I am running WikiSpecies on Ubuntu Firefox 64-bit v. 98.0.2.

I used to be able to display a collection of unused files with the used ones but showing a red color indicating that the file was unused (because noone had entered anything other than the file name).

Now, however, ALL files in a directory (e. g., see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Craspedophorus) are shown with the same color, whether they include additional implementation details or not.

Would it be possible for you to restore the "unused" color of empty files? It is bothersome for me to open EVERY file, empty or not, in a directory just to find that most or all of them never have been implemented. Adding a special color -- or other distinctive display -- to unimplemented files would save me a great deal of time.

I am attaching a picture of a typical unimplemented file.

March 9, the progress of download status now comes on after each download, not when I simply ask to see the status. this is annoying as it continues to list all downloads during the session. I have to hit the icon to not see the status after each pop-up, this was never a problem until this morning.

I went to start my tax return at the IRS Free Fillable Forms site and was met with a bit of a mess. All the input and check boxes are offset up and to the left. Same happens with my Chrome folder renamed and in Troubleshoot Mode. It does not happen with a new profile, and adding my user.js to it doesn't make the problem happen.

Seems like it must be a config setting I made, but I can't find it looking at about:config/modified only. Any ideas what setting might be causing this? Interestingly, it also happens with beta and nightly, but the offset positions are different.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sorry to have to go to such lengths to figure out how I can fix this error. Today I opened up Firefox to watch some simple youtube videos, then I come to realization that all my bookmarks I have are gone. I quickly check up on them to find out that they are still there, which was a relief for me. I searched through multiple different problems and solutions, but none of them worked for me I can try to send you an image of what has now become of my bookmark toolbar. I tried restoring the defaults, as well as restarting my PC, or checking if I have the toolbar visible. I sincerely hope you can help me fix my problem.

Yours sincerely, Oliver Wiechert

I have two computers (say A and B). I want to move the entire Bookmark toolbar from A to a folder in the Bookmark toolbar on B. This would allow me to selectively move folders and bookmarks from the A Bookmark toolbar upload to the toolbar on B. So far I cannot get the Import or Restore to upload to a single empty folder on the B bookmark toolbar.

I have tried to upload previously exported Html and Json files from A to a specific empty folder on B's bookmark tool bar but either the file overwrites the entire toolbar on B or nothing appears to happen.

I thought that by selecting a folder in the "Manage Bookmark" dialog box that the subsequent upload of either the Html or Json files would all go there but it does not appear to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I think I may have a ghost in my desktop. 2 events happen with firefox that have followed from a previous pc build. At seemingly random times if Firefox is open and the visible tab has text, as in is not a full tab video stream, all of the text and images will shrink in size and spacing. This is independent of the zoom function as it remains at 100. Zooming to make text larger again looks weird and bulky, refreshing the page however will restore it. This glitch happens even if another application has focus, even if it is fullscreen exclusive. I haven't been able to figure out what kind of shortcut, command, or addon might possibly be able to do this.

The drop-down mystery happens when the visible tab is a full tab stream. Again even if another application has focus, the download drop-down appears and stays until I click somewhere. I've only seen it appear once and it does not look like when I choose to click the drop-down button. The size of the drop-down changed a couple to several times, and I believe the first download item appeared to be highlighted in dark blue, something I can't reproduce with my mouse or keyboard, it only highlights a different color grey. This one makes me nervous as it could possibly be something activating a download and then immediately deleting it from history? I only just recently learned the the menu will appear automatically when downloading something.

I've tried reinstalling Firefox. I don't notice this on edge, though I only have to use it a fraction of the time. I've never noticed any extra commands or text appear that I didn't type or direct in other applications. This somehow shows up after a fresh windows 10 install, and have since replaced keyboard & mouse. I've tried leaving a keylogger over long periods and it never shows anything. I refuse to leave Mozilla, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this far :)

I'm not entirely sure what's happened, but I can describe it. My Macbook Air crashed for reasons unknown, and upon rebooting it, I attempted to open Firefox, but was met with the message "A copy of firefox is already open". I found some old guide on using Terminal to discover two different profiles for Firefox. After restarting my computer, I accessed my Firefox tabs from before, but now when I open links from my email account, they default to opening up a new Firefox window, one where it seems my bookmarks don't exist. How do I remove the second profile without losing my bookmarks?

I recently upgraded my system and, after installing and using Firefox, I notice the Find (Ctrl + F) bar is now at the bottom of the window. Whereas, it was previously at the top (which is more like every other application I use).

After some head scratching and web searches, I remembered I had to fix this issue previously (after a Firefox upgrade some time back). The method to fix it then could be found here: [there a way to put the Find Bar at top] That link is of course to the same question asked 4 years back.

I have once again followed the procedure there explained per: • Access my Firefox profile folder. In my case:

  C:\Users\<Me>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5ym42ewi.default

• Create folder therein called ‘chrome’ • In that folder create a file called ‘userChrome.css’ • In that file add text:

  .browserContainer > findbar {
    -moz-box-ordinal-group: 0;
  }

However, after doing that (and restarting Firefox), the Find bar stubbornly remains glued to the bottom of the window.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?

As a separate note to the developers: This issue is long-standing, that a web search reveals is still relevant to many users. Any chance of considering making it a standard option?

I contacted the Daily Mail newspaper because I keep getting their popup news alert messages even when I am reading my email. My Firefox popup blocker is checked. I complained to the news paper and they gave the following message to get rid of these annoying messages. Here are their instructions to stop this on Firefox> 1. Click the Settings icon in the top right of your browser window and choose "Preferences" 2.From the left hand side of the page, choose "Content" 3. Under Notifications, press "Choose

There is no Preferences category under my settings icon. There is no Content on the left side of the page when I go to Settings There is no Notifications label from which to select Choose.

How the heck do I get rid of this annoying popup or notification or whatever the heck it is? Please advise. Thx

FF 98.0.2 - just updated. Top five lines of FF are TINY - using the ZOOM function only enlarges the body of the webpage, not the top five lines, FF logo, menu bar,’ Bookmarks Toolbar, etc. All previous suggestions have been to use Zoom control or to adjust size in about:config. That is ignoring the problem. Some answers claim the problem is in system settings. However, this is a brand new out of the box computer, when I use the Microsoft Edge installed on it, the corresponding lines of that browser are functional, not microscopic, so I KNOW MOZILLA CAN DO BETTER. PLEASE DO!!! I'm not the only person going blind and crazy trying to read the top five lines and getting bad suggestions (though thank you all for trying.) I have another computer running FF 93.0 and I'm not updating that one until the latest version is fixed. Please see two pix taken at 240% zoom, both screen resolutions the same, 1366x768. It is clearly seen that the test on ver 93.0 is larger than on 98.0.2. And just for giggles, a shot of MS Edge...look at the size of the top lines. (I've done a ton of troubleshooting in my career. Something's not right.)

After a computer reboot, ALL my bookmarks have disappeared. I'm running Firefox 98.0.2 on Mac 10.14.6 - I've followed all the 'help' advice: I opened firefox profiles, it only shows one. I rebooted Firefox (I was left with bare bones) and still no bookmarks and still only one profile. I've looked in the computer 'library' and I can find nothing compressed (the bookmarkbackups folder has 15 items but all are dated 2022). Can someone please help me retrieve them, I'm in the middle of a project and NEED the bookmarks. Thank you in advance!

Basically, a requested relaunch blanked my profile and I can't get it back.

I have a lengthy workaround that will take over an hour to fix from backups, before this incident, but I'd really like to understand what's going on. How can my add-ons, bookmarks, history, logins, etc. be gone? If I did a refresh on purpose, why would my shortcuts remain intact? And, I started by backing up my profile folder to a neutral spot, so why isn't replacing it reversing the changes?

As background: The "about:profiles/Restart With Add-ons disabled" button brings up a small button dialogue to choose "refresh" or default "open." I selected "open" because I didn't want to fix my profile and assumed I would relaunch with only add-ons disabled, so this was a potential point of screw-up. I assume selecting "refresh" would reset application defaults and make a mess exactly like I find myself in now. Shouldn't "Restart with Add-ons disabled/Open" relaunch a temporary and reversible state? Doesn't "refresh" prompt a new default profile?

Considering evidence only, it appears I did something to roast my profile before I backed it up, but that's strange and really out in the weeds, and I'm assuming I wrecked it with my current activity.

The default profile name and path are correct. My shortcut links and labels that I use for a home page are intact but with icons missing, the same appearance as if I deleted the cache; is this detail part of application settings and not profile?

I am continuing to experience issues with Firefox on my new Framework laptop. It is only on this computer, and only with Firefox. I cannot log in to my office.com (Office 365 account). It will continually refresh and throw me back to the sign in page.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and refreshed Firefox, disabled all extensions, allowed UBlock Origin exceptions for office.com in the list, have attempted to toggle the DNS settings, adjust the proxy settings to be no proxy, and confirmed I am up-to-date with the most recent version. I have deleted browser cache and cookie data multiple times. I also confirmed this works fine on my other computers with the same settings and versions of Firefox. I will occasionally get a code (shown in attached image) but upon researching this I'm not finding any information to assist. What on earth is happening? I haven't had any issues with this
