I would like to install the Pangram extension to Firefox. Can you check it to see if it is ok? It seem like a reliable company and I think it will help me sort out AI generated content from human.

Subject: Firefox Sync appears to have erased all bookmarks after setting up a new Windows installation

I believe I have encountered a Firefox Sync issue that resulted in the loss of my entire bookmarks collection.

Here is exactly what happened:

I have been using Firefox Sync for several years without any issues. This was not my first Windows reinstallation. I have restored Firefox through Sync multiple times before. Firefox Sync had always synchronized bookmarks, passwords, history, extensions and open tabs correctly across my Windows PC and Android phone. I had approximately 350 bookmarks, organized into folders. Timeline Yesterday I performed a clean installation of Windows 11. I installed Firefox 152.0.5 (64-bit). I signed into my existing Firefox Account. I did not immediately enable Sync, so nothing was synchronized at that point. Today I enabled Sync and waited for the synchronization to complete. Passwords synchronized successfully. Browsing history synchronized successfully (it took a little longer). Extensions were restored successfully. Bookmarks never appeared.

Immediately after noticing this, I checked Firefox on my Android phone.

At first, one of the bookmark folders still showed that it contained more than 300 items (I saw the item count), but when I opened the folder it was completely empty. After synchronization finished, all bookmarks disappeared from both devices.

Additional information Browsing history is still present. Saved passwords are still present. Extensions are still present. Open tabs synchronization continues to work. Bookmark synchronization is enabled. I am signed into the correct Firefox Account. The second local Firefox profile is empty. The automatic bookmark backup now contains only the current state (7 items), indicating that the original backup has already been overwritten. The current profile contains both places.sqlite and places.sqlite-wal. The only Sync error log is related to a temporary DNS lookup failure (NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST) and contains no bookmark synchronization errors.

Because history, passwords and extensions synchronized correctly, this does not appear to be an account or authentication problem.

What concerns me most is that I briefly saw the bookmark folder still reporting over 300 items on Android before it became empty. This makes me suspect that something went wrong during bookmark synchronization rather than the bookmarks simply never existing on the server.

Could you please advise:

Is there any server-side recovery or investigation that can be performed for Firefox Sync bookmark data? Are there any diagnostic logs that I can provide? Is this a known issue with Firefox Sync after connecting a newly installed device?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance, as this bookmark collection had been accumulated over many years.

I have a Sync error log available: error-sync-1783454370913.txt

It only contains a DNS error related to tabs synchronization: NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST

There are no bookmark-related errors in the log.

I am using Firefox on Linux Ubuntu 26.04. I normally work with multiple tabs. Then I quit Firefox with all tabs open at the point of quitting. Some times on the rare occasion there can be a forced quit due to some issues. In my settings I have configured it not to open the previous tabs. In fact I want a blank page. But whenever I reopen Firefox, it opens those tabs and tries to reload which is annoying. Some of these pages take a long time to reload, and why would I want to look at tabs which I already have read. Or if it crashes due to some website on a tab why reopen something that crashed in the place ? Can you fix this. Thanks.

On google maps on Firefox, I updated my home address, but it loads up with my previous location, not my current one, how to make google maps open to my current location?

Before facebook using reCAPTCHA I can easily logo in my Facebook and Instagram account, but now I always failed to pass the reCAPTCHA， I report this to Meta no good reply. Only today I did the reCAPTCHA and then got a reminder that facebook cannot detect the reCAPTCHA. I still cannot logo on to my facebook and instagram account due to reCAPTCHA. How can I solve this problem. Thx

On Ununtu 24.04 I did an update and youtube doesn't work on FIrefox 152.0.4. I did an update from the Software updater and videos don't play on youtube any more. I go to youtube, click on a suggested video and it goes to that page and everything shows up except the video window. I have the title and the comments and the row of suggested videos on the right, but no video player and no video. Someone suggested I push the F12 key and look under console and there is an error there, a sourcemap error and that it isn't a valid URL . I don't know what that means. I asked on the AskUbuntu site but they get really far down in the weeds and I have no idea what they are asking or saying. I thought I'd see if you guys might know. thanks

Since the last update, I have noticed that some websites/webpages are no longer available, one of which is Lincoln Financial. I can only get so far and I get errors. It is NOT on Lincoln Financial's end, as the site/pages open perfect in Chrome and Safari. This is something new with the security/privacy in Firefox, I am assuming. I need to be able to access this sight, as it is my Long Term Disability site/page, which I need to have communications with.

I think this is going to have to be dealt with on more than a simple help thread. this is going to have to be dealt with with tech support.

I'm on Windows 11. After I added some plug-ins and extensions to replace the ones that went missing during your last update, my bookmarks also went missing. (They were there before I replaced the plug-ins and extensions.) I followed your instructions on how to access my bookmark back ups, and found them. However, everytime, I tried to install one of the backups, I ended up with no bookmarks at all in Firefox.

Please help, I have no access to any of my accounts!

Has Firefox's interface gotten smaller? The tabs and search bar are much more difficult for me to read now, and the symbols are extra tiny. I cannot figure out how to enlarge them, since zooming in only affects individual web pages. I tried looking in Settings, specifically the Accessibility section, but I cannot find a way to enlarge this part of the web browser. Help!

By Firefoxwss working great the last time I used it it is the primary search engine for my iPhone 17 as well as my Mac however, when I loaded it today it the screen just said blank. All of my bookmarks are on Firefox. How do I get this fixed quickly? I am, right now being edited. I’m sitting here looking like a fool because I chose to use Firefox rather than Safari or Google. First question they ask me why are you using Firefox. And then, of course, Firefox /x I/ dies all of my bookmarks are on Firefox. Firefox will not open! I have used Firefox for the last nine years. Never had a problem until today when I needed it not to have a problem.

I am having the problem a fix was created for previously where attempts to sign in to my google account continually redirect to a request to clear cache and cookies. Have done so multiple times, still can't log in. Can log in on Chrome so definitely a Firefox-specific issue.

We have resolved an issue with Google prompting users to ‘clear cookies and site data’ when logging in. A fix has been published, via Firefox remote settings that does not require a Firefox upgrade. Users will receive the update over the next 6hrs, if you would like to update immediately simply restart Firefox.

Note: The issue was related to CHIPS being enabled in Fx131, this feature has been temporarily disabled while we resolve the issues. Users who have disabled 'Allow Firefox to install and run studies' in Privacy & Security settings will need to enable to receive the update.

Starting today (7/8/26), Firefox opens with a "cannot connect" message, have tried multiple online suggestions including downloading and "reinstalling" but nothing works

when i open the browser today i noticed that my wallpaper which i've set isn't showing. i tried restarting and refreshing the browser but it didn't work. so i tried to change my wallpaper or see it again by clicking customize, but i only saw that i have allowed my wallpaper, but no picture or another option was shown.

Beyond My Experience. As I Bring up Firefox Upper Right Flag Yo Update Firefox. IF I DISMISS, TROUBLE STARTS. FOR NO REASON ACCUWEATHR APPEARS. IF I X Firefox Shuts Down. Instead to Remain Online, I have to Use a Bookmark and Continue. Not in My Bookmarks, How Can I Stop That Annoyance Pop Up. Thanks, Joe
