have a LOT more captchas than other browsers. Is there a problem between Mozilla and Google?

I use Disqus daily. A few months ago it became necessary to disable the shield in the address line. Yesterday captcha quit working. I input my email and password and click captcha and the circle starts spinning and never ends. This happens on all sites using Disqus.

 Is there any way to get Firefox to work with Disqus and Captcha?

I simply want to use a password to open Firefox. I don't want to set up Firefox sync. How can I set up a simple password as permission to open Firefox without accessing sync?

I had downloaded a couple of pdfs from google drive via private browsing which were stored in my 'Downloads' folder. But as soon as I closed the window the pdfs were deleted. I had also downloaded a zip file which wasn't deleted.

I use google as my default firefox home page on my HP laptop. recently a second tab opens at the same time. "how to set the home page" --I've tried closing it and restarting the laptop, but it continues to pop up every time I open firefox as a 2nd tab. I am/was happy with my homepage opening to google. I need to go over the head of the Mozilla Triage manager who has left https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1406865 open without a resolution for **seven years**. How do I do that? This is a bug reported in Firefox 57 and **still** not fixed in Firefox 125. I cannot find any support category anywhere in the Mozilla website that covers appealing a decision by one of their employees. The last comment from this uncooperative indivisual is "But given we support it on macOS and Windows yeah, it seems not very objectionable." Who is this **clerk** to override the fact that a number of customers very much find this "objectionable". I cannot find anything on https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/contact/ that addresses this issue. I cannot find even a surface mail address for Mozilla. For example my complaint has nothing to do with any of the following:

Yes I am having a problem with Firefox, but the clerk responsible has, through sitting on this issue for **seven years**, basically told the entire community that he doesn't give a reservoir.

In particular I feel this unacceptable behaviour should be brought to the attention of senior management, but there are no contacts for anybody in senior management.

Workflow: I have a firefox instance already running. I want to launch a new firefox in safe-mode to test something without disrupting my existing firefox.

Problem: I try to launch a new firefox in safe mode using `firefox --safe-mode`, but firefox just opens a new window NOT in safe mode.

I think it may because firefox in safe-mode requires launching launching from a new instance rather than attaching to existing instance.

`firefox --help` shows a flag I can use:

--new-instance Open new instance, not a new window in running instance. --safe-mode Disables extensions and themes for this session.

So I run `firefox --safe-mode --new-instance`

now I get error popup with message:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile."

Now I think what is the point of the flag "new-instance" if Firefox doesn't support multiple instances?

Regardless, how can I launch firefox in safe-mode without disrupting my existing firefox instance and without relying on creating a profile just for this?

Hey folks, I've been noticing something peculiar with Firefox that's been bothering me lately. Whenever I try to watch videos on YouTube in resolutions above 1080p, they tend to randomly buffer. It's quite frustrating, especially when I know my internet connection is stable and other browsers don't seem to have this issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem with Firefox? There seems to be a new function that opens a quick search window when I press the apostrophe key. This function is active on many websites, and I am using Firefox 125.0.3 on a Macbook Air.

This new function makes it very difficult for me to practice touch typing in Firefox, and I would like to turn this function of.
