I often use the Sync function to bring open tabs over from my smartphone to my desktop computer. I have noticed over the past month or so, this functionality has become increasingly unreliable and sometimes does not function at all. At the moment I have no synced tabs showing on my desktop. I have signed out and back in to Mozilla on both my smartphone and desktop multiple times, checked the sync settings, and nothing seems to resolve this. There have been a couple Firefox updates on both the desktop and mobile side, none of which have changed this behavior.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? What other trouble shooting steps can I perform? Any help is much appreciated.

As of last week, FF works for a few minutes on startup, but then when you open a new tab and try to go to a site you just get the dancing period, nothing opens. Already open tabs with sites generally still work, but sometimes crash the tabs after a bit. We've tried starting without extensions, uninstalling and reinstalling FF, changing the profile, logging in the PC (Win 10, up to date) with a different login, running SFC and DISM on the PC, and just about everything else.

Opening the FF console shows this message when the tab just rocks the period:

WindowsJumpLists: Failed to fetch favicon for https://online.adp.com/signin/v1/?APPID=WFNPortal&productId=80e309c3-7085-bae1-e053-3505430b5495&returnURL=https://workforcenow.adp.com/&callingAppId=WFN&TARGET=-SM-https://workforcenow.adp.com/theme/admin.html NS_ERROR_FAILURE: WindowsJumpLists.sys.mjs:257:29

Edge works perfectly (and unfortunately, I'm having to use Edge to enter this ticket.). Other applications don't have any issues. I'm not having this issue on 2 other similar PCs I have that run FF, only this one.

Any ideas of what might be the issue with FF on this PC? Thanks, Alex

Firefox inhibits power management, causing the screensaver to not activate. This happens when I am not running a video. It happens if I open a website that has video but I do not run the video. If I turn off Firefox the screensaver works. Screensaver is set to activate at 5 minutes. Power Management is set to turn off screen when inactive for 7 minutes. Good day,

Firefox Synchronization restores my old data as soon as I sign in, even though I do not push synchronization.

I have absolutely no power to decide what gets restored. I do not see any possibility to update the data stored on my Firefox profile online.

But the oddest behavior is that I opened a new account from another PC in order to save my actual Firefox data. I then synchronized my data from the first PC with the new account, and this time, instead of overwriting my local data from my new account, it is the data from the new account that got overwritten from my local profile containing the old data.

To sum up things, it seems that:

- I cannot choose what gets saved or restored neither on my PC locally nor on my Firefox profile online.

- When I synchronize Firefox, my data gets randomly overwritten either on my PC locally or on my profile online, without giving me the choice to either backup or restore these data.

Is there any way to avoid this ? And how do I choose if synchronization overwrite my local profile from my online one or the other way round ?

Hi,

I have logged in in a new device with my firefox account and I can´t see anything of my backed up data.

Passwords, bookmarks, pluggins are gone... And I checked before that I had my sync on and everything was synced.

Before that, I added a secondary email and then put it as primary. Could you please check?

At some point in the last few weeks -- possibly after an upgrade -- I've noticed that some websites such as the Washington Post and Fidelity can take minutes rather than seconds to load. The problem doesn't seem to be with the sites themselves (because they load fine on Chrome) or with my hardware (because exactly the same thing happens on both of my computers). Has anyone else noticed this?

( I'm running Firefox 131.0.3 on Windows.)

I clicked on a link to a domain that has clearly expired and got redirected to a porn site. I'd like to remove this from my browsing history so my children don't accidentally come across it. How do I do this? I used to be able to just highlight the item in History>Show all History>Library and press delete but this doesn't work any more. I then followed the instructions to Click-control forget this site (as at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-browsing-search-download-history-firefox#w_remove-a-single-website-from-your-history) but that didn't work either. Anyone any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi

Any help will be appreciated as I have this issue over a year. I thought with the updates it would be fixed but it seems like its only my firefox browser issue.

Every time I try to view a YouTube video it keeps crashing. I get this message - Gah. Your tab just crashed. We can help! Choose Restore This Tab to reload the page. YouTube works in other browsers though.

I take a lot of screenshots using Firefox's built in screenshot tool to share with my friends. After a while it slows down my Photos folder and I move them elsewhere. However, I cannot move, delete, or even rename any of the 18 photos shown in the photo below. They are all from Twitter/X, but this error does not apply to every screenshot from Twitter - I was able to move or delete most of them. However, it is ONLY happening with photos from Twitter. They are not Read Only so I don't know what the issue is. I'm not having this issue with Windows Snip tool, only Firefox Screenshots.

Video won't display on browser from a website. There is nothing wrong with the video. It used to show, but somewhere along the line a add-on blocked it. Not add blocker and I don't remember the name of the extension. I removed the extension, and even after re-install, and refresh & clearing history it wouldn't show. On the last reinstall, I deleted all folder data files associated with firefox with the hope of a clean install. Nope. The install of firefox still said re-install. I tried every option imaginable in the reinstall and still I got my old firefox back with the same problem. I tried refresh of course, also. So what can I do? I did a lot of searching for existing answers to the problem, and didn't find anything.

My Firefox started crashing a lot recently. Dozens of tab crashes within the span of just a minute or two are not uncommon. Sometimes, the entire browser itself crashes. Usually, the reason given is a vague EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE or EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ. I should note that in my case, the crashes affect most of the browsers I use, but they do not crash nearly as often as firefox does.

I've tried using it without any extensions (clean install), and with hardware acceleration disabled. I've run a RAM test also, which showed no issues. Disk check also indicated no issues. I installed windows 10 and even windows 11 on the secondary hard disk, but the issue persisted. I've also tried forcing my discrete/integrated GPU to be used solely as the display adapter, but the crashes still persisted.

When using firefox on ubuntu, the crashes do not happen, strangely. There was only one instance that I noticed the crashes on ubuntu, and that was when I set my discrete graphics card as the exclusive display adapter, from the BIOS settings.

Anyway, nothing really sticks out as the root cause. Wonder if someone is able to decipher anything from the crash reports below https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-6927a483-6c22-4830-b057-1413e0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-42b9b1f5-5820-4ed9-9c52-30c8e0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-0b92e804-00e8-4515-9129-3b5db0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-d27cdb0b-3e38-4507-925b-09ce30240914 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-fa6b0609-ae19-4a66-a81d-078040240911

One of the things I heavily rely on with FireFox is it storing words I type in reply boxes on various forums. Lately however, Firefox only seems to keep them for several hours, then they disappear. For example, I can type in "K Frame." (See image attached) The next time I go to use that field again, that text will automatically appear. And it may continue to do so for several hours, even if I close out Firefox and return later, but eventually, within 24 hours, it will disappear and I will have to retype it again the nest time I want to use that phrase. FireFox used to hold these words or phrases forever.

Any suggestions????? Both my Windows 11 and Firefox are up to date.

Hi, this has been happening for a while now, and is very frustrating - it's much too easy to tear off tabs into new a new window; the tinyest drag whilst the left mouse button is clicked is enough to pull the tab into a new window; I've tried turning off tear tab behaviour, but that is more annoying than the tabs tearing itself, since it doesn't stop the action, it just means that the tab doesn't go to a new window but stays where it is, after messing with Tree Style Tab a bit (it removes the tab from any tree its in, and bugs the tree so it won't accept new child tabs). That setting also stops you moving a tab to a new window at all - you have to copy the url and open a new window and navigate to the URL.

Any idea what might be happening? I've searched several times over the last few months and the only hits I get are 4 years old (and recommend turning off tab tearing at all).

Thanks,
