Windows 10 Pro v 22H2 Firefox 121.0.1 (64-bit)

I have tried preventing Firefox from autostarting with Windows start up by examining these potential program starting locations:

Firefox-Settings-General: "Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up": Option not available about:config - toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart - set to "false" No listing for Mozilla or Firefox in Windows 10 "Startup Apps" settings page No listing for Mozilla or Firefox in Windows 10 msconfig.exe/System Configuration-Startup No listing for Firefox in Windows 10 Task Scheduler No Firefox program in Windows 10 - %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder All Firefox extensions (2) are disabled

Where else should I be looking? Thank you

Mozilla, this is unacceptable! You are letting this one domain crash my entire ShellUI.exe for twenty to thirty minutes. ACLJ It is trying to make runtime crash every program. What do you care? Note: Open the site in a sub-system. This is the only site that every crashes on any legal G. S. Windows 11. Will you do anything to fix this huge bug?

Hello. About a month ago FF stopped working on our installation of Windows 10. Affecting 2 PCs. Not finding much new information on the internet about it.

We are not IT professionals, so our ability to troubleshoot is limited to recommendations from Mozilla. Tried creating a new profile, clearing cache, refreshing, reinstalling, etc., and other instructions found within Mozilla's support center (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems).

Any direction is appreciated. Is this a common issue?

Greetings, all,

I get this error messsage:

<We are unable to complete your request. Our system is currently unavailable. Please try again later.>

when i try to log on to my USAA bank accounts.

Tech support at the bank worked with me for an hour. We changed password, cleared the cache for the bank's apps, restarted Firefox, restarted the computer, all to no avail. I declined to try Google, simply because i don't trust it. Tech support person said another bank customer had had same problem and just changed browsers, which i don't want to do.

TIA for any help.

Since the last update (earlier this week) firefox uses large amounts of memory. It shows in the windows task manager 20 and more instances of firefox being open and one of them using 85%-90% of the available memory. I looked up help articles regarding this issue and one of them mentioned to "Delete content-prefs.sqlite file". When I do that it will help for a short period of time but then the issue is happening again. I'm using Windows 11 64 bit.

I'd appreciate some advice on how to deal with this.

Hi, I noticed about a week ago that when I would have Firefox windows open on more than 3 of my displays, the newest window, when maximized, would appear with white bars. This does not occur when Windowed or when troubleshoot mode is on. I have attached a photo of the error (suggestions omitted for my own privacy). Bugged window does not respond in this state and cursor does not blink etc. Other Firefox windows work fine. I'm running a custom color scheme, Dark Reader for Firefox, and AdBlock for Firefox. Issue does not occur with Chrome or Edge, which have the same, if not more extensions loaded. Glitch presented itself near the beginning of November.

Please help!

I'll check on this every once in a while, and am willing to run tests.

It seems like more often lately that in the past. I just tried to post on the Portableapps website, and had all sorts of problems there.

I had to use Chrome to post. Actually, when I went first opened the page in Chrome, I got an alert that six trackers were found, and did i want to disable them.

Perhaps that relates to Firefox and accounts for some of the bad behavior?

I'm getting tired of this. There must be a happy medium between security and unencumbered usage.

Maybe it's one of my apps, i.e. Canvasblocker. It has a ton of settings options, and I don't have a clue what to do with them. Aside from that and Ublock, I don't see any others that fit that category.

Maybe it's something in my browser settings?

All items except but the top one (privacy) in the right-side menu in vimeo are partially hidden and so not fully functional. This problem does not occur in Microsoft Edge, and so it evidently is a Firefox problem. My system: AMD 3900X Running Windows 10 Home, Nvidia GTX950 graphics card, 32 GB memory, The image is a reduced-size screenshot from a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Adjusting the width of the window for Friefox has no effect on the problem.

The problem persists across different sites I frequent, most notably dropout.tv and archive.org. videos I try to watch either don't play in the browser at all, or play without any sound, even though nothing is muted. When watching videos on YouTube or Amazon Prime, Firefox will eventually stop recognizing keyboard and mouse input in all windows and tabs. This can happen after just a few minutes of video or after hours. It affects nearly all input: typing or clicking in webpages, the toolbar, the address bar, etc., though I can click the 'x' button to close tabs. When I close the final window, a dialogue will appear stating that Firefox is non-responsive and allowing me to kill the process. This seems unusual, because the OS's system monitor indicates there is plenty of unused and available RAM and CPU resources. Firefox behaves normally after restarting.

OS: Xubuntu 22.04 Firefox version: 120.0 (though previous versions have been affected for the last few months)
