I have been a dedicated Firefox user for over 20 years and encouraged many others to use it for its security, customisation, privacy and accessibility - not to mention the comparative absence of AI rot. I needn’t repeat what so many others have already outlined as being immensely concerning. No question being asked, and therefore nothing to answer; this is really just to note that as a long term, genuinely loyal user, if Firefox degenerates into yet another AI-bloated nightmare (which already feels inescapable in every part of the internet!) I will be deleting my account, and deleting Firefox from all my devices. I’m so tired of this, I’m so tired of AI. Begging the new supreme leader not to obliterate the goodwill Firefox has accumulated.

Whoever they are needs to be taught a lesson in user retention. Allow me to help. Now, in the wide world of the web, there are a lot of browsers to choose from, and while firefox is a big enough fish to get mentioned regularly, it's still rather small in the grand scheme of things. The thing about that, is I would wager the majority of firefox's users are the sorts of people to look at chrome and all the dubious and sketchy things google is doing (including AI integration) and choose better for themselves. Now, what happens if mozilla decides, "hey, we're not enough like google" and start implementing the questionable policies that are in place with chrome (such as AI implementation)? If you said "those people will look at the same stuff that pushed them away from our biggest competitor and leave us too" then congratulations! You're correct, and also smarter than the average ceo. Anyway, someone please get the ceo to reconsider his decisions or I'm going to have to reconsider my own to use firefox.

Apparently, the new CEO has decided to integrate more AI. I do not like this. The main reason I use FireFox and Mozilla is that it doesn’t add AI bloatware and has better privacy and security. The fact that this company is considering adding even more AI is enough to make me stop using them entirely. When they originally added AI overview, summary, and a chatbot I nearly switched to something else. I know there are not many browsers that aren’t owned by Google or a parent company left, but by god I will find one.

If you integrate AI, I will not be using your browser. It’s bad enough that other companies are doing this already, don’t be a jackass and start doing it too.

Firefox has made its niche in the browser lands by being a usable user-friendly non-Chromium Privacy-First Browser. adding AI to it does nothing to improve or advance this image users have of it, and rather risks actively dicouraging new users from migrating to it, and further could result in a large group of your existing userbase leaving to find a less; unfortunately the word used for this process is enshittification; shittified browser. LLMs and other Generative AI features are tools that a vanishingly small segment of your userbase want in their browser, and certainly an addition that will drive many users away from it if it continues to be added to a large-enough extent to declare firefox as an "AI Browser". Why not just offer a different browser entirely under the mozzila umbrella that is an AI-Forward Browser, and leave Firefox to us crotchety old men yelling at clouds that would rather not interact with the flagrant waste of resources that is generative AI.
