why did the newest firefox update change my bookmarks to black text over slightly less black background? and where is this 'easy to find' setting found in the quagmire that is settings?

My firefox on my Mac will not open in full screen mode. It use to open in Full screen, but now no matter what I do when I close it out then try to reopen it, it opens in half screen mode. I set it to full screen mode in the setting but no luck. I tried deleting it and re-downloading it. I tried every tip online but nothing works.

I am using Firefox v140.0.1 Snap on Kubuntu 25.04, Kernel 6.14. Since the Firefox update in the past couple days, the mouse cursor has started appearing huge and slightly blurry (as though the image is scaled up) in Firefox and nowhere else. The size is visually annoying, and occasionally difficult to know exactly where I'm clicking (trying to move the caret in a text box for example). It also appears to be a different style from the main desktop cursor, the shape and color are ever so slightly different, but this may already have been the case and I simply didn't notice because of the previously small size. Firefox doesn't have its own built in cursor settings that I can find, nor obey the system cursor settings. I have a high DPI display so perhaps it is being over-compensated for? e.g. both the system and Firefox are scaling the cursor up, assuming the other hasn't done it already, resulting in a cursor that's too big.

After the update on the 14th, dark mode has gained weird stylistic choices that I cannot find a way to alter: namely, when closing a new tab, a white box with black font appears -as opposed to the previous darker toned grey/purple with white font. However as of writing this post, I notice that dark mode is not working on this webpage. Seeing as I have an extension enabled in addition to the basic dark mode selection in Firefox settings, I can only imagine that something was broken in the update. Please advise, the change is jarring.

Since the last update, the firefox taskbar icon is showing a strange shopping card icon? How can I remove it? I am not shopping with Firefox, I am using it as my web browser.

hi in a new win 10 instal most text incl Fire Fox and t bird text is made up of letters [font] that are made of thin and thick lines [in the same letter]

i dont know if its a strange font or another problem, i have copied all "font" setting from my other pc where i dont have the problem.

also i cant get spell check to work here dsespite turning it on

its very distracting, would be very gratefull for any suggestones can if any one can help  thanks

Hello, when many tabs are open, the mute button takes up almost the entire tab. When I go to a tab, I get to the mute button... https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2025-03-01-03-07-42-491a45.png Is it possible to remove this function on the tab, but leave the sound icon itself? So that when I click on the sound icon, the tab is switched to instead of mute?

Google told me to go to About.Config, find "browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon" then change the value to false. But, at least in my version of FF, that doesn't work because browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon isn't listed. I'm running 142.0.01.

I know FF is trying to please all the wonderful teenagers who want to constantly screw around with software settings. But it would be really nice if such new "features" were not turned on automatically.

Web pages that are supposed to contain emojis are blank. I can highlight where emojis are supposed to be shown but the actual images of the emojis aren't there. about:config font.name-list.emoji correctly contains "Apple Color Emoji" If it is relevant, this has been a bug/issue that has persisted for a couple of months now (can't name an exact date).

I want to hide the "Search with Google" option from the right-hand menu in Firefox. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if there's a way to do this. I previously came across an article on how to hide Firefox using userchrome.css, but I can't find it anywhere. I don't use "Search with Google," so I want to hide it. Have never liked the bright orange Firefox icon, it's too dominating on my desktop, I LOVE the older brownish firefox icon, it's just right. So every time you come out with a Firefox update I get out "Resource Hacker" and change the icon to the older one, pictured below. I mentioned this before, asking if you could just give that option, and didn't receive a response. You come out with so many updates, it's a hassle changing the icon every time, but I'm willing to pay the price to escape the distracting bright orange icon, but now suddenly Firefox won't let me alter the icon in the exe. Was wondering if you'd have any suggestions. Have used Firefox exclusively for decades. Thank you very much.

I would like to swap the order of the first 2 items on the Bookmarks Context Menu - that is "Open in New Tab" should be second, and "Open in New Window" should be first.

I'm able to do this on the "regular" context menu with the following code...

But I cannot find the correct selector for the Bookmarks Context menu (see attached image).

I have tried code (to no avail) such as the following...

Reference: Firefox Desktop 139.0.1. See the attached image. What does the overlaid blue (cable with plug?) icon mean on top of my Grid Overlay bookmarklet? The overlay appeared after the update to v139.0.1 (desktop) on Arch Linux. And only on top of my bookmarklet. In case it's relevant. The bookmarklet consists of JS that injects some HTML in the rendered webpage and then beckons my grid overlay. Self developed to overlay my own web layouts.

i just want to be able to add drag space to the top of my browser so i can move the window easily while it's maximized. i have been unable to find the customization section of firefox options and there is also no place on this website to speak to an actual member of support staff. this should be simple

The bug exists since Firefox version 131.0 circa, when some things related to DPI had been changed, which I was able to guess because, without touching anything, the size/zoom of the content of the websites were slightly different (bigger). Experiencing this in both Windows and Xfce.

Steps to reproduce:

• Have a custom DPI settings in your operating system.
• Open a new Firefox window.
• Note how the Firefox window height is shorter, so yo can see about 20 pixels of your desktop background. Manually resizing the window and restarting the browser has no effect: the correct height is not remembered.

Am I the only person in the world using Firefox with a custom DPI setting in the OS? I find this hard to believe. Yet I'm experiencing this bug since one years ago. I can't stand using a different browser, but having to resize the window every time is so annoying...
