Firefox is up to date, Windows 11.

I frequently watch BBC videos but approx one week ago, they stopped playing. I have your VPN which is usually off as it give me no advantage, (this appeared following the last update), but I've tried switching on and changing to UK location. No change.

Can you give me some suggestions please?

Is this a known issue with HEVC Media Source Extensions support on Windows 11 build 26200, or is there another requirement for Firefox to expose HEVC playback capability through MediaSource and MediaCapabilities when the Windows HEVC codec is installed and functioning in Chromium-based browsers?

I am looking to be able to INDEPENDENTLY close Firefox (Standard) windows separate from those running in a Private session.

ATM, it does not seem possible to close just one type of Firefox session without the other.

I see this possibly as a simple about:config switch which would allow one to close ALL Standard or Private windows with the respective system tray icon's "Close (All) Windows" OR the Menu's Exit selection. No other behaviors need change.

USE CASE: I frequently use both types of windows and will sometimes close Firefox Standard and unintentionally loose tabs I have not saved in Private.

Just recently I changed my privacy settings to take advantage of the privacy opt-out option for websites not to share my data or information. I went to my AMX credit card account and now every time I move to a new page the message, "Your Global Privacy Control opt-out signal has been honored" pops up and gets in the way of the information on the page. I am constantly having to click on the X in the corner to close the message box. Once would be enough for each main website. Having it pop up every time is absolutely annoying. I like having this option but if it's going to make me have to close the informational box every time I move to a new page or back to a former page, then I will have to undo the choice. The web designer who put this message text into the Firefox browser needs to find a way to only have it pop up once if they feel it is really necessary to tell me that they are blocking information from other companies. I really don't even need the first message just as long as it works behind the scenes. I hope someone gets web support to look into this issue. It's just so annoying.

I have a new mac air and I had to set up a new Firefox/Mozzila account. Since then, I keep getting a Google sign in request. I have a Google email for websites that I don't really use, so am effectively a Google customer, but I prefer to not have this pop up every time I go to a website that has a sign in. My little brother signed me out of my mozilla account while trying to login to his school account using my computer yesterday. Now, even after signing his account out AND removing his account entirely from my firefox, I'm unable to login using my credentials on the "original profile" which is what I've always used. This is the message I get when trying to login:

This profile was previously synced to a different account To keep your data organized and secure, each Firefox profile can only be synced to one account. To sign in using (email)@gmail.com, create a new profile.

He wasn't even able to fully login with his account, and even after completely removing his account from my firefox (as far as I know) I'm not able to sign into the original profile at *all*, even though that's what I've always used. Does anyone have a solution for this?

When I try to make a Google search I get the following message, "I'm not a robot" with a reCAPTCHA: "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?". This happens on Firefox, but not Chrome or Edge. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro House Call and Microsoft Defender, nothing detected. Running Win 10 (64) with 'Extended Security Updates', Firefox 152.0.3 (64), no additional Extensions or Plugins, no VPN and have run through the troubleshooting suggestions. The error appears invariant of my IP address (different IPv4 addresses after rebooting my router, or an IPv6 address via a proxy). I have Firefox 60.7.2esr and 78.5.0esr on an older machine. Those sometimes work to some of these sites, but don't support all the site functionality, e.g. I can't actually login to Costco. www.tesla.com/modely works in 78.5.0esr. The Firefox on my Android tablet works for tesla; I haven't checked all the other sites. In conversation with my ISP (Starlink) customer service AI, I have tried deleting cookies and disabling plugins (only H264 and Widevine) with no effect. It suggests there is a problem with Akamai fingerprinting the browser.

Firefox does not delete history by using any of the recommended procedures. Clear recent does not work either. The only way I can delete history in by going to manage history and manually deleting.

Firefox (152.0.4, 64-Bit) security settings – whether intended or not – are blocking work on the Internet. For example, loading Amazon takes forever until it’s unreachable, and further browsing (scrolling often not possible). The same with Edge works without any problems. What do I need to do to work quickly without constant blocks? Is there a zero setting? With simple security settings? The issue seems related to https to http as well. Also, opening a private new window once works, but a second window is blocked.

Attached is the new UI which takes up too much screen space if you have a lot of Search Engines installed in the Search Engine Field. I'd like to revert to the old code. If the old code is no longer in Firefox, what version do I have to downgrade to in order to get that old user interface back?

I just turned on Firefox's free VPN, but I didn't see a way to choose a particular server. I'd like to watch some videos from other countries, but those providers won't let me watch them unless they think I'm in their country. I can do this with other VPNs because I can choose a server that is in that country. Why can't I do that in Firefox? Or can I?

After today (Sep. 2, 2026)'s update, I noticed that the the plus "+" button for new tab is canceled. Instead, I have to now click right on the work function and click "New Tab" for a new tab. This revision is quite counter-intuitive. Could you please add back the plus "+" button for new tab in the next update?
