My situation is: I got a new/used PC with fresh install Win11 and SSD's. On old PC, win7, I used Firefox and saved my bookmarks as "restore" I guess (not HTML) to my D drive. Firefox was installed on old C HDD drive.

I have added old HDD to new PC case and want to copy/move/import my Firefox bookmarks to use in new Edge browser. I found my old saved bookmarks (on D drive HDD) as a JSON file. Edge can import only HTML bookmark files. What do I do?

I've spent 5-6 hours searching web but cannot find any solution.

Hello there; I had installed the "savefrom.net" extension. This extension automatically generated the website address to the "bookmarks toolbar". I deleted the extension and deleted the shortcut as well. But when the bookmarked website shortcut "firefox" is closed and reopened, it adds itself to the bookmarks toolbar again. No matter what I did, it didn't work. I don't want to delete Firefox completely and reinstall it. Because there are too many shortcuts and data that I use all the time. How do you think I can solve this problem?

tried to import logins etc from waterfox, but pull down list does NOT include waterfox, many others tho, so how can this be done without having to jump thru too many hoops

My computer 'guru' reinstalled Win10 in order to correct a serious problem. ALL of my programs were gone and I was left with a raw Win10. 6/12/2023 was last date prior to the disaster. I reinstalled Firefox. Using the "firefox.exe -p" I can only find the default profile. I DO HAVE a full backup done using the Win7 Backup and Restore feature. How do I resurrect my most recent profile? I will need to find the files(s) manually from the b/u. When I did a Full Restore the bookmarks didn't appear. Where and what files am I looking for? From 8 years of using Firefox and updates, there is a perpetual, never-ending serious bug, occurs on all computers! If one has a lot of open tabs with a lot of RAM, the tabs are also automatically frozen then it is impossible to add bookmarks to all 4760 tabs. So never ever make a bookmark! It takes forever to work, nothing happens, even no extension can, nothing will help. This is some kind of stuck bug. Chrome, it ALWAYS, ALWAYS WORKS WITHOUT PROBLEM! I can add in 1 second in Chrome, but never, ever in Firefox for 8 years!

So I just rebuilt my PC with all new Parts. Basically the only parts I kept were the PSU, and the Case. I installed Windows fresh on a brand new m.2 SSD, everything up and running and installed Firefox.

I have the OLD m.2 SSD set up as a flash drive, that I can plug into a USB port on my new motherboard, which has allowed me to transfer over things like My Docs and My Pics, etc.

Now I need to know what files I need to copy, from where, and to where; to restore my Firefox profile with all my bookmarks, etc.

Can anyone help me with this?

What is going on with the Bookmarks function continuously duplicating? I've used the add-in tool (Love It!), but my bookmarks keep duplicating! What is going on & are you going to fix it? I use Mozilla Firefox exclusively as I don't like or trust Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Would REALY like to get this problem corrected!

I have a problem retrieving my favorites/bookmarks. I changed computers (all of them, even the hard drives).

I would like to recover my favorites/bookmarks but cannot do so because I am asked to look for them in folders that I no longer have, because they are on the old computer.

Does Firefox not save any information about my favorites/bookmarks? Have I lost them all? Do I have to redo my whole life?

I added an Add-On to try it called [by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox] Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox which I have since removed as the Add-On has corrupted my Bookmarks. When I click 'Show Sidebars' my Bookmarks don't show (thought they are there) but it's as though the font is white making it impossible to see them.

If I click Bookmarks I can see them and/or when I click on Manage Bookmarks that option opens and I can see all my Bookmarks. This only happened after I added "Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox" Add-On. I was thinking there could be possibility it could have been caused by changing the appearance to Dark Mode, (for example Facebook or Twitter, etc).

There must be a better fix then to refresh / restore Firefox to its default settings as I have about 90 Tabs Open

After updating to firefox 107.0.1 the bookmarks in the bookmark folders are separated too far . How do I decrease the distance? It now looks like they are in double space mode. Windows 10 is my operating system.

So, the old problem of double spacing is back. Luckily only on bookmarks menu and sidebar, but even so it's annoying.

Has there been any progress with finding a solution for this perennial nuisance?

Also, the userchrome.css fixes I've used previously don't seem to be working. What's the latest fix to be used?

Is it possible to combine history/bookmark files? Firefox has truncated my "History" to 15 days and the only option I see to get elder entries is to combine a backupped history file with the current one. An easy-to-use tool for this task would be welcome. I did not change my config options after the update to 121.0.1 (64-Bit) (Windows 10pro) but I think I had the total history (from years) before the update. Unfortunately, I have recently lost the full content of my Firefox profile that is usually recorded in the Application Support folder on a Mac

I had a lot of pages and tabs opened at that time and I would really like to recover all of these data if possible.

Since I cannot access to my sessionstore/recovery/bookmarks/prefs files (etc.) anymore, I would like to know if Firefox would be able to recover theses files in its database provided I had a connected Firefox account to it when it happened? If so, could you please explain me where I could find these data on my account?

Besides, could you think of another way to get to the same result knowing that I don't have a recent clone/time machine backup unfortunately?

When I add a new bookmarks I can see them in "Recent labels", but not in "Other bookmarks" (the last one in that folder is of the 20th of February 2022), so I can see only my last 10 saved bookmarks from the 02/20/2022 since now. The bookmarks are surely saved, because if I try to delete one fromt the "Recent labels" another one less recent appears, but only in the "Recent labels" folder and not in the "Other bookmarks". So, what I have to do to see my saved bookmarks not present in the "Other bookmarks" folder, but not so recent to be visible in the "Recent labels"? Thank you!

I would like to transfer my bookmarks (and my open tabs) from my Windows 10 laptop to a new Windows 11 laptop. I've looked at the questions and answers people have posted but its a complete mystery to me. I had thought that when I loaded Firefox onto the new PC and signed in, everything would automatically appear. I was successful in doing that with Chrome but Firefox is still my primary browser and I've had no luck. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My workflow in Firefox involves 100's of open tabs pertaining to work, personal etc. I regularly bookmark all the abs using the 'bookmark all tabs' feature in the Bookmarks drowdown (or the equivalent 'select all tabs' -> 'bookmark all tabs' by rightclicking on a tab) which offers the option of saving the tabs in a new folder name I specify. As of the last couple of weeks, the option to enter a folder name no longer exists. I've attached a screenshot of the current pop-up when I choose 'bookmark all tabs'.

Perhaps related: this may have started occuring after I upgraded to the latest version (v. 101.0 on MacOs 12.4 on Macbook Pro) or the timing may be a coincidence.

Saving the 100s of bookmarks every week is an essential part of workflow; I've been doiong it for years, and I really need to have this ability back. Please help me debug this.

I'm having an issue when saving bookmarks, I'll find a nice recipe, save it to my recipe folder, little blue star will show on the page showing its bookmarked but when I go to the folder, it's nowhere to be seen. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, it use to work just fine before.

The present configuration of Bookmarks:

Both "areas" of Bookmarks are linked, deleting from one will update the other. Neither are isolated personal storage areas for selected bookmarks of the user's choosing. You can't keep/delete one bookmark in one area (Bookmarks toolbar and/or hamburger icon > Bookmarks) without the action being correspondingly reflected in the other area.

Now previously I could go to the hamburger Bookmarks, create and delete without my tool bar Bookmarks being effected. Any chance of this happening again please?
