I just recently started using mac being a windows user. While I understand this is not really a game breaker, why is Firefox the only program that ignores my preference changes? Going to settings>keyboard>modifier keys> and then swapping ctrl with the command key fixes my desire to have ctrl+ commands work with every single program, except Firefox still uses the command key as its shortcut initiator no matter what I do. I have seen a few posts from at least 3 years ago and as recent as 2020, does Mozilla ever plan to implement a shortcut menu for its users or are we stuck with using 3rd parties to fix this for us? I still use both PC and Mac.

This is driving me crazy. I've been using Chrome for 4 years and I switch to Firefox because it is more faster and smooth than Chrome, my issue is that I'm a writer so, on the website that I work on we got this shortcuts to put bold, cursive, etc, and they begin with Alt + something, every time that I'm trying to use them I got the bookmark on the menu bar open and doesn't let me use the shortcut on the website.

There is any way to delete completely the menu bar? I already got the ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses on false, but the shortcuts as Alt + B still open the bookmarks or Alt + H opens the history on the menu. I really need a fix for this guys.

I have been using the firefox web-browser, and often use the control-f (^F) key to search for a phrase on a given tab.

This works well, but when I type something that isn't on the page (or more likely, mis-type) it makes an annoying "digning" noise and turns red.

Is there any way to silence this behavior? Turning red is good enough for me, the digning is irritating. I'm using the Ubuntu version.

Thanks

Every solution which I have found for Firefox 89 "Proton" so far which moves the Tabs Bar below the Navigation Bar (AKA "address bar"), with the Menu Bar above it, does NOT move the Tabs Bar below the Bookmarks Bar. The Bookmarks Bar appears to be overwritten and blank, and occupies space below the Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, and Tabs Bar. This empty space separates the three bars which are implemented and the content of the currently-selected tab below it.

Currently, my userChrome.css file is a copy posted by Corel-10 (?): __________________________________________________________________________________________________

Evidently, the text editor for this website does several things to the above original text that, frankly, seem unnecessary and undesirable. The .CSS file is just an unformatted text file, so what is the problem with simply copying its contents and pasting it in to the body of this post?

Which is also to say that I do NOT have a clue as to what any line in the file is meant to do, what effect it has, why it is even in the file at all, or why it is written in the way that it is. So DO NOT tell me that I "CAN" create a Cascading Style Sheet on my own when I cannot even modify one that has been provided.

On the face of it, something is missing from the above CSS text. What change needs to be made to the above content so that the Bookmark Bar will appear between the Navigation Bar and the Tabs Bar??

Thank-you very much for your time and attention to this request for assistance.

Cursor jumps to toolbar address window instead of staying on the Firefox home page search bar. I prefer to use the search bar, without seeing all the urls show up in a list that changes as I type. This change occurred just a few days ago, apparently when Firefox updated. I have selected Google as the preferred search engine. Hi!

  2. But it sucks even more that the feature to subscribe to feeds via external services was also removed.
  3. I also can't view feeds, even if I find one manually.

New, I saw solutions to the first one, but there of little to no use on their own. Downloading text files with feed items in xml format is pretty useless. I want to be able to view a feed and subscribe to it.
