I use the middle button only for toggling auto-scrolling on and off, or at least that's what I want to do.

That works, unless I mistakenly (often) click the button while over a hyperlinked image or link. In that case, the link opens in a new tab which disrupts my workflow.

How can I set up the mouse in FireFox so that clicking the middle button will ONLY toggle scrolling on and off and never open a link that may happen to be under the cursor?

I've been looking for a solution for this online for ages, and hope there is a setting for this. It's a frustration many times daily.

Please add a Custom wallpaper options, Your browser has been the best so far i have used many browsers but i would love to have a custom wallpaper option and live wallpaper option too if possible just like operaGX has. Anyone can upload a wallpaper there.

I am uncomfortable with the push for unnecessary ai content and features on firefox and if they are added without easy ways to remove or disable I will be switching to a different browser

Thanks to the help received here and in the Reddit group I've been able to transfer almost all of my old colour and layout tweaks to a new intallation of Firefox (v133) on a new PC (running Windows 10). There's one thing that I haven't succeeded with though: I'd like to change the colour of the text in a tab when that tab becomes the active one.

This is the coding I'm using to change the tab's background colour when it's selected:

1. TabsToolbar .tab-background[selected]{

background: white !important; }

This works perfectly. But when I tried adding the line

color: black !important;

It had no effect. I'd be grateful for any thoughts. Many thanks.

Is there a way to turn off the “shake for AI summary” function on IOS? It doesn’t add anything to my experience, and more often than not, I end up accidentally shaking my phone and getting a summary I didn’t ask for.

If there’s a way to completely turn off the AI features, i’d like that too I’d prefer if my browser didn’t summarize the websites I visit in a way that can be inaccurate or lie to me.

Mozilla, please just remove these features entirely. If we want AI, we can go to ChatGPT or another website, I just don’t want it added into everything I use all of a sudden.

I was dismayed to discover that the latest versions of Firefox (e.g. 141 on Linux) unify the search and address bars again. There does not seem to be any easy and obvious way to change this.

On my 128 esr Linux Firefox I have an address bar that does not accept search terms and a separate search bar.

How can I get this behaviour in 141?

I have just bought a new computer running the latest version of Win 11pro and the latest version of Firefox is installed. When I click on a mailto link it will not open, I have looked on the internet and as usual the instructions to do this and the you will see this, bear no resemblance to the reality of what I see on the screen and statements such as alter this but it does not say how. This is extremely annoying to this 80 year old non computer literate person especially when the mailto link works on my old computer running Win7 pro with the same email and internet programs installed. I have Edge, Opera and Firefox as internet browsers and use Thunderbird as my email program. Can anybody explain ALL the steps to be taken in plain English to cure this problem please?

the only reason ive been using firefox is because its one of the few browsers that doesnt use AI. now this? anthony enzor-demeo what in the hell is wrong with you? no one wants this, stop pushing AI in a browser we all use SPECIFICALLY to avoid other browsers' (like chrome) sell out. i dont care if there's opt out I don't want this to be an option in the first place, and I know a lot of others feel the same.

i am not the kind of person who has brand loyalty, and if you continue with this I'll find something else to use.

I am happy Firefox released a way to change system shortcuts in the most recent version. But a shortcut I've wanted to change for awhile was not present.

Cmd+K (Jump to OmniBar)

Is there anyway to change this shortcut? If so, how?

Under Customize Toolbar, I want to move the toolbar item "Extensions" off the top menu bar, and into the Overflow Menu, or another area, to make the address bar bigger. When I attempt to move it, there is a ban symbol across it and it will not move. Firefox 127.0.

Hello! I just moved to Firefox a week ago and so far, I'm really happy I did. Nearly everything is better. That being said, there's one feature I used all the time on Chrome that I can't get working right here, and that's auto scroll. On Chrome, it worked no problem. When I clicked in the scroll wheel, it turned on auto scroll and would stay enabled until I clicked it again. One Firefox though, this isn't working right. When I click in the wheel here, it enables for a quick second before disabling itself. It's super annoying and makes it unusable. I found out it's because scrolling on the scroll wheel cancels auto scroll on Firefox, but not on chrome. So how do I make it so scrolling on the scroll wheel doesn't break auto scroll? I just wrote and it w as scrubbed, that I have FIRED Chrome Fired Edge, and fired every web p;latform that replaced a 90% functional text matching system with a 2% functional AI system with the cognitive abilities of a slower than average goldfish. So I need the ability to turn off every new feature you offer or I will and I AM POSITIVE MANY AMERICANS AND MUCH OF HUMANITY WILL CANCEL THE TECHNOLOGY COMPLETELY. We don't need it it falls into Entertainment and it is not the only choice. There are still books campfires fishing making models collecting minerals sports humanitarian ojectives honesty and Truth available in real life. Stop shoving us backwards why are you shoving a pathetically incapable technology in our faces? is it so you can offer a convenient implant that will SOLVE EVERYTHING????
