I installed two versions of Firefox: Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Firefox Developer Edition. Typically, in Window 10, you can open a browser by pressing Win+R and typing "firefox", but with two versions installed, this always opens the version I don't want.

Since the latter version is always opened, I think it's related to the installation order, but I don't want to reinstall my browser. So is there any configuration available?

When viewing extensions in the overflow menu, items become cutoff. Sometimes a scrollbar will be displayed, allowing you to view the rest. At other times, you are not able to navigate to the other information at all. I tried to use ctrl + (+ or -) to try and zoom out, but only the size was able to become bigger or smaller, not the scaling.

I was quite unhappy with the new Firefox Proton design, so I made a CSS file and copied the following code from a website. However, I don't know what to do to (1) slightly reduce the tab height, (2) get back tab borders for inactive tabs and (3) remove the small gaps between tabs. How exactly do I have to change the following code to do so (ideally, for convenience, please just complete the code accordingly)? Thanks in advance for any support!

/*** Tighten up drop-down/context/popup menu spacing (8 Sep 2021) ***/

 min-height: unset !important; /* v92.0 - for padding below 4px */

}

 --arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 4px 8px !important;

}

/*** Proton Tabs Tweaks ***/

/* Adjust tab corner shape, optionally remove space below tabs */

.tab-background {

I started using a MacBook Pro which has a bright touch bar where the function keys would usually be on a keyboard, but I like to customize it by removing most of the icons because it don't really use them. For Safari I went to View > Customize Touch Bar, but for Firefox I cannot seem to find that option in the menu bar. Is there any way to customize the touch bar for Firefox as well? Thank you.

I have been using Firefox for years, and until today everything was working okay. Now, all of a sudden, whenever I try to open a PDF using my school library's website, I am being asked to either open a PDF in Firefox, Adobe, or save the file. Because my library allows me to view PDF copies of books and access the table of contents, this does not work for me. Again, all was fine yesterday, but today it has suddenly become an issue.

I've just added UK English and restarted Firefox. Now, why can I not remove US English, even though that one shouldn't be in use, and I still can remove UK English, even though that one *is* in use (or should be)?

Greying out a button is only recommended when it's crystal clear why that is. In this case, I have no clue why I couldn't remove US English, and so gryeing out that button makes no sense to me. It should be enabled, and display a message explaining why a language can't be removed if it can't be.

For the moment, can someone please explain why US English can't be removed then?

A few months ago Firefox decided to double space all the items in menus. Reading through the forums many people didn't like this because of the amount of space that the menus now take up. Fortunately there was a work around, by setting 'browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled to false they returned to normal

This morning Firefox my got upgraded and the double spacing problem is back again. However there appears to be a bug with the setting and the menus won't return to normal. I'm now stuck with stupidly large menus that won't fit on the screen and lots of painful scrolling.

Does anybody have an alternative workaround until this is fixed?

I have my instances running set to 2. BECAUSE I WANT TO. Please don't try to explain why such and such is better. I am good.

Yet no matter what I tell Firefox, I may have up to 10 instance running with only one window open. Yes, I have the current process limit set to 2. I have the recommended block empty. I have tried it with "use hardware acceleration when available" checked and unchecked. it doesn't matter, Firefox still runs numerous instances..

How do I control this? it is eating up 30% of my memory at times.

I'm on MacOS. Firefox v92.0. I use Firefox only with three sites I use regularly. I want to maximise screen real estate by getting rid of the address bar. Getting rid of tabs too would be great, because I can use option-cmd-arrow to tab through them. And I can close the window from the menu. I tried to follow this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288181 I did everything in that post, but the custom userChrome.css is having no effect. It's mentioned there that you have to use "window.open(...)" but I don't know what that means. The full screen function on MacOS is no good. It messes with my ability to swiftly switch between apps. So I cannot use it.

This is what I have in my userChrome.css file:

  1. main-window[chromehidden*="toolbar"] #nav-bar {
 visibility: collapse;

}

/*** Tighten up drop-down/context/popup menu spacing (8 Sep 2021) ***/

 padding-block: 4px !important; /* reduce to 3px, 2px, 1px or 0px as needed */
 min-height: unset !important; /* v92.0 - for padding below 4px */

}

root {
 --arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 4px 8px !important;

}

Hello,

I would like Firefox to either remove private browsing altogether or password protect some of the addons that I would not like to be turned off in private mode. Currently there's this addon 'Block Site' and this keeps my browser very regulated for me or anyone who uses my computer. However the whole purpose of it vanishes when you have the setting 'Run in private mode' set to 'off'. So anyone can simply set this to off and you have the whole browser without the addon functioning.

Can I put a password to this setting? Or maybe lock it so nobody can modify it?
