I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

Is there a way I can have Firefox permanently offer the option to generate a secure password? Many, many, MANY times Firefox will not recognize that a particular input field is for a password, and therefore does not offer the option to generate one. Considering everything on this forsaken planet requires creating an account now, this minor issue has become very common and annoying for me.

To reiterate: I would like Firefox to always offer to generate a password, regardless of how the input field is labeled or marked up. Thanks!

edit: I don't know how to delete this. turns out this is a known bug on firefox on linux. Firefox cannot actually save payment info, but doesn't serve an error to the user. however in the console it will throw a NS_ERROR_ABORT error: "User canceled OS unlock entry" error when it tries to save. the one solution i looked at seemed way too complicated for me so i am simply going to give up and try to keep my cc closer to me and not get frustrated when it doesn't work.

Firefox has recently started turning itself off. There is a failure message and it self-reports the issue. However it will do this without any website loaded, it just fails to continue running without a website being loaded. This happens everyday. The application will not continue to run just by being an open application with an empty about:newtab This is very frustrating.

Depuis le 4 août à 14h30, Google Meet ne parvient plus à accéder à la caméra de mon ordinateur portable lorsque j’utilise Firefox ou Chrome. Un message me demande d’autoriser l’accès à la caméra dans Windows, mais les autorisations sont bien activées.

Il est important de préciser que Google Meet fonctionne parfaitement avec Microsoft Edge, avec la même caméra et sur le même ordinateur et que Teams fonctionne avec Firefox.

Par ailleurs, jusqu’au 4 août à 9h30, Google Meet fonctionnait normalement avec Firefox et avait bien accès à ma caméra.

Il semble donc qu’une mise à jour effectuée entre ces deux horaires, soit de Google Meet, soit de Windows 11 (version 25H2), ait pu modifier ou bloquer l’accès à la caméra pour Firefox et Chrome.

Actuellement, je suis donc obligé d’utiliser Teams pour faire mes réunions.

Pourriez-vous m’indiquer comment résoudre ce problème et, si possible, vérifier s’il s’agit d’un problème connu lié à une récente mise à jour ?

From time to time, sometimes after Firefox updates, I get unintelligible characters on tabs, search bar on Firefox. It gets more frustrating because the issue extends to the Settings menu, so applying the fixes I see on the web is definitely not easy.

I am on macOS, a newer chip and below is what I tried.

Restarting Firefox Checking the library for duplicate font installations. Disabling the extensions Starting Firefox on troubleshoot mode Uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox Uncheck Use recommended performance settings (blindfolded by using the search panel under Firefox Settings) Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available (blindfolded by using the search panel under Firefox Settings)

How do I make firefox my default browser when using search bar on task bar for windows 11. Although all my settings have the default browser as firefox microsoft, edge is what comes up when I use the taskbar search window.

I am unable to make or receive video calls in Facebook and WhatsApp. I used to be able to in Facebook. The message I get is that my browser doesn't support video calls. What is wrong?

This has happened on two different video sites already. While watching a video, it will go extremely dark and happens randomly. I also get a weird blank window frame sporadically. I've unjustly been reporting this to one of the video sites until I noticed the same thing on Youtube.

Accidentally told Fire-Fox to allow access to a website without two step authentication. I want to restore the ability to the website so the website requires a phone call to sign in.

I'm on FF 154.0. The power went out here and when it came back and I booted the desktop computer something had changed in FF.

I used to see the active tab as green in the tab bar and yellow for the rest, but now they're all gray until I mouse over the bar and only then does it turn green/yellow.

I struggled with this for many hours trying many //active tab color// solutions I found in searches but nothing got it back to my old behavior.

So as a last resort I tried adding the Firefox Color extension, but when I click Add to Firefox it just turns into a throbber that never changes so it doesn't install. I'm stuck!

Frustrated!!

I am a loyal firefox user and have used it for years. Security and features are great. I use Google docs constantly throughout the workday on my Mac and I am constantly having problems with Firefox. Google docs that I work in are constantly re-loading, incompletely downloading, going offline. I typically have 5-10 docs across the platform open at a time, and the problems are preventing me from working effectively. I have tried searching help forums and done the fixes suggested (repeatedly clearing cookies and cache, turning off protections, etc). Nothing works. Any ideas before I switch the Chrome (yuck)?

Somehow over the years I ended up with two accounts. Today, after an update, FireFox opened up but without passwords. In order to get them back, I have to sign in to FireFox. Okay, that's easy. I enter the email address, the password (yes, it is correct - I checked two different ways), and it says that I am already signed in through the other account. I open that account and it says I must sign in. I am running 155.0.1 latest version at the time of this writing. I am able to log into Netflix, but cannot play content. Part of their trouble shooting was to disable and re-enable DRM (widevine). The problem is that now that I have done so, I cannot get widevine installed again. Is there a manual way to get this installed, clean up what Netflix was so gallant about messing up on my computer? I have seen some old and sketchy posts on redit and other places that suggest ways to do this, but they scare me. I searched the forums here, and didn't see anything that directly affected my question, although I might have missed it.

I hopped over to the ideas page because I had a couple suggestions, and found I was not alone because lo and behold someone else had the same ideas. So I decided to agree by hitting the kudos button, but imagine my surprise when instead of adding to the number of users who supported the idea, this feature only seemed to reload the page for me!
