"Chosen solution

If you want to restore the previously used standalone window to manage search engines then you can toggle this pref to false with a middle-click on the about:config page.

   about:config page: browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false

Close and restart Firefox to the change effective. "

I LOVE Firefox but it is so frustrating when I can't just right click and "paste and search"

i have to do A LOT of searching for work and I had to switch to chrome for a few days until I found this solution because the new search box messed with our internal software (sorry I would tell you more but I don't really understand computers that much, but I am so glad to have my old friendly fox back!!!)... Thanks guys, Brit

I (we) have paid a recurring $7.00 per month credit card payment to "Github" for 1/14 to 1/15. I'm now requesting a partial refund. That's a grand total of: $91.00 refund to my on-file credit card, ( January 3rd, 2014 to January,3rd, ,2015, 13 months). There is no such thing as "Github," and/or unreachable, and/or "Github" account ("gorchov/LEADOUT429" online ID, user name) was destroyed or lost. In any case "Github support" either doesn't exist, refuses to answer my emails, or, more than likely, lost my account a year ago. So, please, approve and authorize my 13-month refund. Thank you, Sincerely, Michael Gorchovphv (ProHacVice Cert.)

Hope it's OK to ask a Windows question like this.I just wanted a different angle on how to approach this. One day I noticed I couldn't control some user settings and it said that a System Administrator was in control of those settings.I've heard if you ask Microsoft IT they will say that it's always been there and don't mess with it.Now I've read there is a way to get it back to where it was (like know one could just come on my computer and control it!!!!!!!!!!!!) but I have not been able to get rid of this intrusive, arrogant, piece of you know what.I have never belong to any Home group or anything of that ilk.If I did that's fine at least no one would just come on my computer and start controlling certain aspects of it!!!!I can not tell you how violated I feel about this.I understand the internet was invented to connect you to the outside world and to communicate with one another.I'm also a huge security/privacy freak. So this Group Policy thing appearing out of nowhere and coming and going and changing things on my computer when ever it wants?!!!!!!,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone tell me how to get off Group Policy?Home, work, group, what ever it is?You guys have always been helpful.Thank you.

Since you don't provide and email address so I can talk to you I will post my remarks here. Dear Mozilla, I was aware you are progressive in your political views when I started using Firefox, but I didn’t care since we all have a right to our views. I try to be tolerant of other people’s views. When you fired your CEO because his views didn’t fit your own, your true colors began to show. Your bigotry, hatred, and intolerance became very obvious. Progressives like to say they are tolerant of others views until those views differ from their own then they attack with a sledge hammer and destroy them. The hypocrisy of your actions makes it perfectly clear you are only tolerant of those with views like your own. You have no respect for the first amendment or people exercising their first amendment rights. Your intolerance is inhumane and un-American. I am removing all Mozilla software from my computers and will recommend all my family and friends do the same. With the upmost contempt, Robert A Minor

Windows 7 update KB3035583 places a windows icon on task bar and if selected will allow "Get Windows 10" I would like to block this from being installed on my computer. I have removed this from my computer at least three times. The removal sequence if asked is as follows:

1. Go to search 2. Type cmd.exe 3. Press Enter 4. Type "powershell" 5. Press Enter 6. Copy and paste wusa /uninstall /kb:3035583 7. Press Enter 8. Wait a few minutes 9. When prompted click Yes. 10. Wait a few more minutes 11. Restart your computer now or later. 12. Upon restarting your icon will be gone. 13. Done

I found this on the internet.

Thanks and hope you can help.

On the off chance that someone who cares actually reads this, I 'll simply comment that I have pushed non-Mozilla products aside for many years in favor of Mozilla and what I believed to be an honest pursuit of individual freedom. Your CEO resignation exposes that to be tenuous at best.

As you certainly must realize, you've really stepped in it now and the damage is really only starting.

The rub isn't whether or not me or millions like me agree or disagree with Brenden Eich's position on traditional marriage, but the utter intolerance demonstrated through these actions in the very name of freedom and tolerance.

How unfortunate. I suspect this may be the final nail on the Mozilla coffin. Time will tell.

So I finally get a Surface Pro 3 and bring it home. Excited to install the "touch" version of Firefox, since I've used it on my non-touch computers for at least a decade, only to find that they've cancelled the development.

WTF?! Seriously? Worse is that I found the reason posted in a blog, "Not enough interest". Hmm, maybe it's because nobody knew about it? Even those that did, couldn't get it to work in the touch environment. Maybe it's because it wasn't released as a "release" and always as a Beta?

Here is a fact, you've lost this user for good. Development on this old version of non-touch is what you should stop on. I mean, what computers today AREN'T touch screen? If they're not, your current and even past versions are more than enough.

Firefox had a chance to gain some ground but that is now gone. Instead they've chosen to go with the smaller market Android, build their own OS (Good luck with that) and continue developing a "desktop" mode that is more than fine.

Instead they're leaving behind a market share that is larger than both Apple and Android COMBINED. Here's an idea - FIRE your management team 'cause they don't know crap about their users. If you ever release a version in the Windows Market, great. Until then, I'm gone and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Thanks but now I have to get this impossible to use desktop version off my Surface.

I am on a very small VA Disability Pension (total and permanent) and can't afford to make an error with my finances.

I am very slowly getting up to speed on all things Computer related (email, browser, search engines, operating systems, etc).

Because I am also 60 % blind (strokes) I also have great difficulty working with computers (PC Win 7, 4 GB RAM, Intel 5 Dual Core, Dell Studio Desktop) (Android Safelink Lifeline Cell Phone)

Today I experienced a server Computer Infection that disabled all Computer Security (Microsoft Security Essentials and SpyBot Search & Destroy) when I tried to do a Full Scan with MS Security Essentials. I eventually regained full security control and successfully completed a Full Scan with both software anti-malware programs.

Just read a Consumer Reports article on Recommended Anti-Malware-Virus Software for PC and MAC Computers. It recommend Bitdefender Free Edition and paid Internet Security 2018 Edition Software.

I almost always use Firefox (original) Browser for just about everything I do.

But I do have IE and Google Chrome installed because I am a Disabled Veteran and I have to use only those browsers to access Federal DOD Accounts and Federal DES Accounts, etc

I just now did a Chat with Bitdefender Technical Support and they said there is no remaining compatibility problem between Firefox and Bitdefender. 100 % Compatible ? . So I did a search using DuckDuckGo, Bitdefender, Mozilla internet sites and found plenty of problems that appear to have been solved recently ?

I am also thinking of upgrading to Firefox Focus and Thunderbird to improve PC & Cell Phone Privacy and Security.

Bitdefender recommends uninstalling all Security Software before attempting to install any Edition of Bitdefender and the Technical Support Person I Chatted with confirmed this.

The Technical Support Person recommended Bitdefender Total Security 30 day free trial version because I was going to install the Free version to test it out and then if it had no problems with Firefox, Google Chrome, and IE then I was thinking of upgrading next month April 2019 to the Internet Security 2019 Edition.

Right now Bitdefender has a special price on the Total Security Edition of 44 USD as apposed to the 40 USD for the Internet Security 2018 Edition

What do you all think I should do ? Install Bitdefender Total Security 30 day trial and then upgrade to paid 44 USD Edition ?

Thank You oh so much for any and all your time and thoughts on this issue of Compatibly Privacy and Security.
