Hello,

I recently lost my passwords on my desktop browser. I went through the troubleshooting and checked the alternative profile which also didn't have them. I then found the logins.json file and noticed that almost all of the entries (apart from the 7 that do show up) have a 'deleted: yes' line. How do I 'un-delete' them and re-import them?

I would really like a feature where I can highlight content within PDFs like in Edge. It's really helpful because I usually store PDFs temporarily, and it doesn't make enough sense to download each and every PDF I have to work with. The 'draw' tool isn't particularly helpful when you're working on a Mac 24/7 with no other devices except an iPhone. I've attempted using Yawas, but it doesn't work in the native PDF viewer because it isn't a website!

Please help...

I Cleared the cookies for this website, and im in private browsing mode, and yet I'm still logged in when I refresh. I also have all cross site cookies blocked I believe (see screenshots), so i'm wondering why is Firefox not logging me out how am I still logged in?

I also tried switching to Strict mode in the firefox settings, still logged in!

My Firefox account and associated passwords were left open on another notebook. I have now changed my Firefox sync login password from a different PC and signed out of other devices. Can a user on the previous PC sign in with a password that is saved in Firefox?

Some of this will likely sound ridiculous.

Yesterday, I noticed my ad blocking wasn't working. I eventually realized Ublock had been uninstalled. I'm still dumbfounded about how this happened, I mean, you really can't do that by mistake.

Today, same thing happened with loss of ad blocking. This time, I noticed UBlock was not on my toolbar. It also did not appear in the Puzzle Piece drop down menu. It was still installed, but inoperable. I had to drag 'n drop it's .xpi onto the addon manager to revive it.

The other day , I posted about blank buttons on my toolbar. Not only blank, but not operational for whatever addon they represented. Today, after the Ublock reinstatement, once again blank button appeared.

I develop profiles in stages, like templates for further enhancements. Addons, etc. Before I did anything, I went to three of those more basic profiles, one more further developed in terms of customization, to compare with the current one.

They both not only had blank areas where before there were icons, but UBlock was uninstalled on all of them.

Have you ever seen anything like that?

I know, I know, you think I'm crazy!

BTW, I cleared the startup cache on both, as was suggested in the previous thread, and the icons returned to the toolbar, but in two of them, they are still missing in about:addons

For some reason when I try to download a screenshot of [this tweet] it fails every time; I tested it and it's just that tweet specifically. This has never happened before and I assume it's just a bug since copy-pasting still works. Any help with this?

One screenshot shows an image from the faa.gov website from Chrome that is clean and easy to read. The other image shows the same website from Firefox, with the menu popups already activated when I have not selected or hovered the mouse over anything. They just open automatically, and I cannot make them go away. Screen is cluttered, making this webpage unreadable and unnavigable. Other pages on website do the same in Firefox. This DOES NOT HAPPEN in Chrome. Some setting is off. All selections I have found for popups make no difference. This happens with other websites. How do I fix this?

Hello, I have a curiosity question, related to privacy. I recently found that eBay was able to confidently identify me when I would not have expected. By the way, I work in tech, often dealing with security and basic privacy. I am well aware of "fingerprinting," but typically that is used to break up people into subsets, or cohorts, not individually identify the user. And of course, even when it does, it typically won't show/tell the user that it has successfully done so. Anyway, here's what happened:

1. I visited eBay using FF's "Private browsing" in "Strict" mode, over a VPN connecting to country "alpha". This was running directly on the host OS of Windows 10, with a non-default (but common) window size, and one very common browser plugin. eBay marked me as belonging to the country of my VPN endpoint, and set the region and currency accordingly. 2. I close the private browsing window, change VPN endpoint to country "beta", and re-connect to eBay. It still recognizes the previous region settings, even though my VPN endpoint is in a different country. Thinking maybe cookies were not wiped until the browser session was completely terminated, I go a little further; 3. Close all browsing tabs, go to settings, and manually clear all data (cookies, cache, etc.). Change VPN endpoint again. 4. Connect to eBay again. It still recognizes me. Note that I have not changed any other signals about the session. Browser window size has not changed, still the same OS, the same browser version, the same browser plugin. I did these tests in quick succession, which could also be a signal to them. But this session did not carry a cookie, and was coming from a different IP address. All cached data had been cleared (supposedly, at least).

Is eBay's fingerprinting just that good, that they actually identify me individually, without a cookie and coming from halfway around the world? Or is there some other tracker or signal they are able to follow me with, to re-identify me?

I was running FF on a transparent virtualization layer, so I just wiped all data stored by FF since the testing started, switched to another VPN endpoint, and just like that, eBay had no idea who I was again. But why didn't FF's Private browsing, or the built-in data wipe (cookies & cache) de-identify me? It can't see it having been advanced fingerprinting, or it would have seen through me wiping the virtualization layer.

Thank you!

Recently I tried to allow the Firefox Browser access to the web past the Windows Firewall, but I realized I don't know where it's stored. I've looked up and down my files and I can't find it anywhere; I don't have it as a shortcut. I use it everyday via the taskbar, but I nothing seems to help me find it. Checking the App settings on windows gets me nothing. Right clicking anything relating to it gives me nothing to check its origin

Searching it up anywhere on my File Explorer at most gives me the same 4 BROWSER files, which I'm unsure if are even important IMAGE RELATED (They say they were last modified in 2019, despite me only getting Firefox a few months back)

Ultimately, I'm simply having trouble finding where Firefox is stored on my PC. It works just fine right now

I have lost the little navigation segment in Google Maps when in Firefox.

Things that I've done with FF recently are to install on my iPhone, which required a lot of logging in, etc, and which doesn't seem to have synced correctly.

Is there something that I need to set/reset?
