When I installed Firefox, I struggled to find a theme that was easy for me to see. So many had dark borders/backgrounds or busy backgrounds or transparent. It appears that I'm using the default at present and am happy with everything but the visibility of those little icons. Is there is a way to make them darker? Thanks

It keeps recurring. This time it took 3 weeks from the time that last post. As I said in the past post, the problem is a corrupted 'sessionstore.jsonlz4 file.

My evidence is that when i ran about:support - Troubleshooting, the problem was still happening.

I just mounted a backup profile, created during the last incident. Works fine. I took the sessionstore.jsonlz4 from that backup and replaced the one in the problem profile.

After doing the replacement, the problematic profile symptoms have disappeared. At least for now, that is.

But now, I have to restore the missing portion of the session (tabs/history) created between the last occurrence and now, because of the replacement of the corrupted sessionstore.jsonlz4 with the backup.

Nobody has offered a way to do this that is not a time consuming ordeal.

What would you do?

Firefox freezing when trying to get text for authentication on sites. Just started after this mornings update on Firefox!!! Anybody else? Have to turn off/on laptop to get it to work again

I had to replace my old laptop. On that machine, all pages were set to come up with a black background and the page items also were in black. On my new laptop, the items on a web site come up with a white background. I would like all pages to come up with a black display. For instance, this page I am on now is white. I would prefer it to be black with white type. Can you help me?

Since Monday morning every site times out. My router says I'm connected to the Internet, but my VPN says I'm not. Other devices on the router have no problem, so it's not the cable or my ISP. For 3 days I've been tearing my hair out trying to find something in Settings, to no avail. Help??? What's happened to the + sign to add a new tab? I've customized Firefox to have tabs below the address bar (as they should be) but have just noticed that, once the window is full of tabs, the + to add another tab has disappeared. Is this because of my customization or has Firefox removed this function?

I use a program called "URL Manager Pro" on the Mac to manage my bookmarks in all my browsers. Double clicking on a bookmark icon in URL Manager can open the URL in a new tab, the same tab, or a new window depending upon how I set the preferences in URL Manager Pro. This works fine in Safari. However, in Firefox, the website opens in a new tab regardless of how I set my preferences in URL Manager.

The author of URL Manager tells me the issue is a problem with how Firefox deals with AppleEvents. It's very annoying to accumulate so many unintended new tabs and then manually close them. Is this fixable in Firefox or is there a work around?

I am working on a web crawler that scrapes set of websites analyzing certain privacy strings that are present before and after Global Privacy Signals are sent. We make use of Selenium Web Driver to perform the crawl. Part of the data we collect is the urlClassification of third party sites that are tracking users on the site, via Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection. However when performing the crawl, Enhanced Tracking Protection data is no longer available while Selenium has automatic control over Firefox, even though there is indeed third party sites (fingerprinters, cross-site tracking cookies) active on these sites when they are manually visited not using our crawler. Does anyone have an idea why our software may be interfering with Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection? Thanks!

I've been looking to recover my file history. I accidentally deleted my file history. I looked into recovery. I found out how using a youtube video. Using Sqlite recovery app on this file "places.sqlite." However, when I search and looked up a few things, it was basically the history I can already access and that only goes back from now to like december 2023. I want to go back a few years. Did I do something wrong using the sqlite app for that file?

the latest version of Firefox, I think, just all of a sudden lost connection to any server from this PC.. my Chrome and Edge work just fine.. I can't find anyway to check the connections Thanks, Bob .

2 weeks ago I downloaded a file from creativefabrica my main go to site. Now when I try to save a download from there, it goes to another place on my pc. I've tried everything but I can't get my downloads from there to go to their folder on my external harddrive. Please help this is driving me nuts.

I've used Foxfire for a long time, love it! Within last 2 months videos started to not load, or load with no sound. Restart the computer everything works properly. Then after 1 or 2 hours videos would loose sound and slow down. At first I thought might be computer but everything checked out ok. NOW when videos fail to perform in someway, I copy the URL, open Chrome, insert in address bar and videos play as advertised. In fact, I have never had a problem when using Chrome. I've had several Foxfire updates by problem remains. Thinking maybe uninstall Foxfire and re-install?

I keep getting these annoying "ads by Google" banners on the bottom of my screen. How do I make them go away permanently? Can I do this through Firefox settings or do I need to install a separate popup blocker?

Can't log into NYTImes.com with Firefox. I use Bitwarden for passwords. I also have UBlock Origin, but that should not affect logins. I clear cache and cookies upon browser close. I ended up resetting Firefox entirely, which was a royal pain, it worked for a few days and now is not working again. I have no problems logging in with Chrome but Firefox is my preferred browser.

Also having problems with the captchas on Etsy. I get endless captchas, like for five minutes. I set up 2FA in hopes it would stop with the captchas but that only worked once and now it's endless captchas again. Yet no problems on Chrome.

The NYTimes problem is recent and started early to mid-August 2024. The Etsy problem started maybe late June? Same password manager, same extensions. I hate to go to Chrome every time I need to log in. So far these are the only two websites that consistently give me problems. Does anybody have a fix?

I tried following these steps but it didnt work. Is it possible to turn this off in about config or hide it with a userchrome.css style sheet?
