I have been getting a message that says firefox has something running and cannot shut down. I went into task manager and 'shut down' firefox, but the message keeps on coming. I then thought that I would uninstall it and then reinstall, but it tells me that it cannot uninstall because it is running, -"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." When I click on ' Close Firefox' nothing happens. when I click on 'Cancel' the message disappears, but will reappear. Then in desperation, I went into program files and deleted the Fifefox folders but it wouldn't reinstall. There is obviously somewhere a file/file which is screwing me up, does anyone know what this it?

I don’t understand what Firefox is doing. For example, I used to start typing the first few letters of “weather.com”, which I visit pretty much daily, and it would auto fill “weather.com”. Now it auto fills every time with http://www.weatherbase.com/. I don’t know where that came from. Similarly, I used to type the first few letters of “duckduckgo.com” and it would bring up “duckduckgo.com”. Now it brings up a magnifying glass below the url with “Search with duckduckgo”. I am thinking it might be best if I can start over, i.e. clear out any information it’s saved about where it thinks I want to go, and start remembering the sites I am entering now.

i had some problems with windows services and firewall and network. i installed the tool from tweaking.com( i don't know if it is legit or scam or virus or anything. would appreciate clarification.) after i repaired windows with it some of my apps including firefox did not start and were corrupted. after that i wanted to reinstall firefox and used the helper.exe from the uninstall folder in mozilla firefox folder in drive C. it restarted firefox and all my tabs were gone. i accessed the jason files (recovery,restore,...) and none of them had my tabs. i signed in to my account and all my history and bookmarks are still here but about 100 tabs were lost. i really need those tabs and i am in desperate need for help. thanks ( in no parts of system repair or other actions i have not created a back up and do not have that back up or system restore files)

Hello; I installed a new web page. While the page opens properly in browsers such as Safari and Chrome, in Firefox it constantly displays 403 forbidden Access to this resource on the server is denied! gives an error. I deleted the caches. I did flush DNS. I even reset firefox. I tried everything but the page still gives an error. There is only a dry WordPress content. How can I get rid of this error? Thanks.

I cannot figure out how to export my bookmarks from Mozilla Account. On the desktop browser when I open "Manage Bookmarks" and select Phil's Bookmarks, I am able to export the bookmarks from the Mozilla account.

The resulting html export file does not contain the bookmarks from Mozilla Account. There also does not seem to be a way to export those bookmarks from your online Mozilla Account interface.

How do I export the bookmarks from my Mozilla Account?

Hi Friends.... This morning logged into my website as usual and this message appeared on the home page. I have not checked the link as it seems potentially malicious ... It does not appear when visiting my site on Safari. I have emptied the cache I have been through troupbleshooting mode I have reinstalled Firefox and it still is there..

How to rid myself of this

Macbook pro 2017 OS 12.7 Firefox 125.03

I was able to open reddit.com without any problems earlier, but recentrly I'm not able to load it up anymore. The loading screen is eternal and it doesnt show any kind of error (unless it tries to connect for too long like a couple of minutes, then the error does shows up). The site still sends me notificarions through the browser though. Any other site loads up without a problem. I tried to use methods mentioned in the help article (turned off proxy, turned on network.dns.disableIPv6, deleted cookies and cache). In other browsers (Edge, for example) reddit.com loads just fine. Please help me if you can.

My Firefox settings are configured to "Open previous windows and tabs" on Startup. This worked fine until this morning, when I lost all of the tabs in my session, including the pinned ones. The last time I closed Firefox, there was only one window open.

I have already tried these ideas to restore the tabs:

• CTRL+SHIFT+T: Does nothing
• CTRL+SHIFT+N: Does nothing
• Three bar menu -> History -> Recently closed tabs: The list is empty
• Three bar menu -> History -> Recently closed windows: The option is greyed out
• Three bar menu -> History -> Restore previous session: The option does not exist in the menu
• Open user profile folder and open sessionstore-backups folder: There are three files named "previous.jsonlz4", "recovery.baklz4" and "recovery.baklz4". They are each 2KB and contain only an empty tab with the URL "about:home". There are three additional files starting with "upgrade" but they are from too long ago, so they don't contain the tabs I require.

The contents of these tabs are vitally important for my work, so this is causing me significant stress. If anyone can suggest ways to recover my previous tab beyond the documented fixes, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much to anyone who can help!

It appeared a few weeks ago. Now, when I load google map webpage, the map loads normally with all the street, country, road names, then 1 second later, all those texts disappear. I've disabled all Plugins, delete cache, load a brand new profile, without effects. Note that if I use a user agent switcher plugin and choose any Mobile versions (but not a desktop version), the names load (and stay) normally.

Hello, By default, DoH fails on Max Protection in the latest OS versions listed above. The workaround I've discovered is using https://1.1.1.1/dns-query, but I would rather use the default settings.

I haven't been able to login with MFA on my uni website and also make purchases using credit cards on commercial sites.

I have tried Troubleshooting mode and the problem persists. Switching to Opera browser showed normal functionality.

Firefox 125.0.3 (64-bit) on macOS 14.4

I have Mac, Windows, and Linux boxes. All show connected to Firefox Sync, however, bookmarks etc are only actually in sync between Windows and Linux. I've tried logging out on all devices, resetting passwords, reinstalling FF on the Mac. Can't seem to get it to work.

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? I'm running Firefox which I compiled with vaapi support because I was trying to use hardware acceleration for videos, so I think this bug may have something to do with that. Every time I open a pdf file my browser instantly crashes. When I use troubleshoot mode I have no such issue. I then tried with a fresh all-default user profile with no add-ons, nothing, and still I crash when loading a PDF. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Sometimes I find that Firefox just randomly closes on my laptop, usually when I step away for about 10-20 minutes. I can't find any info in the about:crashes page when it happens.
