What version of Firefox actually allows you to add extensions? I'm running the most current version of Tumbleweed that ships with 144.0. Attempts to add extensions just sit there doing nothing until I close the tab. This sort of worked some time ago (I forget the version) but the inability of Firefox to allow add-ons/extensions is getting to be a joke. There are other browsers out there, ya know.

Unlike before, many sites that I visit regularly, I am now having to log in every time I visit, including support.mozilla.org.

Did I unknowingly change something, some setting? or perhaps it's due to an addon?

Sometime ago I must have made a typo when entering my email address into a pop-up window in Firefox. Firefox continues to find and use this wrong address in pre-fills but I can't find anyway to correct it. I've worked through Settings/Privacy & Security with no luck. Can someone help please? (Windows 10 Firefox 145.02)

For some months now, LinkedIn does not load 90% of the time. It just 'hangs'. It's the only website that this problem happens. So I switch to another browser to access LinkedIn now, which is my most used site.

Since v.145, comments have been blocked on some forums for me. https://thetyee.ca is one I use regularly, and the comments are blocked. (This is a Coral Comment site.) The spinning wheel just spins (see image 2 below) and sometimes resolves as "blocked" (see image 1 below).

On rare occasions if I delete all cookies, restart the PC and the browser in a private window only, I can sometimes get comments to come up with a "login page" that successfully lets me login, and keeps the link open for a few pages for that session only, but when I open a new session, comments are blocked again. They just don't appear. when I am successful, it looks like image 3 below.

I never adjust settings, and only occasionally delete cookies, so I've looked into other help articles in the forum that have pointed out enhanced tracker protection might be a problem: I have whitelisted all the sites I use for ETP but only one or two now sometimes work properly (using disqus) while the others do not. Tyee support is unable to help - they say very few have made any complaints.

There are other sites that limit my access or functionality now because they say "You have an ad blocker installed". I don't have an adblocker installed. I've never installed an adblocker. But that's secondary. Perhaps if we get this issue solved (due to a setting?), that second issue will go away too. Or maybe not.

I see it's simply not possible to get rid of ETP. Do I have to get rid of Firefox?

Hi Mozzies When I try to play news videos from my local radio station I get this error. The videos originate from our local TV channel which uses Brightcove hosting. Safari and Google Chrome can play the videos. If I go to the source on the TV channel, I can play the video. Hardware MacBook Pro OSX 10.14.6. FireFox version 115.30.0esr (64-bit)

I believe I had all this synced in Firefox Settings before I made the upgrade. Like all you fellow former users of Windows 10, I had to upgrade to Windows 11; and did so two days ago. Now, I found that I do not have under History any of the former sites I not only visited but also had tabs open. What can I do, if anything, to recover them? Under the Add-ons Manager, if this helps, I already had the app Tab Session Manager, but don't know how to use it. Thanks to all in advance who may have made this same upgrade. Many out there are still on Windows 10.

If I go to the profile folder, exit firefox then copy and paste the folder to a backup location. The attempted backup fails. Something about permissions as I recall. I have tried many things unsuccessfully. Something has changed that does not allow for the backup of profile folders. Adding a backup option to the profile manager would be nice. I noticed some people have found work-arounds but I need a straight-forward procedure for backing up my folders. No work-arounds please, just a simple procedure. May I ask for help with this issue?

My Bookmarks are missing. I see backups under the profile/bookmarkbackups folder but when I manage bookmarks, they are not in the restore dropdown. I have followed the steps to delete the places.sqlite but when I reopen firefox, I do not see the bookmarks have been restored. I thought it might have been related to Norton Utilities so I renewed a subscription but no luck. I also have a json file with my bookmarks but I cannot choose it from Manage Bookmarks, either

When I turn on my Mac and click the Firefox browser icon, it will not load. It hangs. I get a "not responding" message and have to "force quit," again and again until FINALLY it loads, after five or more failed attempts. This does not happen with Firefox on my laptop, only my Mac. Both Firefox and my Mac are up to date. Why is this happening? Please help. It happens every day when I try to load the browser. I am about to give up and move to Safari. Relatedly, anyone know if it's possible to export all my bookmarks from Firefox to Safari?

So I reformatted my hard drive and everytime I finish I reinstall Firefox. I have an account where I log in and it put me back where I left off with all my past bookmarks that I saved. Ive been doing this for 10 years but today not sure whats going on but when I logged if all my stuff has disappeared. Please help or contact Mozilla regarding this. I cant understand why one cant directly speak to the ones who developed this browser. Quite frustrating

This is a privacy problem, because most of the time when I open a website like google.com, I don't want to be logged in so the website can identify me. I only keep a container tab for such a website around, so I can open it if I explicitly want to be logged in.

Since more than a month, when firefox was updated, all my bookmarks seem to be gone,which includes a lot of valuable research made over the past few years.

I have tried all suggestions that google give me to restore my bookmarks, but as far as I understand, there are no newer ones since 2019 (nor older ones than 2018) on my computer? That's what I find in a folder called 'bookmarkbackups' with json-files. Separately I also searched for 'json' and '.jsonlz4' and found nothing after 2019. Also I searched for .html, but nothing seemed to contain bookmark directly.

When I go to manage bookmarks > 'import/export' icon in the upper bar, it suggests two options, for 'nov 13 2025', or today's date), of which none provide me with any bookmarks.

Can I somehow still recover my research?

Do I really need to backup manually?

Or need I start saving all URLs in a word-document for my new research project?...

Firefox seems to update regularly, I currently have version 145.01. (I work on a Mac 2021, with Ventura 13.7.8)

I highly appreciate any advice on this matter.

Hi there. The Netflix homepage is no longer displayed properly. Only the headlines are visible without the thumbnails (see screenshot 1). Netflix is properly displayed in screenshot 2 which was taken in an other browser. Can somebody please help me to solve this problem. Many thanks.

After Installing new system on my laptop and singing in to my Mozilla account nothing was restored from it. Everything is empty as it is completely new account but I created this one few years back and never had a problem with a sync. Hopefully it will be restored since I had large amount of important bookmarks. If you can check and resolve it please. Thank you.

Firefox is stuck in a loop! After installing the 145 update, it just keeps asking me to sign into with my admin credentials to install "a new helper tool" over and over. After entering my password nothing happens and when I try to relaunch, the FF icon just bounces. ("Force Quit" shows that the application is not responding.) After multiple attempts, I rebooted my laptop, but it didn't help, as I still get the request for installing the helper too. I'm in the midst of multiple project deadlines and this is very frustrating! Thanks in advance for your help.

Recently google's advanced search page changed from how it's been displayed for years -- seemingly only on firefox. And I hate the change. It still displays as always on DuckDuckGo and Safari. Firefox is my preferred browser, but I use goodle advanced search myriad times every day and this is changed version is such a PITA that it's approaching being a dealbreaker for me. Sure, I'd like to know wth happened and why, but really I just want google advanced search to return to my preferred display. (It does not just look different, it performs differently, in little ways that matter a lot to me over the multiple times I use it. Be glad to elucidate if it matters.) First attached image is what I'm now getting on ff. Second attached image is what I used to get on ff, and still get on DDG and Safari, and would like back on ff. Please help.
