I have Yahoo as my home page and usually search from it starting out. I noticed, however, after the last update or two in the last week that when I hit search, it opens the search results in a new tab. It didn't use to do this, but I can't find any Firefox option to make the searches stay in the existing tab. Can anyone help with this? I don't think it's Yahoo's settings, because I'm not signed into it. It seems like the Firefox update created this new behavior.

Using Windows 10 22H2 and Firefox 122.0.1 Yesterday I had no problem opening the map on purpleair.com. Today I can't. Get error:

Error: Failed to initialize WebGL

TypeError: DE is undefined.

But I can open this same website map in Google Chrome browser with no problem. What changed in Firefox and how do I fix it. And why do I need to fix it, since it all works fine in Chrome

Thanks a bunch,

Mike

Support,

The USPS website does not work properly with Firefox!! The Home page loads okay but there are multiple other issues with links not working. For instance all of the links under Quick Tools do not work except this one: https://www.usps.com/manage/po-boxes.htm. Other things don't work either.

Everything works fine that I tried with Google Chrome though! Please address soon.

Thanks

In my location, my only option for internet access is a mobile hotspot with limited data. Consequently, I am always mindful of my data usage when using my laptop. Despite primarily browsing static pages, email, and other low-data activities, I often find my data usage higher than anticipated. The main culprit comes to mind to be videos embedded in news articles. Sometimes, with multiple tabs open, I switch to an inactive tab only to find a video playing. Although I've configured my Firefox preferences not to autoplay videos, it seems that YouTube videos still override these settings.

So, my question is, when a tab is inactive, does Firefox stop all data transfer for that tab in the background? And if not, what are the solutions to stop any background data other than continually closing all tabs?

Also, any suggestions on this topic are appreciated, especially from and to users who also live in remote areas without fiber, DSL, etc.

Hi there,

Using up to date Firefox on a Mac, London UK. Recently returned from travel in Japan. The bank cards auto-fill stopped working & Auto-fill does not appear in Privacy Settings (it is not there – no need to request a check please:)?

Spent 2 hours on Mozilla support/community etc. No answers – including 'make a new profile'...(& why - won' that affect history etc)?

Would be very grateful for any help please?

With thanks,

Alex

Hello,

I use the Firefox browser on my phone and laptop, and have Lockwise on my phone where all the passwords are stored. Until yesterday, all these passwords would always appear in my Firefox browser stored passwords. Now, they only show up in Lockwise on my phone and do not show up in the phone or Laptop Firefox browser.

I have followed this guide: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/end-of-support-firefox-lockwise and am syncing passwords across devices, but this did not solve the problem.

Has anyone else encountered this and know how to fix it?

Thank you.

Hello, For whatever reason, I can't view Youtube livestreams or movies, and the quality on regular videos is limited to 360p only (with some offering the upgrade to 720p - though this often causes the video player to freeze). I've tried disabling my adblocker, my other various plugins, even opening the blocked content in a private window or troubleshooting mode - still no dice. Is this yet another one of Youtube's anti-firefox tricks? is there any way to fix/bypass this?

Firefox is my longstanding browser (on Windows 10). I wish to make use of the Firefox PDF viewer, but have been unable to gain access to it. If for the purposes of an attachment I click on "Open with", Firefox does not appear among the viewers offered. I'm not tech savvy, so a step by step (idiot's) guide as how I can gain access to and then make use of the Firefox as my default PDF viewer will be greatly appreciated, please.

Today a website told me I needed to enable JavaScript in order to continue, despite the fact that it is enabled. At first, when I received this message, I turned off the "NoScript" extension and tried again, but the website still gave me that same message. So then I went to the about:config page. and it showed that JavaScript is enabled because it showed a value of "true". This sort of thing has happened more than once in the past. I'm forced to go to another browser such Microsoft Edge or Chrome, where I do not encounter this problem. Why is this happening in Firefox, and what can I do about it? My operating system is Windows 10 Professional, and if you need any other details, please let me know. I will appreciate your assistance.

Hi all. I've been experiencing over the past months an increasingly frequent problem where trying to load a web page shows a spinning wheel for as little as 3 minutes but sometimes until you finally lose patience and close it. When this occurs, closing this tab has a 2-3-second delay.

After the problem ceases temporarily, I will be able to load the same page a few times afterward without problem, and it will work for some time until it happens again. I can see no rhyme or reason to it. When it occurs, no pages of any sort will open; I have to use another browser to try to find solutions. When the current recurrence of the problem stops, all pages that were stuck with spinning wheels now resume loading again at the same time. It's like something is breaking internally then resuming some 3-20 minutes later.

This does not occur on any of 3 other browsers (Vivaldi, Yandex, Opera) that I have tried. I have never run into this issue until it started several months ago.

I have gone through the steps shown in the help document for pages not loading on Firefox but loading in other browsers. I have turned off the indicated settings (IPv6, forced HTTPS, no proxy, use only my ISP's DNS, etc.), removed all extensions, and completely reset my profile to defaults.

Just don't know what else to do here. It feels like it's got to be a bug. I do know that I have recently in the last months split into running separate work and personal profiles. It's affecting both profiles, and one of them was created at that time. So also wondering if it could be a problem with having separate Firefox threads/processes running and causing problems with each other, since I constantly have both profiles up separately.
