Apologies for asking this here, but I've done the Google and can't find an answer.

Background: I keep 2-3 Firefox versions and profiles on my computer. The software is in, for example, directories FFox82, FFox84, FFox86 The profiles are in, for example, directories Firefox82, Firefox84, Firefox86 (The software and profiles are on different drives.)

When I do an upgrade, I copy the newest software to a new directory and rename it (e.g., FFox92 - so now there are 4 sw directories) Then I copy the newest profile directory and give it a corresponding name (e.g., Firefox92 - so now there are 4 profile directories). I install the new version to its directory and thenlaunch with a -p option. Then I create a new profile and point it to the corresponding folder. Then I launch the new version with the -p option pointing to the new profile directory.

This has worked for decades.

But I just tried it with Firefox 90 and Firefox 92 and NO GO. It acts as if I've never used Firefox before. No apps, no toolbars, no bookmarks, nothing.

What is going on? Am I stuck on Firefox86 for the rest of the century?

And, please, don't tell me how wonderful these new versions are and I should simply accept the change. I have a virtual lifetime invested in the toolbars, extensions and bookmarks on my computer.

I simply want to know if there is a fix and, if so, what it is.

I lost my Firefox profile data (amongst other files) after a hardware issue forced a repair and a factory reset. I purchased the EaseUS Data Recovery tool to try recover my Firefox data but am running into issues.

I located the two folders (one ending in ".default-release" and the other ending in ".default-release-1632317792925") from the PRE-reset file location C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.

I then close Firefox, delete all of the folders from the same location in the POST-reset location of those same files, and paste the older folders in their place.

However, when I start Firefox, it only shows me POST-reset tabs. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, I've got an issue when I ask to download and save a file from a website. The macOS finder window is well openened, but partially mixed with the current web page. it not put on the top. Most often, I must open another app, like Safari and come back to Firefox in order to put it on the top and to be able to change the file name, select de folder and at the end save the file. Attached sample.

It is the same when I ask from Firefox menu to Save As a web page.

Thank you for your feedback.

Firefox used to have a setting to open 1, 3 or all previous session tabs, now that option is gone and defaults to open all tabs. The problem didn't affect me until I made a full Win 8.1 64-bit reinstall, I overwrote the entire previous profile with about 950 tabs; I made sure that profile specific files weren't overwritten, I checked internally with Total Commander looking for the specific profile name in all files of the old profile; anyway, the new firefox with the old profile quickly killed any operational capability of my PC, not even the mouse or the keyboard lights would work, until many minutes later, then slowly I could move the mouse to the upper right corner for the [ X ] to kill firefox. While trying to uninstall Firefox uninstaller offered to "refresh" so I did, and here I am

Is there something in about:config I can modify? I really need that option back, is a royal PIA as Firefox is working now, and a very very stupid idea to remove such important option.

Plugins, add-ons have nothing to do, Can anyone let Mozilla know about this, they killed the Feedback option on the Browser.

Setting up a new Win10 machine, and trying to copy Firefox profile from old Win7 machine. First, I located the profile(s) on the old machine at:

   C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\2m1b67pe.<username>

Next, I copied (via network share) the file '2m1b67pe.<username>' to the new machine, at

  C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
  C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Next, I opened 'run' and executed 'firefox -p'.

When it opened, it only listed the default profiles, 'default' and 'default-release'.

So how do I get it to recognize the profile I copied?
