Out of the blue all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared, When I follow your instructions there are no backups in your files. Toolbar is missing and right clicking shows a check mark but no toolbar, I have already switched to Chrome and guess what they have all my bookmarks but no passwords. Passwords are no problem I saved them more so than you backed up your files. I guess it was an update, I don't know. I am 85 years old and have used Firefox a number of those years, probably longer than whoever reads this has has been with us.I guess you know which path I'll be taking from now on. Just thought I would let you know. PS and there will not be anymore automatic updating I'll do it myself I trust me. Stick a fork in me I'm done !

This isn't exactly something that is broken but it is something that is plenty weird and I wondered if anyone has an idea how it happens.

I shut down my Linux laptop one day and when I started it the next day, all my tabs were gone. Annoying, but I spent some time searching for the most important ones and got on with my life.

We have a class picture book that is only accessible by faculty from campus or using the secure VPN. It helps us to learn people's names. It is an HTML file. One day, I needed to look someone up. Ordinarily that would open a new tab in the browser I have running, but it didn't. A whole new Firefox appeared for it and there were all my lost tabs.

Wut?

Now I can use the picture book to alternate between my old tabs and my new ones. How on Earth can this happen? It isn't exactly something that is broken, just something I don't understand.

I had an ongoing problem with Firefox on my PC - it worked correctly on my laptop. So I backed up my bookmarks using MozBackup and re-installed Firefox. This didn't have the Bookmarks bar so I enabled that. When I now try to restore the bookmarks using MozBackup it reports everything ok. But when I open Firefox the bookmarks are not there. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

after the last update all my password saved are gone i cannot access many accounts becasue i dont have the password or login i am very upset that i trusted firefox to keep my password now i am in trouble can you please help me to recover my saved password

i could n tlog in into my account becasue i forgot the password so i reset a new password hoping to see my saved password but du=idnt work

Hi, I recently had to reinstall windows and I lost access to my Firefox bookmarks. I did not manually export my bookmarks before reinstalling and now i couldn't find them in my current Firefox setup. Is there any way to recover my old bookmarks or restore my previous Firefox profile date? can you please guide me on what can I do to retrieve them if possible? thank you.

I just made your suggested "reorganisation" of the Firefox Browser with the result that all my hard collation of all my bookmarks, website and passwords are presently gone!!! I can only hope that you have a possibility to recover my datas.

Please advise your instruction to recover my websites, bookmarks etc.

I've had a Firefox account on my workstation at work so that I can take my browsing with me when I am at a different workstation, sign in and sync no problems.

This morning I was provisioned a new laptop workstation and when I attempted to sync my profile nothing shows up. I am pretty confident I've signed back in to the correct account since I do this from time to time. Unfortunately the old workstation is unrecoverable hence why I was given a new one so I can't backup and import.

Checking the email account I used to set up the profile I found an email from March saying the account would be deleted since I haven't been active. This can't be the case because I have been using this account five days a week for the last 7 years.

Any suggestions on how to recover my profile and move forward?

recently bought new desktop and upgraded win10 to win11 in the process (preloaded). I found 'places:sqlite' in win10 firefox and copied it to usb drive. How do I copy it to win11 firefox? i.e. where is the folder containing the sqlite file in win11? will copying the file also place the bookmarks in the win10 firefox locations? Will the layout preferences transfer over (hate to be negative, but I hate the win11 firefox interface that was preloaded on the new win11 machine.) thanks for anyhelp.

I tried everything I could find and still no luck. Read firefox stores 15 prior session setting to restore from and they are nowhere to be found. I'm at a lose on how to move forward. First firefox did it and was able to recover a couple of weeks ago, now windows update did it!

I had a catastrophic failure of my desktop computer. They were unable to recover over half my files. My bookmarks in Firefox had links to several critical business pages and I really need to get them back however I have been unable to access them or recover them. Is there any way for these to be recovered if the backup wasn't on? I know its a long shot but I have to ask.
