I'm very like the firefox mobile readling list feature. It enables me read article offline. I want to read the articles offline in desktop version. Now both my mobile and desktop version join the same firefox synchronization account. But in firefox version, currently it can only save article in pocket. I know pocket has the same function as reading list in firefox mobile, but I think they are two different account, though I register them with the same email address. My question is how to synchronize my readling list in mobile to desktop version and access and read them in desktop firefox. My firefox has upgraded to latest version 44.0

If I use autofill, I have no problem (I double click in a field and get the 2 profile choices I have set up, click on one and then the form fills). But if I have to manually type into a profile field on any site Firefox creates a new autofill profile. I have to go into settings to delete the extras. There should be an option for "create new profiles automatically" that I can turn on or off.

An open letter to Mozilla, and the Firefox developers

Dear Mozilla, There are features that Firefox should have, but doesn't. A lot of these features are things that Chrome or other browsers have. Other features are things t… (tuilleadh eolais)

Dear Mozilla,

There are features that Firefox should have, but doesn't. A lot of these features are things that Chrome or other browsers have. Other features are things that Firefox used to have before Quantum, through either (now incompatible) addons or the vanilla experience. However, all of these features I value in a browser and I would dearly like to see them in Firefox. (By the way, I tried sending feedback to Mozilla (multiple times), but nothing happened. I really just need to rant.)

Some of these include the options to:

> shift-click on multiple tabs to drag them together to a new window,

> select and open multiple, specific bookmarks from the Library or a bookmark folder on the toolbar in a new regular or private window,

> choose our default bookmark folder, or have Firefox remember the last saved folder,

> translate a full page like Google Chrome with Google Translate (or another service),

> disable certain addons and extensions when using Private Browsing mode,

> have other found items highlighted when using the Ctrl + F "Find in This Page" function,

> have more than one Firefox profile open simultaneously, and

> export bookmarks from one particular folder.

Chromium browsers also have a built-in cookie manager that I think is needed a lot in Firefox. You can look at it here: https://imgur.com/a/RaCdrhI

Also, if Firefox will only run under WebExtensions from 57+ onward, and since WebExtensions has more limits on what an extension can do than XUL and the Add-on SDK, can we please have more native customization options for Firefox's UI? Specifically, I would like the options:

> to customize and add options to the context menu (like rearranging default and add-on context menu items to different positions, or adding menu items for sharing or printing a page, etc.),

> to increase or decrease the size of the menus,

> to add "fixed-width" spaces (small spaces that don't adjust like flexible-width spaces) and dividers,

> to add items and options (dividers, spaces, addons, etc.) to all toolbars and menus, like to the address/Awesome Bar (directly to it, or to the 'Page actions' section), the main, top right menu, the overflow menu, and the context menu,

> to be able to move the overflow menu, and

> to change or disable keyboard shortcuts without having to install any add-ons, ideally through the about:preferences page.

I, and many others, were first drawn to Firefox by its customization and super user tools. Firefox will, I hope, continue to be one of the leaders in the FOSS movement, and I appreciate the push to make it faster and more secure. However, when most of the functionality that made it unique is stripped, and it is still lacking in essential features found in other browsers, it makes it hard to feel hopeful for and to continue to use. If Firefox will someday regain it's charm, applying these changes would substantially help.

Thank you.

When I try to download any file a confirmation dialog appears (see attached file). I don't need it. Its quite annoying. I just need to download a file without any confirmations. How to disable this behaviour? As you see there is no no checkbox "Do not ask me again..." or "Always perform this action when handling files of this type" in this dialog. I also set up option "browser.download.forbid_open_with" to true in about:config but it doesn't help. I need to start downloading immediately after opening a link to exe-file (this one for example): https://www.win-rar.com/postdownload.html?&L=4&f=winrar-x64-561am.exe&spV=true

FireFox Add-Ons Product Suggestion:

It would be extremely helpful if as soon as you open Firefox Add-Ons (whether it be Explore, Extensions, Themes Or More) that there be an indicator of some sort, that you already have that FF Add-On. It is quite cumbersome to have to select each item to find out if you already have it. Many items will come up in more than one search query.

Suggestion to reimagine tabs-bookmarks relationship

Hi there! I always end up having many tabs open in several windows and today I clued into how much time I waste trying to find the right window. I currently have 128 tabs open over 5 windows and every time I shut down and start up Firefox I "restore previous session". I started looking today for a way to label my windows so that I can have them as categories like "Music", "School", "Health", "General Learning", etc. I use a Macbook and use the 4 finger swipe down or up all the time and wanted to see my windows labeled to clearly see the types of tabs I have open regardless of what tab was up front. There are a few plug ins that do that but I don't like the permissions that they need like "Access your data for all websites". it seemed excessive for just a label.

Then I thought. well it's basically a visual bookmark system. but I don't use bookmarks because everything disappears once I put it in bookmarks - it becomes less relevant when it's next to things from 8 years ago. here's what I imagine:

Primary idea:

- windows and bookmark folders are virtually the same thing, and tabs and bookmarks are virtually the same thing.

- I can command-click or option-click on one of the bookmarks in a folder and it opens in a window that is labeled as the bookmark folder name

--- I can command-click-drag to open several bookmarks as tabs in a window that is labeled as the bookmark folder name

--- new bookmarks I open from that folder open as tabs in the window of the same name if it's already open

Secondary thoughts for better flow:

- button in top corner of window will open a list of all the tabs open in that window but the list will be wide enough that you can actually read what the tab is instead of just the first 5 letters.

--- this way I can easily reorganize my open tabs.

--- below list of open tabs in that window is a list of the other bookmarks in that folder that aren't opened that I can click on to open or drag up into the the "open" list and drop it where I want that tab to open up.

--- if you want to get real fancy I can drag the tab from the list back up to the top corner and the other open window lists open up so I can move it to a different window - alternatively I can right click on it and select "move to" or "copy to" and choose a window or bookmark folder.

- colouring or aging can show how recently each tab or bookmark was opened - This link shows what I mean https://trello.com/power-ups/55a5d917446f517774210012/card-aging

- Turn on an option that when I hover over the title it shows a small render of the site (in bookmark menu or tab list)

Troubles to think about:

- Discerning between short term bookmarks (stored tabs) and long term bookmarks (regular bookmarks) - perhaps add a "lock" to the bookmarks you want to keep.

--- some bookmarks i want permanently saved until I delete the bookmark (how it works now)

--- some I want to be more transient so that when I close the tab it means I'm done with it (how I treat tabs now)

--- when implementing the "move to" or "copy to" suggestion above, you may want that move or copy to be a permanent or transient bookmark. I suggest keeping the "bookmark" word to mean permanent so perhaps a "bookmark to" option.

--- Perhaps closing a window doesn't remove them from the bookmarks folder, but closing the tabs individually does unless it's "locked"

All of this will help me to keep my tabs to a minimum when I start firefox and when I want to pick up on a different subject I can easily open all of the relevant tabs - most of which aren't "bookmark" worthy at this point, they're just there till I deal with them and close them. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. I feel this would dramatically increase my organization and workflow so I'm here to help

Sincerely, Rick

There should be an OTG mode for Firefox. It's sort of like a guest account on public PCs. Basically, a "PPC" mode in Firefox should be turned on to note that the browser is not for personal use, only in public PCs like at libraries and internet cafés.

You can sign in using your Firefox account, and a 2FA request will be sent to your mobile devices running the Firefox mobile app. You can call this feature "Firefox passport"

This will allow sync until you close the browser window.

Also, when visiting others with a PC with Firefox, you can temporarily enable this by clicking "Sign in as a guest" in the hamburger menu (Is that what you call the 3 lines in the right of the awesome bar?)

Again, temporary sync until the browser is closed.
