I'm using Firefox version 92.0 (64 bit) on an HP 350 G1 notebook running Windows 10.

It seemed that it was after the 92.0 (64 bit) update that I cannot open bookmarks that are PDFs. The correct URL is present, but nothing loads, it's just a blank black page. I have tried turning off the add-ons and refreshing the page, closing and reopening Firefox with the add-ons manually turned off, restarting Firefox with the add-ons disabled, and restarting in safe mode. All of the attempts were performed without any positive results.
I can copy the URL on Firefox and paste it in Edge, and it opens the correct page. I installed Chrome against my better judgment and pasted the URL, and the correct page opens again. I can copy the URL in either Edge or Chrome, paste it on Firefox, and the same results occur as if I clicked on the link in my bookmarks on Firefox. I can click on the bookmark from either the home page or a page that's already opened, and nothing happens. The URL doesn't change on the existing page, and on the home page, "Search with DuckDuckGo or enter address" in the UL space does not change to the URL that I'm trying to open. Is there something I'm missing?
This is one of the URLs that I am trying to open if you want to try it yourself on Firefox: https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf
I only ever use Edge when I'm having an issue with Firefox, (usually it's when I'm trying to log on to an account or something and I can't, then I realize that it may be one of my add-ons preventing it. I then disable them one by one until I'm able to achieve what I want.
I don't want to have to switch back and forth between Firefox and Edge just to view three PDFs, so if someone knows what could be the resolution to this, I would appreciate it greatly.

Is there a way to change the location of the default storage directory? I'm talking about ~/.mozilla/firefox/tjdaag57.default-release/storage/default which gradually fills with files from all the websites I've visited. That directory slowly increases in size and I don't want that, so I'm looking for a way to change the location where these files go.

I browsed a clothing website for less than 5 minutes by typing in the address and not using any links. Shortly after I receive an email asking if I was still interested in what I was looking at. Does Firefox share my email address with websites I'm visiting? I believe the email is coming from SafeOpt, not the website I visited. I do have "do not track" options selected in Firefox.

I'm about to lose it and uninstall this browser for good. Once again, I've been thrown a disgusting color palette and design down on my throat with no choice to change it with the latest update. Firefox Color doesn't work anymore. Any tips on how to change the browser colors and keep it that way? No I don't want any themes, I want my own colors.

I am trying to change my e-mail address by following the steps provided in here. According to the support pages, in order to do that I need to add a secondary e-mail address and then make it primary.

Until there everything's clear. My issue, though, comes precisely when I try to add that information. The system doesn't recognize the new address. Instead, a message appears saying "Account already exists", when that's not possible, since I never delivered it or linked it with Firefox before, nor even I have received or accepted any validation through the said e-mail. I'm guessing that Mozilla ain't grasping that the address really belongs to another e-mail client.

Illustration: Let's say my current address is <example100@outlook.com> When I try to add the following secondary address <example100@protonmail.com>, the aforementioned message will prompt.

Why? What's going on? Is there any solution available? Thank you beforehand, I can't wait to hear from somebody with a remedy.

Before I close the Firefox browser i go to Settings>Clear Data> Cookies & Site Data>Cached Web Content. I clear all and the Cached Web Content is lowered to 45kb. History is deleted. There is nothing in Manage Data or Manage Exceptions. The computer is turned off. A day later the computer is turned on and Cached Web Content is 2Mb.

Windows Defender anti-virus malware scan and full scan have been run. The computer is up to date, Win 10 Home, version 21H1, OS build 19043.1237.

Any idea what is causing Cached Web Content to grow from 45kb to 2 Mb when the computer is turned off?

Hi! I use Firefox on Ubuntu 20.04.3. I tried to speed up video on Sharepoint. Right click -> speed -> 2.0 and nothing happend. When I right click -> speed again, I saw that speed still 1.0. Then I went to google, found that Sharepoint allow speed up videos only in HTML5 player. Then I knew that to do that in Firefox I should disable Hardware acceleration, so I did it, but it didn't help. OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco add-on is activate.

Then I decided that's Ubuntu. I install ubuntu-restricted-extras, ffmpeg packages (to support h.264 video), restarted, but again that didn't work.

youtube.com/html5 saying that everything fine.

Hi guys,

I wanted to include Pinterest walls into my Forum and the only browser where they are not shown is Firefox. The add works fine in Opera & Safari. My javascript.enabled is "true", but maybe it's another Javascript setting that needs to be true too?

The code is like this: <a data-pin-do="embedBoard" data-pin-lang="de" data-pin-board-width="900" data-pin-scale-height="400" data-pin-scale-width="450" href="https://www.pinterest.de/amazed130610/rayna/"></a> <script async defer src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks a lot!

Joyce

Help!! How do I hide the tab bar in version 92?

I put off updating to version 92 because I knew what would happen: I'd have to jump through hoops to hide the tab bar again. I NEVER use tabs. I have a wide screen monitor and I prefer opening new windows to using tabs. In that way I can look at 2 or more pages at the same time.

Firefox leaves full-screen mode when window manager remaps window to be in a frame and re-sizable.

In the window-manager that I use (KDE plasma), I can ask the window-manager to exit full-screen mode, without telling the window. This allows me to tell a window to be in full-screen mode, while in a framed window. I have attached a screen-shot of chrome showing a youtube video. Both youtube and the chrome are in full screen mode, however the window manager has re-sized it and added decorations (title-bar&frame), and is allowing me to resize, move, minimize, maximize, etc.

This works for every program that I have used (that has a full-screen mode). However it is not working for Firefox. It seems that Firefox is triggering off of the wrong event.

My guess: the window-manager sets NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN to enter full-screen, and would normally clear this attribute to exit full screen. When we exit full-screen, but stay in full-screen mode, the attribute is not cleared. However Firefox is triggering off of something else such as a re-size event.

Use-case: What I am trying to do

  1. Enter full screen mode: browser hiders tab-bar, and address bar, maybe web-page changes layout (e.g. you-tube resizes video player to fill window)
  2. Tell Window-manager to leave full-screen-mode, but not inform browser (or other app). Browser is now still hiding tab-bar, address-bar, site is till showing video in whole-window, but window can be moved and re-sized.

This works for every other app that I have user. (Some apps don't have full-screen-mode, so this does not apply to them. But it works for all that do have it.)
